Crazy 4 Challenges - Miss You

Good morning and welcome to another challenge week at Crazy 4 Challenges!  

This week Frances - who loves owls -  has challenged you to create something with an owl on it!  Easy right?!

I decided to use Neat and Tangled's stamp set Better Together since the sweet little girl is holding an owl.  I stamped her with Versafine black and coloured her with my new Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers -they are so cool - a great watercolored effect with the control of a marker.....fast and easy to use!

I also made a quick watercolour background on watercolored paper and added a tree branch and diecut some funky coloured leaves - just perfect in my opinion!

Awww.....I love this Neat & Tangled stamp set, Perfect Blend - it's all about coffee and I thought this sentiment was such a cute saying the minute I read it, so naturally I needed to use it on a card!

Little Tangles challenge is a sketch this month.....

I started by mixing up a light pink wash and painting stripes on my watercolour cardstock.  Then I highlighted the stripe with a bit of gold paint.  I stamped and embossed the sweet sentiment with platinum embossing powder.

After stamping the saucer on kraft cardstock and the "coffee" on watercolour cardstock, I diecut both images and popped up the "coffee".

I stamped and embossed the heart steam with platinum embossing powder.  After die cutting I adhered it to the coffee.

I popped up the coffee cup onto my handmade striped cardstock and then adhered that panel onto my kraft card base.

I finished by adding Pretty Pink Posh sequins - in light pink and clear!

July Mix It Up with Neat & Tangled

I decided that I really wanted to colour up my new Neat & Tangled - Say Yes to Donuts - stamp set and so I looked up a video on colouring donuts - I know right? so pathetic - I don't even know how to colour a donut.....ugh.

I found a great youtube video from Not2Shabby and basically copied it - I mean how many ways can there be to colour a donut?! It turns out - many.....

 Ellen Hutson's Mix It Up Challenge is with Neat & Tangled this week - so YES! it's kismet honestly....

I coloured up my imaged with my copic markers and die cut them using the available dies - this really is the cutest set ever!

My sentiment is from Essentials by Ellen Up the Happy - I LOVE the funky font in this set! and really - if you are eating donuts - then it's fun, just gotta BE!

I popped up the images onto watercolored cardstock - I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours to watercolour the background.....easy and FAST - all good.

There are only another day or two to enter this challenge so off I go!  Have a little FUN today!

Celebrate! Neat & Tangled

Hello - Well shoot.....It figures I'm a bit late (it's a theme) for entering the Fusion Challenge but not too late to enter the Little Tangles Challenge - which this week is Anything Goes!

I went Red, White and Blue to celebrate and used the beautiful Ornate Frames stamp set in a more casual look.  I wanted it to look like it was dangling from of a bunch of balloons stamped from Just For You. - (and it does)

I stamped the frame in three different colours of blue and in my bouquet of balloons I added red!  A few sequins were adhered to make it look like the frame is exploding in celebration (and it does)  - I'm a repeater ok?

....and here is a close up of the pretty font. I stamped it in red and then fussy cut it to pop up onto the frame - very cool!

Fusion Card Challenge - Sweet Orange Blossoms/Hummingbird

Fusion Card Challenge has a gorgeous photo and/or sketch challenge this week - I am still their guest and haven't been kicked out yet HAH!

Are you thoroughly confused by my title and my creation? Me too.  Although I love little hummingbirds and how they fly around fighting between themselves, darting all over and causing my family and myself to dive for COVER…..I decided to be inspired by the sketch (sort of).

I began by water colouring Clearly Besotted Floral swag from Fairytale Ending and die cutting with the matching dies.

Then, using the gorgeous Neat & Tangled Ornate Frames I stamped and die cut (matching dies) the rectangle frame.  On the inside rectangle I stamped one of the sweet sentiments from Papertrey Ink's Petite Places: Main Street Stamp Set.

I popped up the flowers onto the Ornate Frame and them popped the frame and sentiment panel up onto a piece of Polka Dot vellum.

Using the frame from Mama Elephant's Madison Avenue Framed tags - I die cut a white cardstock frame and inlaid it into the negative frame from a piece of patterned paper - clear as MUD?

I laid those frames on top of the vellum which was layered onto half of piece of Lovely Lady and Soft Stone cardstock.

I finished it off by adding a few enamel dots and iridescent sequins.

You Are My Sailmate

Good day!  Today I have another water/boat/seasickness creation - did I mention how I don't care for boats *turning green*

……and yet….I love the creation process and if water is the theme - then I'm all in!

Seize The Birthday has their birthday challenge up - of course - and the topping this week is "water".

I pulled out a slightly older set from Neat and Tangled called "Sailmates"- full of whimsical nautical images and sentiments.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the sailboat, adding the cute little heart on one of the sails.

I tucked the boat into some wavy patterned paper that has one layer popped up for interest.

The sentiment was stamped and I decided it was done….albeit a little too CAS for me so I added the frame from Mama Elephant's Madison Avenue Framed Tags - good thinking me HAH!
