Let the Adventure Begin!

Good Morning! I'm creating with Color Throwdown's colours today - and I love that they played right into my new stamps.

I have been eyeing up Dress Up Dolls from Papertrey Ink for months - every release I was drawn into the memories of my girlie youth (long, long ago), playing with my friends and our paper dolls.......and then I happily crumbled.

I'm began my purchases with the Dress Up Dolls: Basic Stamp Set and dies because the Summer Fun Mini Set and Dies pushed me over the top!!  I have great memories of being at a cottage up north fishing when I was a girlie and then being able to rent a cottage for a few years with our children - at a beach - beautiful!

I'm sure the neighbours heard me squealing after each little outfit was finished lol.  There are shirts and shorts and pigtails and ponytails and lifebuoys and ice cream cones and bathing suits and watermelon and sandals and on and on and on ----

I began by stencilling along the bottom of white cardstock using one of the stencils from the Sun & Surf Stencil Collection and Spring Rain ink.  These are beautiful but delicate stencils - so pouncing instead of swiping works the best to achieve your look.

I diecut and adhered the waves from the What the Doodle: Waves Die on top of my stencilling - die cutting it a few times using the proper part of the diecut along with some of the negative to place sort of willy nilly.....

Dawn McVey had a post this week about using stamps out of season.  Well, my sentiment is from a baby set - Sweet Cheeks -now in the vault :(....so that is sort of out of season right?

Dream Then Do - Masculine and Feminine!

Good Morning! I'm getting in the groove today putting together a couple of cards  - one masculine and one feminine - using CAS-ual Fridays new release Dream Then Do !

I made them very simple and yet effective in their own way.

Using Post-It tape, I taped off a piece of 3 3/4" x 5" white cardstock onto my craft sheet.   With Moon Rock ink, I sponged the section lightly and then stamped the sentiment in Versamagic Onyx Black ink.

I backed this stamped piece with a band of black cardstock and then popped it up onto a Soft Stone card base.  I was absolutely forced to add a glitter heart - a button would have done for a masculine card but a heart? - c'mon - what says affection more aptly?!

The feminine version was created in the same manner - but using Lovely Lady ink for the sponging and Raspberry Fizz ink and cardstock backed onto my Soft Stone card base.  I also added a few more hearts and some gold flat sequins with a gold bow - you can never overdo it with feminine!

Dream Then Do is such a pretty set and as you can see, it lends itself to various options!

Life is short…

Good Sunny Morning and it is FRIDAY!! ….(remember when that was a really big deal?)

Oh my - there are a few crafty challenges floating around the stamping world this week - namely - Reverse Confetti's Sketch For You To Try,  The Color Throwdown #378 and todays Splitcoast Stampers challenge - to make a masculine valentine - done and done.  I am diving right in.

Easy As Pie is a Reverse Confetti stamp set with cutie matching dies and I have been eyeing it for a few months now ---I finally broke down and purchased it woohoo! and it is just as sweet as I imagined it to be.

I'm calling Artistic License on this one - hah!  I just could NOT picture gray pie crusts- so I layered vellum overtop of my patterned paper to create a gray shade (okay? okay.)

I die cut the pie "crust" from kraft cardstock and the pretty pink stripe paper for the "pie tin" is Papertrey Ink's (almost) newest colour Lovely Lady.  Both of the precious hearts are from Love Note Confetti Cuts.

I added lots of "sugar" (glitter) to the pie crusts - men LOVE that, and a shiny red heart sequin on the top.  My pies were layered onto a tag die which was tied with ribbon, twine and an aqua mist button.

Friend

Good rainy morning! Another rainy one here in Southwestern Florida - blech…but it gives me a chance to create which is a big YAY!

The Challenge has a masculine theme inspiration photo this week - NOT my favourite definitely lol, but I perservered and came up with a colourful Friend card - because having a male friend is absolutely do-able!

I used the oranges and blue as my inspiration and came up with a Friend creation that could be sent to a male friend.  Using Mama Elephant's Friend Indeed and some colourful papers - one with bit of glitter because I don't care WHO you are - you are getting a glittery card from me!

I added the matching die cut "friend" along with some twine - because I'm pretty sure that guys like twine - yes they do.

Masculine Thank You

I realize the title of my post might be redundant……not many men send thank you cards but sometimes they might receive one - for something or other…..anyway the hole that I am digging brings me to my creation for today Hah!

I am linking up to this month's Reverse Confetti Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) and this week's Color Throwdown - both fabulous is their own right-- naturally!

I used a ton 'o Reverse Confetti product for these beautiful colours - it was really a no-brainer!

I trimmed and layered up two of the fun Quick Card Panels -Weather or Dot (And Stripes) along with Pina Colada  and stamped a couple of the sequins from Roundabout.

I stamped the thank you sentiment from Roundabout and die cut with the Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts.  This particular circle die leaves a bit more of a white border but I am A-ok with that!

I stapled a couple of little flags cut from Stitched Flag Trio Confetti Cuts - one of my favouritist of all time!! The little button tied with green twine added a little something - masculine for sure and not too frilly!

Thinking of You

Good Morning - another Make it Monday was in the works last night!  I decided to combine my creation with this week's Clean and Simple at Splitcoaststampers…..Make it Masculine!

This week at Papertrey Ink,  Laurie has a tutorial on Ombre stamping - but with a twist!   Check out the video - I enjoyed this type of ombre stamping - very cool!

I decided to use the Shutterbug Special Stamp set for the technique, being as it is a large - mostly solid image.

My inks were Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Tropical Teal - I also gave it a little spritz after inking up the image - just to soften it up - my own little addition hehe.

I thought that this particular sentiment from We Go Together was fitting with the Shutterbug image.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

I thought I would try  my hand at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - and this is #187 - Karen is a crazy girl!! and totally dedicated to her sketches!

Ron's brother is turning 60 on July 1st - yep! a Canada Day baby! so I took the opportunity to put together a birthday card for him. And look at me go - it's a masculine card - difficult for me!

I haven't EVER used my  MFT Die-namics Jersey and Stamp Set, although I have had it for at least a year -  BAD!  

 I die-cut the man's T-shirt and then stamped the #60 in Orange Fizz ink and then arranged the letters to say "SHARP" and stamped it in Hot Fudge ink.  

The lines on the T-shirt are from Lollipop Additions -Love, and I stamped them along the bottom and sleeves of the shirt.

My paper is from Studio Calico - Here + There 6x6 paper pad and I chose to sew around the edges of my panels - the same as Karen - yes I am a copy cat at times.....

I added brads in the corners but still thought that it looked kind of drab.....so I swiped around the edges with white paint!

For the inside of the card I die-cut the Die-namics Party Banner from more Here + There designer paper. 

The sentiment was stamped with Orange Fizz and Hot Fudge ink using the Clearly Sentimental Birthday Sentiments.

I used the smallest little sentiment to stamp along the top of the banner.

It's Always Been You....

Good morning - what a lovely day it is here - a little colder than I would like....for April after all ....but any day that we wake up is a good day right? :)

I have a masculine lovey dovey card today - it follows along with today's Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers! The inspirational website this week is Windsor and this is the photo I chose to be inspired by.....

And this is the card I made....

I stamped one of the sentiments from My Favorite Things Lovey-Dovey Sentiments and die-cut it using the oval die from Die-namics Well Worn Greetings.

I also used Die-namics Chevron Stripes, and the Die-namics Leaf Filled Flourishes, along with some gems to finish it off!

WMS Preview Day Three - Sheriff, Half Pint Heroes Additions and Cabin Plaid

Woohoo! How are you liking the sneak peeks so far? Aren't they fun!?

Today we are previewing three sets for you - Sheriff, Half Pint Heroes additions and Cabin Plaid!

First up - Sheriff.....

I had a little help with this card - I also used a sentiment from Back in the Saddle and the background set - Way Out West on my card base to compliment my card.......such an easy choice!

Using Kraft cardstock and Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, I stamped the Sheriff's badge and cut it out.

 I then stamped the badge again and the word "Sheriff" in the middle, onto Rustic Cream cardstock using Versamark ink and embossed it in fine detail gold embossing powder.

I popped up the "badge" onto my card base, added some gold sticky back gems and tied it with some Waltzingmouse twine!

My next project is Half Pint Heroes Additions - yay!! One of my favorite sets is Half Pint Heroes and this is a great complimentary set!!

Isn't he just the cutest?!! This set is a small set that comes with the highly loved sentiment from Half Pint Heroines only with a masculine take on it....

Dude!!

Good Morning and welcome to another Totally Stampalicious challenge!

This week we are focusing on Autumn - the gorgeous scents, textures and COLOURS of Autumn!
That's right - we want to see your Autumn colours - go for it!

I chose to use my new Bugaboo stamp called Johnny Skateboard! He is such a DUDE!

I paired Johnny Skateboard with my Simple Stories 6 x 6 paper pad called Happy Day - full of the prefect papers for Fall!

I coloured him with my copic markers, and then stamped him again onto some of the patterned paper so I could paper piece his jacket and shirt.  I kind of like how he turned out!

I am also entering this into this past weekends Virtual Stamp Night Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. It is the Back to Basics challenge - A, B, C!  Autumn, Boy and Collar or Copics or Colours - take your pick!

Good Day! 

Today is Monday and that means another Totally Stampalicious Challenge!!  This week's challenge is "Anything Goes" - you KNOW you love those challenges!!

I have used "New Truck Gus" - a stamp set with a sweet image of Gus and four sentiments that will make you chuckle for sure!

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #166 for my layout, along with some left over papers I had on my desk - love using them up - then I don't feel like I really have to clean up my area yay!

I stamped and coloured Grumpy Gus with my copics and then highlighted the fenders and such with white highlighter marker. 

Sewing is always a staple that I love so I zigzagged around the rectangle and then followed the rest of the layout as close as possible!

A lot of depth to this card - I love using my pop dots!!!

Well, make sure to enter our challenge - it's a simple one this week!!

Teapot Tuesday!

Today is Teapot Tuesday!! yay! The idea is to make a card based on the challenge - (which isn't really very difficult at all!)

Anyone can join us in this challenge. Its not by invitation only, its an open to the public Splitcoast Challenge. You also do not have to write a story, just be inspired by the teapot and if you choose, you can be inspired by the challenge story and our destination!

This week we are sending our cards to a fellow (which means masculine eek!!) who needs our warm fuzzies!! Check out the challenge here!

Here is my masculine card....

 I used a fabulous Marianne Creatables 2 piece die for an antique automobile - front and back - I chose to only use the back for this card.

I also decided to leave it a little plain, only adding texture with some corrugated cardboard and a small piece of twine......I wanted bling and blows and frills!....but no.

Hi There! It's time for another Wednesday Sketch Challenge from My Favorite Things!

I am using Fix It Fred for my card this week -  my hubby is a Mr. Fix It man himself, being a farmer and all. They can figure out anything really!!

The Die-namics I used are Die-namics Tool Charms (aren't they sweet??!!), Die-namics Flat Bottom Clouds, Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon Die and the new Die-namics Chevron Stripes!!

I also used my Stamping UP! Corner punch because I don't have the new Die-namics Photo Corners - yet HEE!!

This week you are being challenged to use METAL in your project! As per usual, I made up my card, with never a thought to the challenge but I was fortunate to have my little circle paperclips and so I clipped one onto my card -

I coloured my little boy called "Victory Kid" with my copic markers - I desperately wanted to make camo pants - but just couldn't bring myself to try it....so I settled on the denim green look!

I cut him out and popped him up onto the Dilly Dally designer paper by My Mind's Eye - are you getting tired of this paper yet?   I seem to be using it alot lately :)

I added some flowered grass and a fence to ground the "Victory Kid", and some letters to spell my word!

Masculine Christmas Card!

Good Morning! Just popping in with a quick post - I am trying to construct a banner for our Christmas table this weekend at our craft sale.....Hopefully it will be good enough to show when it is done HAH!

In the meantime, I received some new stamps and designer paper from Scrapmaster's Paradise this week (yay!) and I decided to do a quick Christmas card - masculine at that!

Using SP & Company's  Bold Sentiments II Holiday Stamp Set, I stamped one of the fun sentiments onto a piece of cardstock that was cut with the Spellbinders Labels Twenty One. A perfect fit!

And I know it is a masculine card which usually means no frills or twinkles- so I opted for kraft twine! But.....I had to add a snowflake with a bit of sparkle - couldn't help it!

My Designer paper, which I also bought from Scrapmaster's Paradise, is called Times & Seasons by Echo Park - LOVE the mustache paper!
