It's a Figgy Christmas with a watermark!

LUCKY ME!

I don't usually begin my blog with that, but really, check out my new watermark - created and made by the wonderful Beth Silaika from Freckled Fun Designs, who also did my cute, little banner!

She does marvelous work as you can see, and her prices are so reasonable!! Check her out...

Oh my goodness, my card today was truly inspired by the wonderful Trudee over at Splitcoast Stampers. Check out her blog "Follow Your Bliss" - she has a really neat card with the tree Figgy Paper so I had to try it with the present Figgy Paper.

My card was stamped with a Michael's stamp from their cheap bin! I love that bin! You can find the cutest little stamps for only $1 , well, $1.50 in Canada - go figure!

I used my prisma pencils (from My Favorite Things) and gamsol to color and of course those amazing Sakura glitter pens, although that doesn't show in the photo.

I used my Stamping Up ticket punch to punch the corners, mounted it on baby blue cardstock which was always ticket punched and again on olive green.

I put that aside and used Figgy Pudding present paper that I got at Scrappin Great Deals mounted it on brick cardstock then took the light blue figgy paper- mounted it on brown cardstock, surrounded it with my red polka dot ribbon and adhered it to the figgy present paper. (does that make any sense at all???!)

Layers, layers, layers....right now I am into the layers!

I popped up the stamped image and attached it to the background, added the sentiment in Versamagic pine cone chalk ink. Coffee bean was just too dark for this card.....sometimes it looks black.

Then I paper pierced around the light blue paper and did some faux zig zag stitching.

I hope I get some pretty Christmas cards like this for Christmas!! I suppose it is the thought that counts.....hmmmm. LOL!!

It is kind of depressing, though, when you walk around in Wal-mart and see their Christmas cards at 10/$1.99. It leads me to wonder, why I do this at all....but then I go on to the scrapping section, or ribbon aisle and I get lost in all that lovely "stuff" and I forget about their ugly cards (IMO) and buy , buy, buy!!

Off to math class today with my daughter.....maybe I will go to the ribbon section!!

LUCKY ME!
