Wishing You.....

I dug out my Verve set "Wishing You" again because I LOVE this font - can't seem to get enough of it! and so I have made a cheery get well card - the inside says "a very Speedy Recovery".

I think I have to decide who to send it to though.... we have so many friends or relatives ailing lately - colds and sniffles and more serious troubles - blech..... 

I framed the sentiment with Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage Labels No.4 - The frame was stamped in yellow and then the sentiment a bright red to match the gorgeous Cosmo Cricket Material Girl designer paper - yummy!

I used Mercy Kerin's MTSC68 sketch - it really fit perfectly for this card - the outline of every designer paper panel was sponged with ink to pull it all together......hope you like it!

I am off to enjoy the sunshine today - hubby is in Toledo at a remote control airplane show this weekend so I have the place to myself! I LOVE that - for awhile anyway!

I have a good friend who celebrated her birthday yesterday and this is the card I made for her special day! (It's in your mailbox Patsy!)

I combined Verve sentiments from "Wishing You" and the beautiful rose from Waltzingmouse Stamps "Roses in Bloom" .

The taupe Zva Creative Pearls are so gorgeous and I LOVE to cut them up and stick them where I need them to be - they are so versatile!

I stamped the sentiment onto Vintage Cream cardstock and cut it out with Spellbinders Labels Nine - love this shape!

The scallops are Spellbinders Border Petites,Big Scallops and I used some Bazzill Bling cardstock.

Off to my daughter's math class today - see you later!

A Twinkling Rest!

Good morning, it is Tuesday and that means another fabulous challenge from the wonderful Madelynn! When we started doing Madelynn's sketches, she was eight years old, but I hear through the grapevine that she has had a birthday so now she is NINE, and boy do her sketches show it LOL!!



Madelynn's sketches are always so interesting and sometimes quite a challenge and sometimes you just have to use your own interpretation of the sketch!!

That is what I did this week, as I sort of switched it up, but not really, but kinda....KWIM? I love how it turned out and if it wasn't for this sketch, then I never would have come up with it!!



You really can't go wrong with the gorgeous K & Company, Amy Butler patterned paper!

I paired it up with Papertrey Ink's Raspberry Fizz cardstock and one of Verve Stamps Plain Janes - although I always say there is nothing PLAIN about these stamps...... I love them all

I love the sentiment although with this paper I'm not sure if there will be too much rest involved LOL!! The sentiment is stamped with Papertrey Ink Raspberry Fizz ink and then cut out using the Labels Two die from Spellbinders.

It's not easy being green........**Twinkle**

It is time once again for Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday challenge and today Madelynn's little brother Nicky is the "Temporary Twinkie"!

Nicky likes frogs so today's challenge is to incorporate a frog into your card! If you don't have a frog stamp, which is entirely possible ;), then any other type of reptile will do!! Feel free to play along and leave the magic keyword MTTSC20!!



I just so happened to have a frog stamp and it's none other than Kermit the Frog!! My sketch is from CPS113 sketch this week, a perfect layout for Kermit!

I love this stamp but I only used a bit of it because the actual stamp also has frog feet all over it!! so I cut out the part I wanted and paper pieced it all over the place, his eyes, his little neck frill, his arms, his tongue and his mouth and then popped it up onto Papertrey Ink's 2008 Bitty Bot Basics Patterned paper which was cut out with the Spellbinders Labels Four die....whew....hand crampage....

I tore the K & Company paper across the width as per the CPS sketch, but it is kind of hard to tell. I guess I have the ribbon covering it...dang it! I wonder why I never notice those things until I get it up on the blog??.....

Featured Stamper and Pearls....

This is a SHORT post! My daughter is helping me do laundry and fold clothes and if she catches me in here, posting on my blog, she will probably walk out in disgust LOL!!

Today is a horribly overcast day and I could not get a good picture of this beautiful card (if I do say so myself!). The pearls just make the card don't you think??!

I started with Kraft cardstock as my base and then used K & Company designer papers, paper ribbon and even the butterfly is K & Company embellishments!

Now the stamp is one of Verve's Plain Jane stamps and it is stamped in Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate right onto the designer paper. I highlighted the card with some Hero Arts bling!!

I did sand a bit around the edges of the designer paper with my sander block to make it look a little vintage-y. I am quite happy with the way it turned out!

Hearts on Fire Valentine!

Well, can you tell I am luvin' my new Verve Stamps!??

I used the Hearts on Fire stamp set and popped up one of the hearts......



The base is Kraft cardstock of course, run through the Textile Texture Cuttlebug folder and with a Snow Cap paint dabber ran around the edges.

I used my treading water punch to add some scallops to the Dark Rose Prismatics cardstock which is extended out both sides of the card for a bit of added interest (and also to put in a bigger envelope!)

That is white rafia wrapped around the scalloped piece- found it in my ribbon drawer and said "Why not!?"

WT203, Bottoms Up!

Thursday's Ways to Use it Challenge - was ways to use alcohol - alcohol inks or anything to do with alcohol!



I chose to use alcohol inks and inked up a Heidi Swapp ghost butterfly with Cranberry alcohol ink and the mixative pearl swirl to give it a little bit of shine.

I also traced around the butterfly with the Sakura Stardust glitter pen and the first part of the sentiment with the glitter pen to make it so nice and glittery!!





Snowcap Paint Dabber was applied around the edge of the card to brighten it up a bit.

Now don't look too close at the sewing - I had my bobbin in upside-backwards for part of it - but I won't tell you which part!

Cupcake-a-licious!

A little Verve-a-liciousness today!! Cupcake City!! Warm and Fuzzy felt stuff to go along with it!!

That is the challenge this week on Embellish-It Scrapbooking! Ching had the honours this week and her challenge was to create something with felt, out of felt, with felt attached.

I attached a little felt heart (not to be mistaken for heartfelt, and a little felt button from my Fancy Pants Designs Felt Shapes to the side of my Cupcake - to make it yummy! not that it could be any yummier!




I actually used my pink liquid applique!!! - yes, I have been hoarding it for just that special occasion.......which is..........um............a very special occasion that is soon coming my way that I may need pink liquid applique for - THAT is why I am hoarding it!

Oh, who knows why I hoard things???!!!

The card is made from Basic Grey Urban Prairie designer paper and the Cupcake is from Verve Stamps of course, and that set is called Cupcake Affair - love it!!

Here we go..........on a personal note, I took Holly to a doctor's appointment yesterday and I got the nerve up to ask about my breast ultrasound.

After all, it has been almost 3 weeks and no one has let me know anything!

The report says it is just a cyst and to keep up the mammograms. Well, you think they could have called and told me that.

Anyway, I walked down the hall and started crying - right out of the blue!! I guess I was more worried than I thought.

I think I will go and have a Cupcake Affair right now!! to celebrate of course!

I stamped the Stamping Bella Professafella in Brilliance Black ink and coloured him up with copics.

The Great Expectations sentiment from Verve Stamps was stamped on the chalkboard, and then I mounted the image on The Basic Grey Archaic paper - perfect for a masculine card!!

A couple of Buttons and done!!

Here is the whole card that I was being sneaky about in this post!! You have to travel over to Embellish It Scrapbooking's Design Team's gallery and checked out the awesome masculine and Fall items this month.

This card features the fabulous Fancy Pants design paper - the Papa Collection which is fabulous for masculine cards and for all your Autumn creations as well!

I used the Diamonds in the Rough Cuttlebug folder and then took my sandpaper and lightly roughed it up for a "manly" effect!!



The Verve set Polka Dot Stars was stamped in versamark on to the DP and then embossed with fine gold embossing powder - worked out great - don't you think??!!

The colours are wonderful rich, rusts, golds and blues which compliment this season perfectly!

I am on vacation and won't be back until the 20th or so, but I am trying to prepost some things for you so keep on peeking back to see!!

Barb sent us some awesome papers to work with this month. The Fancy Pants "Papa" papers
are fabulous to work with and my cards really came together this month - sometimes it's HARD (whiny voice here)!! LOL!

This card uses the Fancy Pants paper with the sentiment built right in - which makes it rather simple!

I'm sure the Verve lovers will recognize the Verve Polka Dot stamp from this peek. I stamped it on the designer paper and then embossed it with find gold embossing powder! Fun!

Delightfully Monochromatic!

I hardly ever do the colour challenge on Splitcoast Stampers because I hardly ever have the right colours! - *cough*lame

But today was monochromatic, which means YES, I have the colour - which is any colour - a whole lot of times!!


I chose the Summer Sunrise colour from Papertrey Ink and the corresponding Father Knows Best patterned paper for my monochromatic scheme - hereafter referred to colour - because typing monochromatic is too long to keep typing!




The sentiment is from Verve Stamps, part of a line of "Plain Janes" which are absolutely gorgeous and nothing plain about them!

I stamped it in Summer Sunrise ink onto a 2 1/2" square of Papertrey Ink white cardstock.

The ribbon is - you guessed it-- Summer Sunrise satin ribbon and yes, the bow is wonky, but I was too cheap lazy to grab a longer piece and so I had to tie it a million times and this is the lessest wonky I could come up with... LOL!!

It is another gorgeous day in Southwestern Ontario, and the first day of school for "our" kids - meaning the neighbourhood - YAY!

I plan to get outside, get my hands dirty with something other than my beloved ink and do some much needed yard work!!

IC143 - No Small Miracles.....

It is really no small miracle that I finished this Inspiration Challenge today!! LOL!

Things are getting in the way of me playing - don't you just hate that??!!! Anyway here it is in all it's glory........

I love these Crafty Secrets notebook papers! and although you know that I LOVE stamping - these are a great alternative when making a card or whatever else it is you make!!

This page is from the Crafty Secrets Birds & Botanicals Image and Journal notes.

I layered it onto a piece of Papertrey Ink Everyday Blessings designer paper that was all distressed up and set it aside.

I used my Aged Sheet Music Scrapblock and stamped it onto Close to Cocoa cardstock with New Canvas Palette Ink.

The beautiful sentiment is from the Verve Stamp set Beautiful You and it is perfect for this image!!

I sewed a piece of Papertrey Ink swiss dot ribbon to some Melissa Francis vintage ribbon and attached it to the Close to Cocoa, added some Primas and buttons and Inspiration Challenge is done for another week - unless, of course, I am inspired again, which could very possibly happen!! YAY!!

Today is my last day being Jen del Muro's Guest Designer *sniff*.

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed this past month with her team!! Take a boo over to her site to see my last card and give Jen some love, because she was so dang kind to me , making me feel all special with her oo-ing and ahhh-ing over my cards!! She is the perfect hostess!!

Stars and Swirls and Dots....

and ripping apart and putting together!

Why would this card cause me such grief, you ask?

I don't know I answered....just one of those things.....

I ripped and tore and finally got it to where it is not so bad!!

All the ink used is Tim Holtz Distress Ink, that I got at Cornish Heritage Farms. The Old Paper is what I used for the stars and is the closest to the Kraft paper!! Almost an exact match!!


These stars and sentiment are from Verve Visual's set Polka Stars-Clear and I have had them for ages! I just have never inked them up - how AWFUL is that???


Just one of those things, ya know - no not today, no it doesn't go with what I am doing.....craziness....


The kraft paper is from Stampin' UP! and I got it from Kim Reid when she placed a big order and included mine!! Thanks Kimmie!!


I stamped the Large Polka Dots backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms in Old Paper distress Ink and then the Hero Arts Design Block Flouish background in Broken China distress ink.


The swirly background was a free stamp from the Paper Pickle because I am such a great customer and I spend kazillions of $$$$ at the store everytime I got in I think they feel sorry for me and throw in a fabulous stamp for free!! Hubby says " and well they should"!! - but he says that about anywhere I get stamps.... aren't hubbies grand!!


The base of my card, I think, is Ballet blue from Stamping UP! but I can't remember the name -how awful is that! ETA: I think it is Blue Bayou- I saw it over on A Necessary Creativy (check her out - gorgeous creations!!)

Well, I have to run, hubby has me on a marathon gardening session today ----3 loads of mulch and now he has gone to get 4 more loads-ugh I'll be glad tomorrow because it will look so beautiful!!

But my back won't thank him!!

I'm in Love, I'm in Love, I'm in Love!!

Why do I feel like making a Valentine's card NOW!?

Because I got an order in from Cornish Heritage Farms this morning and this beautiful French Script background stamp was amongst the order!!

Once I had a look at it, I said oooooooOO! I luvitIluvitIluvit!!

I took some leftover My Mind's Eye polka dot paper that I had used in the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast Stampers, and stamped the French Script in Dew Drop Brilliance White right on top of the polka dots.

It is such a fine print stamp and it came out beautifully! So I embossed it with white Whispers embossing powder and I loved the look!!

I cut it to show some of the scrolling on the Mind's Eye paper and to fit onto my white base of Papertrey Ink white cardstock.

I cut a piece of white cardstock, scalloped it with my corner rounder and then used the crop-a-dile to make some embossed dots. I added some pink lace to the edge of that and adhered it to my card.

I cut out two hearts with the nestabilities heart dies, and used the negative heart and the positive heart. I stamped my sentiment "I Love You" from Verve Visual onto the heart and popped both of them up.

That was it!! I can't get the colour to come out properly with this silly photo, but the pinks are a gorgeous salmon-y pink. I think it is very pretty - if I do say so myself!! LOL!

Furry Friend!

Maybe not real fur! But fake fur for sure!

I was over at Marcie's this afternoon for a stamping party and managed to get a couple of cards done!

She had so many girls over there giggling and stamping and grabbing for glue and scissors and paper and ink, it's a wonder I got anything done at all!! LOL!!

I had to come home and re-do the snowbunny bella card because I couldn't concentrate on it!

I'm not really sure about it, but as I say, it is what it is!!

This card is for Kraftin' Kimmies Celebration Challenge #5 - paper piecing.

I stamped Snowbunnybella once on white cardstock and again on some dotted paper Marcie had in her scrap drawer. I cut out the coat and adhered it to the first stamped image. Then I coloured her face and legs with the copic markers. Her boots and behind her head is done with turquoise glaze pen!

Then I outlined her in a very light blue marker. I think it makes her pop out more.

I Cuttlebugged the bottom half of the back ground paper which is cardstock and Daisy D's Maybe Baby paper with the embossing folder.

I used my corner rounder to make a scalloped edge and punched some holes in it too.

I tied some ribbon and a flower around the top and popped up my image. I stamped the My Favorite Things, Essential Sentiments "Kids with Fur" sentiment and popped it up too!

I added puff paint to the furry parts of her outfit, heated it up and out it popped!! Magic!!

This next card is also for Kraftin' Kimmies Celebration Challenge only for #6. We are supposed to make a thank you card and do something nice for someone today!

No, I didn't bake a pie but I did take my stamping stuff over to Marcie's and let her friends use it. I did cringe the whole time but the point is I did it!!

I don't know why I take offense at someone touching my stamping things...it is some kind of phobia ---- maybe "agityourcottonpickinhandsoffmystuffaphobia" I have heard of that.

This paper is Basic Grey Gypsy, another beautiful pack of paper!! The stamp is from Clearly Wordsworth and this set has so many cute little people! There is a golfer, a nurse, a cowgirl and a mother....and then all the saying with it.....very cool!

I stamped this image on a tag, my inspiration was from Michelle Wooderson's card here.

I coloured her with my copics and added two little blings from Verve Visual. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things, Essential Sentiments set.

That's about it for today!! I think I have had a couple or more posts so I better pack it in and spend some quality time with Rosie so she will stop chewing up things.......oh yeh, .......hubby too...LOL!!!
