Manly yes, but I like it too!

While making up these Valentine cards for Waltzingmouse Stamps Valentine sneak peeks, I discovered the plaid stamp in the Off Beat Backgrounds stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps!  I mean, I knew it was there, but I just didn't have the courage to ink it up, but I am certainly glad that I finally did it!

I chose to use Memento Rich Cocoa and Pure Poppy ink and stamped it onto Kraft Cardstock.

The main part of my card is scored as to follow the sketch challenge over at Caardvaarks.

And just take a look at that lovely Martha Stewart heart punch - doesn't it add the vavoom-ness for Valentine's Day??

AND it punched through the thick cardstock that I was using - amazing - I have broken two of her punches now because I was forcing them to go through cardstock and it just wasn't going to happen!

Of course, I didn't learn and tried it again and it actually worked -wahoo! Persistence paid off this time!

From the bit of leftover plaid that I had, I punched out a Fiskars scalloped heart and attached a button and a bit of twine to it with the added gorgous Zva creative crystal.

The red heart was also punched with the Fiskars scalloped heart punch and then I ran it through one of my Fancy Corners Cuttlebug embossing folders and inked up the edges of it with some Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Ranger ink.

I liked the "old" look so I inked around the whole thing with the Ranger inks!

The sentiment is of course, from the new Waltzingmouse Stamps Valentine set which will be available on Monday!!

I love the look of this card and am quite happy with how it turned out! (Sometimes that just doesn't happen lol!)

We are slowly getting around to cleaning up our home after the holidays - there have been some terrific snow squalls just north of here, dropping as much as 15 cm of snow every 6 hours (approximately 1" per hour) so I hope it doesn't travel down our way.

It's pretty and luscious and so very Christmas-y but I don't enjoy driving in it - oh listen to me whine - I was going to be more positive this year too! Hard to teach an old dog new tricks....lol!
