  1. Oh my Bonnie that is such a wonderful gift set and the stamp set is beeautiful!!!!
I've never been stung by a BEE but would believe that I had swallowed a Bee and coughed it back out!
We we're a bunch of kids riding in the back of a pickup truck (back in the day when we were aloud to do that) and I was yawning and a big BEE landed in my throat. Luckily it didn't sting me,could you imagine what could of happened, well I gagged and coughed for about 2 or 3 minutes even though it felt like an hour,it finally came back out!
Thanks for the chance at this BEEautiful candy!!!

I asked for some ice as I was panicing. Luckily I had some benedryl in my purse. I don't know if I am allergic but took 53 years to get the first sting. SKeeters are another story!

  4. What a greats tamp set!

I was walking out of the office at work several years ago, just as a bee flew through the door. It stung me about an inch below my eye (and if I hadn't been wearing my glasses, it might have actually got me in the eye). Thankfully, ice helped with some of the swelling, but it hurt like heck for a few days.

  6. What a cute set! I love bee stamps, not so much the real things. As a young adult, I stepped on a bee that was hiding in some clover. Of course I was barefoot! My foot swelled up to double it's size. My mom suggested soaking it in epson salts and smearing the sting site with a baking soda paste. Don't ask me why!

I was stung by a bee during the summer when I was a little girl swimming at my grandma's pool. Sadly, I had to go inside so my mom could try to get the stinger out while my cousins got to keep swimming! Oh bees!

  9. Here is my bee story. I was hiking and then I got cactus stuck in my leg so I told my friend I am going to sit down and you go get help. I sat on a bee hive and got stung all over. Firemen had to come and help me. I passed out.

  11. I guess I am one of the lucky few people who have never been stung by a bee. I have been stung by a wasp though! Richard put some chewing tobacco on it. Yep, you heard me right, chewing tobacco. Not fresh from the can either. He had to chew it and then put it on the sting. Apparently, his family swears by it. It seemed to do the trick.
Thanks for the chance to win such a fabulous stamp set!
    Stampin hugs, Becky:)

I stepped on a bee once. I'm not really allergic to bees but to the pollen they have in their bodies. I put meat tenderizer on the sting but still swelled up so I had to keep my foot elevated and couldn't put on shoes (don't like shoes anyway).
Thanks for the blog candy offer.

  15. What a great question to ask for a chance at this sweet stamp set.
I can only remember on time stamping on a bee. I did the same dance and maybe a bad word came out of my mouth. My mom pulled the stinger on and put some wet tabacco on it. Thanks for a chance.

  16. I don't bee-lieve I have ever been stung by a bee, but I have been stung by a wasp! I was about 10 years old and playing in a friends pool in the backyard. There wasn't much space around the pool and what space there was there were flowers. Well the ball we were playing with landed in the flower beds and everyone said they weren't getting the ball (I guess they had been stung before) so I said I would get the ball. I got out of the pool, bent over to get the ball and I guess that is when the wasp had it's best target! LOL Right in the old bummm I got it! I let out a cry and jumped back in the pool. Eveyone thought I was playing around, when I came up for air they realized I was crying. So my mom and I went to the bathroom to look for the stinger in my but! It has been the ONLY time I have ever been stung! Thank goodness!!

  17. I've never been stung by a bee, but I have been stung by a wasp - not a fun experience, at all. I can't remember what I did for it - an ice pack comes to mind, though. I can't wait to see all the new issues - what an enabler you are!!

  18. I was stung by a bee in a horse corral when I was about 16. It got caught between my knees, stung my left knee. It hurt SO bad to walk! I remember my sister in law pulling out the stinger and putting witch hazel on it...yeowww!!!

    Great blog candy give away!!!

  19. I just love that gift set you made!! I am lucky enough to have never been stung by a bee. However, when my brother and I were young, we were jumping on a log and all of a sudden a swarm flew out at us!! Boy were they mad - got my brother, but I made it safely in to the house. I'm still afraid of bees...

  20. I've been stung several times. My mom always made a baking soda paste and applied it to the sting. I was stung once under the arm when I dove into a pool, once on a school bus on my calf (and I have tiny scars from both of those), once on my back as I sat back in my car...that one was a wasp and I cried!!! I make up the same paste stuff if my kids get stung too! Love this set!

  27. There has been quite a few bee stings along the way...but the one that really stands out in my mind is when I was about 11 years old. Somehow I was stung by a bee under my eye. My eye was fine, stinger removed and the usual pain and swelling, iced. Each day it got worse, and eventaully my eye was shut and I looked terrible! To make matters worse as it began to go down, class pictures were happening! I think we still have that dreaded picture of me with the swollen eye!
That's my story and I am sticking to it! Fab candy you are giving away!Maybee I will get lucky! Deb

  28. Hi Bonnie: I was probably 5 or 6 yrs. old and I found a big ole bumble bee that was dead. I picked it up and wondered if the stinger was still there. Guess what? Bees can sting you even if they are dead!! Who knew? Never did that again. Janice McC.

  30. I actually had two horrible experiences with bees/hornets/yellow jackets AKA little beasts! When I was about 6-7 years old I was playing with my neighborhood friends in a vacant lot of our sub. It was a newer sub so lots of construction always going on. We found a big board and picked it up. Well there was a wasp nest under it and a couple got my fingers. A neighbor was outside and heard the commotion. They took me in the house and plunged my fingers into ice water to numb it. Then they scraped the stinger out. That hurt like the dickens! My second experience was on my grandparents farm. I was walking in the field with my cousins and a swarm of yellow jackets got us. I had been stung on the leg. We started running for the house when we saw a mud puddle. My older cousing started slapping mud on my leg. It worked. OK, enough about those darn little buggers. The stamping ones are much cuter and easier to handle. LOL Thanks for a chance to win some of the little buggers.

  31. I was stung on my tail end three times and my hand once last summer! I was out walking and felt an unpleasant tingle on my rear end and tried to brush it off! It angered the wasp(s) and they stung me four times!! Yeeee-ouch! The worst part was when it started to heal and itch! LOL My mom didn't do anything but laugh at me! :)

I can't remember whether I had a bee sting as a kid, but I read recently that if you tape a copper penny on a bee sting overnight it will remove the pain and swelling. I fortunately have not had the necessity to try it.

Adorable set--thanks for the chance to win!!!

I've been stung twice in my life. Once on my knee--it swelled like crazy. I went to the doctor & had the stinger removed. The second time I got stung sure did shock me--I put my robe on in the morning & had a sudden pain under my arm. Yes, the bee was in my robe! That really hurt. At least it didn't swell up.

  38. Good thing i am not allergic, because i do not remember how many times i have been stung. i was even stung by a wasp once. ahhh! in little league baseball i got stung while out in the field. i had to get an ice pack on my ear for a bit and have the stinger taken out, but beyond that i thought it was fascinating that the swollen spot was caused by the little bugger.

  40. I will never forget the time when I took my kids to the park and told them to go and play I'll sit right on the bench and watch all of you play. So I walked over to the bench and needless to say you got it sat on a bee. I jumped and the bee was dead but, he got me before I killed him with my butt.LOL I stood the rest of the time and when we got home by hinie was so red and sore. my hubby had to get the stinger out.

  41. Oh, yeaah. As a child I cranked an old pitcher pump and it wasn't water that came out! It was bees... lots of them! Evidently they built a nest up inside the spout!

I just knew I'd be the only one to say I had swallowed a bee, but I see someone else has, also.
I was in the 4th grade and we were out for recess. I was laughing with a friend and a bee flew in my mouth and I swallowed it. Needless to say, it stung my throat on the way down. I was screaming and crying. They took me to the principal's office, called my mother, and she took me to an ENT doctor.
From then on I was know as the girl that swallowed a bee!

  44. What a lovely set! A bee stung my finger at the age of 4 and I remember that event vividly. Good thing my mom knew what to do while I was screaming and crying as my finger got more and more swollen. Phew - who knew something so small could pack such a punch!!

  45. I've not been stung by a bee....but instead of swallowing a bee I swallowed a live grasshopper once.....by accident! He flew in my mouth while biking....and then didn't know whether to go up or down and I couldn't breathe for a bit!

Cute set by the way! ;)
