Make it Monday Easel Card

Good morning!  Today's Make it Monday video tutorial was brought to you by Erin Lincoln - always trying to give you more bang for your buck!

I watched the video and then put together an easel card with a back to school theme.

I die cut my card base with the Papertrey Ink Gift Card Die, by using the long end of the die to make my cut - so very simple.

Using the Background Basics Text Style and Classic Kraft ink - I stamped my background and then swiped the edges with Fresh Snow ink.

I made a little frame for my "chalkboard" with Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle Dies - so happy I still have them - using Pure Poppy and Lemon Tart cardstock and a piece of Bitty Dot patterned paper.

I cut a square from Smokey Shadow cardstock and rounded the corners .  I stamped with It's Official - using the notebook lines stamp and Fresh Snow ink.  Smudging the ink is mandatory (and fun!) when doing this chalkboard look.

The sentiment is from "The Cutting Garden" and I thought it was a great choice - since the word "record" was included - it's the little things right? :)

I die cut the letters from the Block Alphabet Die collection and adhered them to the "blackboard".  I also diecut and stamped a little apple from the $5 mini set - Fruit Fusion: Apple and popped it up onto my main panel.

A little bit of twine, tied in a bow - brings it all together - don't you think?
