WMS Preview Day Three - Ornate Ornaments

Welcome to Day Three of Waltzingmouse Stamps previews!

Have our first two days inspired you?!! I know they have inspired me - all the beautiful designs that my other teammates have put together - just gorgeous!

Well today we have a down and out Christmas set - although it may seem a wee bit late - it is a gorgeous set and was not to be ignored lol!

This set co-ordinates with the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments! Perfect!

My first project is a simple Christmas card - I have made more than my share this month due to several craft shows we were in - holy man......fun to be involved but a lot of work....:)

 My second project is a few little tags - love making tags and I know I never have enough at Christmas time!  These little tags are full of a few instructions for the gift recipient - LOVE this!!

 

Well, don't forget about our Waltz tomorrow - which starts at 2:00 pm Eastern time.....there will be prizes!! woohoo!

WMS Preview Day One - Yonder Star and Yonder Star Background

Good day and welcome to Day One of Waltzingmouse Stamps November Release! We have three days of release previews along with our regular Release Day Waltz (with prizes!) on Day Four!

Today we are previewing Yonder Star and Yonder Star Backgrounds........

I inked up Yonder Star Background with several complimentary inks - this stamp is a whopper - 4 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches - you can cover a full card front with this baby!

I cut up the the inked sheet of Rustic Cream cardstock into squares and then zigzag sewed them back together with my Janome sewing machine.

A piece of Sweet Blush cardstock was die-cut with a sweet little edge and adhered under the background strips.

The star was embossed onto kraft cardstock with fine white embossing powder and hand cut to pop up onto my base.  After adding the sentiment and some pink sticky back gems - the outcome was more than I had imagined!

Cocoa!

Good morning! Today I have a card made from a My Favorite Things Wednesday sketch - every Wednesday a new sketch is posted in the Splitcoaststampers Forum and I like to use them - they are great!

I stamped the image from Who's That Girl Gets Cozy with Cocoa! three times......once on white cardstock and twice on patterned paper and then I just began to cut and piece - paper piece!  

I have said it before - I love to paper piece - I love to puzzle all those little pieces together and get a real kick when it all comes together!

My designer paper is from Simple Stories and is a 6x6 paper pad called Generations - love those muted colours!

I did a bit of sewing around the edges with my Janome Mini Sewing machine and die cut the Die-namics Let it Snowflake and used the medium and small snowflake for my embellishment, topped with a button and twine.

I must say, I had a bit of difficulty using the Snowflake die-namics when I used my Cuttlebug - but then I brought out the BIG GUN - the Grand Calibur! and it cut perfectly - so I think my poor little Cuttlebug is losing its umph..... 

I really would love a Vagabond - my poor arms get tired from all that cranking (yeh.... any excuse for something new! HAH!)

Anyway, I am off to Sarnia today with my daughter to her math class! Have a good one!

Cold Hands, Warm Heart

Today's card has another sentiment from Scrapmaster's Paradise's Big Sentiment II Holidays - love this set and I have gotten a lot of use from it this year!

I am hosting Christmas this year for my hubby's family - I thought there were 27 of us but someone told me last night to count again!! and there are 32 so what are 5 more?  yikes!!

Memories are Stitched with Love

Good Morning!

Another day with a card that I made while I was participating in the Virtual Stamp Night and Day at Splitcoaststampers!

There were challenges every hour for 5 hours on Friday night and then from noon until 11 pm on Saturday - CRAZY!! I could only stay until 2 o'clock, since we had plans.But I felt like I really rose to these challenges. Honestly it was nuts!! You had to challenge yourself to make your creation in 45 mnutes! and I was able to do it - holy.

This challenge was the Frosty Challenge. that is - you needed to make your image look frosty - there is a whole technique explained in the challenge and I was quite pleased with how it turned out!

 

I stamped the image from My Favorite Things Sew Nifty Stamp Set in Ripe Avocado and then over top (quickly) in Fresh Snow Ink.......then you just smudge your finger over the image, making the frosty look.......very cool!

You have until Monday to load up your challenge cards! Get to it!!

Nature and Accordians...?

Yes I know it sounds weird, but I'm going to say that it will all make perfect sense when I explain it!

The Cat's Pajamas have an inspiration challenge this week which is to be inspired by the following photo:

Well, I have nothing remotely associated with music, rock and roll or microphones when it comes to The Cat's Pajamas so I decided to make an ACCORDIAN BOOK!!! Doesn't that make perfect sense??!! Of course it does....erp..

I found the instructions for the accordian fold booklet on the resource page at Splitcoaststampers--a fabulous spot for so many instructions for projects!!

Lots of pictures for you from cover to last page!

I'm kind of feeling proud of myself for thinking outside the box! yay!
