Witching You......

Good morning friends and happy Wednesday --also know as hump day - the middle of the week - getting closer to the weekend yay!

I have a couple of DRS Designs images from our new Hallowe'en stamps that you are going to L-O-V-E!

I used the Broomstick Stella Witch and the Spirit of Hallowe'en Greeting to make a case card! I just stamped Stella and then coloured her with my copic markers, making a small trail of C-1 behind her to give the illusion of wind.

The greeting was stamped in the bottom corner so as not to interfere with lovely Stella and as an added touch, the wonderful Zva Creative black flourish - I cut these flourishes up to my hearts content and then place the swirls where I want - makes for a money saving tip!

Have a boo-tiful day!!

Well Read...

My Favorite Things has a challenge every Wednesday called Wednesday Stamp Club (yeh how'd they come up with that name eh? - hah!). This week the challenge is to  Make a Scene.

I decided to be lazy and use an already laid out scene for my card. This set is called Well Read and if you are a book lover, like I am...it's a must have!

So here is my scene - with paper piecing galore!

I used Crate Paper Restoration for my paper piecing, and how about that flower??! I was trying to find a button and came across this perfect flower in my stash - honestly - how does that happen - if I was looking for it - I never would have found it!

The ribbon is from a My Favorite Things ribbon pack awhile back and I don't see it on the site.....so sorry.....

Well, I am going to try to get caught up with my stamping today - after my Pop tarts and Coffee breakfast - yeehaw!!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge....and a bit of Blabbering.....

Warning: The following post has been fueled by several cups of coffee Smiley from millan.net and a day of stamping....read at your own risk....bwahahahaha!!!!

Good day! I'm sorry I haven't been around this week, but we have been busy farming - not Farmville or Frontierville - but real actual farming lol!!- combining beans to be precise, and since my son has gone back to school I am doing the go'fering this fall - you know - go for this, go for that ...love it!

This week's sketch challenge at Waltzingmouse Stamps was a fun one and quite simple!! I used my Nutcracker Sweet stamp set and some Making Memories Christmas paper. I also was able to work in the Musical Backgrounds stamp set - absolutely love it!

We would love for you to join us for the 16th sketch challenge! You could be a Top Mouse!

Today, I took the day off of farming to go to Kraftin' Kimmie's First Annual Krafty Day!

It was a blast and I got to see so many people - my whooty friend Kerry (who met me at the door and saved me a spot - thank you Kerry -Smiley from millan.net - I detest walking in alone) whom I met at CHA and was thrilled to find out she was going to be here as well

- also Andrea - who I kind of knew but really didn't (you know?) and now I do because she did two awesome make and takes and we were able to get in a few minutes of visiting Smiley from millan.net (since she didn't have her laptop- *grin*)  with Kerry and Kimmie, - great advice and fun times! - AND I found out that I think I am luvin' Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - I wasn't sure because there is so much colouring - but what a relaxing way to spend the day - colouring-- I mean really!!!

Karen and Sarah were at our table and I got a chance to meet the awesome Amy Leggate from (Paper Romance)....... all fun!!

Of course Scrappin' Great Deals was there with 25% off everything!! - so I had to get something - Sheila has the new October Afternoon Seaside paper pack in - woot woot - and since I am a paper hog.....it was a given!!

So that is why I didn't get my post up this morning.....whew....

So sorry for the rambling - like I said - coffee, stamping and friends (oh yeh - maybe some food too..) a perfect day!!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

Eta:  I changed it back and now it just looks sterile.....geesh..

It is time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

Oh boy, I am a couple of days late, but here is the sketch and here are all the details for Sketch #15!

My card uses 3 Bugs in a Rug Mittens designer paper - I cut a strip of mittens and adhered it to my card base and then I cut out mittens and popped them up on top! Aren't they cute?
Then I had to put some bling on each mitten - so pretty!  Smiley from millan.net

The background has been stamped with the Musical Backgrounds stamp set and the sentiment is from the Very Vintage Christmas stamp set!

My sewing has been improving lately.....and I might even be getting the hang of this funky sewing machine...haha....sometimes it has a mind of it's own....

....and yes, I changed my blog around a bit to celebrate the upcoming season.......is it me or is it too busy.....? True feelings only please......Smiley from millan.net

......and how do you get rid of that freaky box around my smiley's?????

Quixotic paperie/Paper Makeup Stamps blog hop!

Good morning peeps! Today I have the pleasure of being a member of the Quixotic Paperie/Paper Makeup Stamps blog hop!

Quixotic Paperie is the only other online store that carries Paper Makeup Stamps! and since it is in the UK, all of our UK friends can get PMS stamps quicker!

I used the beautiful image from the Dandy Wishes stamp set and inked it up in two different inks - Melon Berry and Hawaiian Shores! The sentiment is from Little Moments Mini Set and it is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa.

I used my funky sewing machine, to zig zag around the edges of my Imaginisce paper and tied a Melon Berry Ribbon around the side.......

The following are the list of participants in our fabulous hop!

I took the weekend off from blogging because on Saturday we wanted to travel to the Stratford Garlic Festival - and then unfortunately it rained so our plans changed and I decided to just laze around the house and not do anything, and that's exactly what I did!

And then on Sunday, it cleared up enough that we were able to go to Grape Jam at Smith & Wilson Winery, and hear three fabulous Blues Bands and drink wine in the autumn sun! It was great!

September Friends of Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz!

Yay! It's time for another Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz and our theme this month is Hallowe'en!! YAY!! Love it!
Smiley from millan.net
The Design Team, has assembled a bunch of clues for you again this month.....just put all the clues together and take a wild guess and you could win a new stamp set that is being released in October!

I decided that I would get busy and start making my treats for the Hallowe'en tricksters that will be around next month. I bought some Lifesaver suckers and  decided to decorate them up - MY style.

We live on a farm so we only have about 10 little people around - at the most! so I can afford to make a few gift bags for the kiddies!

I decided to use the traditional colours, black and orange, since they are always recognizable!

Using the Spellbinders Beaded Circle die I cut out my black circle shapes. Then I used the Spellbinders circle dies to cut out the orange and white circles.

While the white cardstock was still in the die, I used Distress Ink - Antique Linen and sponged around the inside of the die onto the white cardstock.

I stamped the tree from Teeny Trees with a memento black trunk and Smokey Shadow "leaves", and the cute little kitchen witch from Midnight Feast and the sentiment from the Hallowe'en Stamp Set in Memento black.

I adhered them onto the sucker wrapping with a glue dot and then tied some crumply orange ribbon (seam binding sprayed with Dreamsicle Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist) around the sucker stick.

Pretty dang easy....now I hope the little monsters don't rip it apart until at least their parents see it (am I expecting too much LOL!!)

Sketch Challenge and Faith...

Don't forget that DRS Designs is sponsoring the 365 Cards Blog this week! You could win a $10 gift certificate towards new stamps at DRS Designs by completing a creation with the following sketch! wahoo!!

And here is my take on the sketch! Now I know that we are not supposed to use patterned paper but my mind was a total blank this week when I made it and I do think it looks rather lovely!

I used the Faith Greeting, which I use quite regularly - I love this sentiment and it is one I totally believe.....so that makes it special to me!

Thanks for coming around today and don't forget to enter those challenges this week!! There is an encouragement challenge today, so I may enter it in that challenge as well!

Have a great day!

Super Sketchy Sunday....on Monday....

There was a lot going on yesterday so I decided to wait and post this today to give it the love it deserves!

It's DRS Designs Week on 365 Cards blog! First off, there is a sketch challenge that you will find fun and easy AND you may win a $10 gift certificate from DRS Designs! yay!

Here is my take on the sketch:

AND a big thanks to Kristina Werner because I was greatly (almost completely) inspired by her card here.

I had nothing left in the mojo tank when I went downstairs the other day and I KNEW that I had time to play work to do (ever feel that way?) I love being in my room but if I don't feel creative all I see is that big mess that I have left! hah! - and it's a big one---

*reminder to self - clean up someday*
Anyway....sometimes I have to CASE a card to get my motor runningSmiley from millan.net....so that is what I started to do, and then I remember the sketch so I added a sentiment panel and my butterfly and it all came together..... whew!

For this card I used a simple sentiment from DRS Designs called appropriately enough "sending you a smile"!

My paper is from Basic Grey Olivia, there are some Zva Creative Pearls in there and my new Martha Stewart Butterfly punch.....honestly, if I don't buy a new punch once a week I feel like I am lacking - geesh.....

AND for this card and the next I did use patterned paper as you can see.  DRS Designs would rather we used their background stamps (which are absolutely gorgeous and fun!) but I forgot - and made these up before I realized ....oops.....

Waltzingmouse Sneak Peek - Day 3 Bountiful Baskets Additions

Good day! It sounds like you are enjoying the sneaks so far.... Are there any of the new Waltzingmouse sets that you just HAVE to have? LOL! I am so grateful for all your comments - thank you so much - each one is so very special and makes me feel all warm and happy!

Make sure you travel around to everyone on the design team!! They have some awesomeness you won't want to miss!!

Today I am previewing Bountiful Baskets Additions. Additions to what? you might ask yourself..... Well, it is a match up to our previous set called  "Spring Baskets"! Isn't that clever of Claire?! She really is amazing!

For my first card, I used the gingerbread men/ladies - aren't they cute? My basket is green to go with Christmas, of course and the gingerbread and candy are all comfie cozy in their surroundings.....

I found some doilies this week in a pile of stuff under some stuff on a corner of my desk and really wanted to incorporate them into my card and it worked yay!

The sentiment is from Very Vintage Christmas and I used two little doo-dads from the same set on either side of the sentiment!

The second card is not as fussy, but still elegant in it's own way -

Using my funky sewing machine and my scoreboard, I was able to make some unique borders surrounding the basket of poinsettias!

I coloured the flowers and then cut them out and popped them up, folding in the leaves just slightly to add some depth. I added a few little gems  to finish it off and sparkly fun!!

I'll be back tomorrow with my blog waltz creation!!

Remember: Mark your calendars for the following events:

Sunday, September 12th: The Waltzingmouse September Release Blog Waltz.

Friday, September 17th: The September Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz - Ink up your Waltzingmouse Stamps, create a Halloween themed project! Come and join in on the fun!

Waltzingmouse Sneak Peek - Day 2 - Nutcracker Sweet

Good day and welcome to another preview day for Waltzingmouse Stamps! We are releasing 5 new sets on Sunday September 12th for your stamping pleasure!!

Today I am previewing Nutcracker Sweet - such a cute play on words!

Now I have to tell you (but don't tell Claire..) that I am not and never have been a Nutcracker fan......I am afraid of them - I mean those HUGE teeth used to scare the c.r.a.p. out of me when I was little and my feelings have not changed. So when I was challenged with this stamp set - I sighed - very heavily lol!

So my Nutcracker became a pretty Nutcracker, simply so that I could show it who was boss!

I stamped him in Memento Tuxedo Black as per usual and coloured him up with my copic markers. You will see that I coloured his hands purple - because he is wearing gloves.....k.....

A little sewing around the edge - my sewing machine kind of got away from me in the upper corner - I thought I was sewing but I think his eyes were haunting me.....

You can see on my card base I have stamped a stamp from the new Musical Backgrounds which will be available on Sunday also.  It is the reverse music - that is this stamp doesn't stamp the notes, it stamps the background and leaves the notes the same colour as the cardstock - get it?

That's it for today from me, but everyone on the design team have some awesomeness you won't want to miss!! and don't forget to come back tomorrow for another peek!

Waltzingmouse Sneak Peek - Day 1 - Teeny Trees

Oh boy, do we have a fabulous fun-filled sneak peek for you with the Waltzingmouse Stamps release! The next few days are going to blow your socks off for sure!

Today I am previewing one of our newest sets which will be available on September 12th in the Waltzingmouse Stamps store (which is one of the funnest places ever!!)

This set is called Teeny Trees and I just love it......I want to marry it. Seriously. And I know I have said that about other sets, but this time it is true. Bonnie Trees. Nice ring.

Anyway, I couldn't resist making another home decor project. I am in the midst of trying to re-decorate my living room and I need more stuff to get ideas from - so what better than my own designs??!

I had a picture frame with a black frame with white matting. Each spot fits a 3 1/2" x 5" photo, just so you can kind of figure out the size of the Teeny Trees.

Of course I didn't like the white matting, so I took my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Leather, and sprayed the mat. Then, while it was still wet, I took a paper towel and dabbed the mat all around to soak up the mist. I love how it turned out!

I stamped each tree trunk 3 times on each piece of white cardstock, and used all the different elements of the stamp set to create Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter!!

There are still many other elements to this stamp set including sentiments.....I just couldn't fit them all in lol!

This picture is spooky because you can see me in the background glare taking the picture lol!

That's it for today from me, but make sure you travel around to everyone on the design team!! They have some awesomeness you won't want to miss!! and don't forget to come back tomorrow for another peek!

Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peeks!

Good Day, it is time again for the Paper Makeup Stamps Pre-release peeks!! Always such a fun and exciting time when we get to show off new stamps!!

I get to show off the Pinwheel stamp (all week I have been calling it a windmill - whattheheck?) so I stamped it three times on white cardstock and one on a piece of scrap cardstock.

I coloured them all up and cut out the extra pinwheel and popped it up onto the middle pinwheel!

Since I was using my Cosmo Cricket Delovely paper pack again, I matched it up with a piece of Raspberry Fizz cardstock and ribbon and then a button down below with some turquoise twine!

I actually had a sentiment in that spot with the button, but the sentiment hasn't been released yet, so I put a huge button over top! - Great save huh?!

Wander over to the Paper Makeup Blog to see what all the other girls have been designing and to find out all the particulars- fabulous stuff!!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

Good day, it's Saturday and that means that it is time for another sketch challenge from Waltzingmouse Stamps! I didn't get the sketch done, because I mistakenly did next week's sketch instead of this week's.... oivay.....but now I have next's week's sketch - done and pre-posted !!

Take a look at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #13 this week and all the great examples from the Mischief Makers and the Design Team - it's a great sketch (as always)!

In the meantime I do have a card for you using a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps set Rescue Remedies Additions and being inspired by today's Inspiration Challenge which is to be inspired by Elizabeth's Embellishments!

The colours and the flowers of the slippers were beautiful to me and I got my gorgeous fabric tape out to make my flower.

The Pure Poppy cardstock was embossed with the Moroccan Cuttlebug folder and the middle portion was stamped with WMS Off Beat Backgrounds and Pure Poppy ink.

And what about that flower?!  I used some lovely fabric tape from Love My Tapes, that I bought at CHA and pleated it around in a circle. I added a piece of Hawaiian shores cardstock cut out with my yellow Marvy scalloped punch, added a button and some fun twine and it's a cute embellishment!

Here are the slippers - and it is a beautiful site - I encourage you to visit it - but don't blame me!!

WT286 With Love

Julia's Ways to Use it Challenge this week, is to use one piece of cardstock and decorate it up!

I had a discarded wedding card front that didn't make the cut, so I used that for my base - It was a stamped Cornish Heritage Scrapblock that I can't even link up since they are not selling stamps anymore (what's with that??)

I sprayed it with Maya Road mist, added a cork flower (not paper!) and then another little paper flower (I know..cheater!) and a button tied with twine.

My little cheater paper flower is cut out with the Cuttlebug die and if you will notice,I cut the petals so that it would give some dimension. I also sponged along the edges of everything with the tea dye duo ink pads from Papertrey Ink.

I added a Zva Creative Pearl flourish - well, it is actually half of one that I had left over - that is what I love about them - they seem expensive but this is the last of this flourish and I have cut it five times - so I have been able to use one flourish on five different projects!! Very Cool and thrifty I might add lol!

The sentiment is from the gorgeous stamp set by Waltzingmouse Stamps called Say it with Style!

ATC's swap with MFT

So many initials! For those of you who don't know, an ATC is an altered trading card - measuring 3 1/2" X 2 1/2". You make them and then some people collect them and others use them for the front of their finished cards!

I joined a My Favorite Things ATC swap this month and I thought I would show you my finished product!

I used "Start the Day with Whee!" - my favorite MFT stamp of all time! and stamped her 12 times, coloured her twelve times, and then cut her out twelve times.......

Using some K & Company designer paper, I cut and sewed a small background onto the base of each ATC and then I adhered the little Whee! image to the background.

Then, using the Die-namics Banner Day die, I made a little flag and stamp the word "Whee!" onto the banner. I was able to add a button that had some twine tied through it and popped the flag onto the ATC.

Doesn't this just take you back to swinging in the backyard? My grandson loves to swing and my stomach pretty near flips every time he says "higher Grandma!"!! It just seems so dangerous!!! LOL!  (what an old fogie I am.....)
