Featured Stamper Challenge Susiestampalot

This is my Featured Stamper challenge card for this week. The Featured stamper was Susiestampalot with a fantastic gallery that you can see here and this is her card that I chose to case.

I used the Spellbinders Apron die to cut out the image in Kraft paper from Papertrey Ink.

I faux stitched around the edges with my white gel pen. there are embossed stitches from the die, but you couldn't see them that well with this thick of paper, I didn't think so anyway.

I added the aqua coloured designer paper from My Mind's Eye and then the sentiment over top.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Boards and Beams set.

I thought that the apron would go well with this sentiment.

I used the Cuttlebug flower die and topped it with a flower from Little Paper Shop's Endless Arrangement stamp set, then topped that with a pearl bauble from Stamping Bella!

Some Melissa Frances lace and brads and it was done!!

Papertrey Blog Hop!

I am still using those tall megabilities - love them too!


Okay, if it has to do with crafting- I LOVE IT!!


For this card I scored the Papertrey Ink Spring Moss cardstock on a diagonal and folded it in half. Then I ran it through the tall nestabilities with the fold at the top and the die a little bit off the top of the paper so it would keep the fold.


Then I ran a piece of white Stampers Select cardstock and Summer Sunrise cardstock through the same tall megabilities die, (not at the same time) eyeballed (Rachael Ray again...) and cut it to match up with the scallops in the card.


I stamped the sentiment in Spring Moss Ink on the white cardstock, lined it up with the Summer Sunrise cardstock and adhered it to the card where I thought it was please to my eye! The sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink's Simple Little Things. (Sorry, this is not available for sale!)


I used the Cuttlebug flower die set and cut the flowers out of Stampers Select White and Summer Sunrise cardstock. Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Blooms stamp set has some flowers in this set that match up with this Cuttlebug flower die! I stamped the bottom flower on the die cut in Summer Sunrise ink and then added some brads to the flowers!

I popped them up on pop up glue dots and added them to the card to finish it of! Perfect!

Still Hot Granny!!

Framed Birthday Quote!

I was soooo inspired by Amy Rysavy's Coaster Picture Frame Tutorial and I wanted to do something like that, and not just because I have about 94 coasters (not a word of a lie!).

Well, you know how it goes.....it didn't quite turn out the way I had planned it but I like the finished product just the same!!

I also knew that I wanted to use my new Anniversary Set from Papertrey Ink. (Sets like these, kind of stump me, so I had to go and blurf around to see what people were doing with it!!)

I noticed that a lot of Anniversary owners were designing their own paper, so that is what I decided to do!!

I took some Papertrey Ink Spring Moss cardstock and one of the stamps from the Anniversary set and inked it up with Papertrey Ink Spring Moss Ink.

I stamped it in a pattern and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I took white ink and inked up another stamp in between to add a bit of depth. It is VERY difficult to see the white ink in this picture, but I think if you click on it you will be able to see it.

I cut out a frame from a chipboard coaster using the scalloped square nestabilities and a smaller plain square nestabilities on the inside. Then I took some My Mind's Eye Paper that I got on sale and did the same thing to it.

I glued the patterned paper to the coaster and had a pretty frame!!

I stamped the sentiment which is from Birthday Basics, Papertrey Ink on a white piece of cardstock and mounted it behind the frame.

I still thought it looked rather bare so I took some more Spring Moss paper and again cut it out with the scalloped nestabilities to make another smaller frame.

I paper pierced around the edges for a little bit of decoration and glued it on top of the frame.

Then I glued the whole frame onto my cardstock that I had designed myself!!

I used a French Script Cornish Heritage Farm backgrounder and stamped some Olive Staz On ink onto a Maya Road sheer blossom.

I finally used a decorative brad that I have been hoarding because someday I may not be able to ever buy embellishments again and so I have to have these brads!! (overboard) and attached it to the frame to decorate it up a bit.

Of course, it still seemed blah......so I took the Martha Stewart edge punch along the bottom of the card, and adhered some white cardstock behind!

Boo hoo!! I didn't get golfing today.....too much to do in the barn.....but maybe tomorrow......oh wait.....tomorrow is math class again for Holly.......well perhaps Wednesday!! Oh please- Wednesday!!

Stationary for Mom.....!

Boy, was there a bunch of great projects this week in blogland!! and this is a loooonggg post, so pull up a chair and relax!!

Michelle Wooderson has a fabulous stationary set that she made up for her daughter, and I know my mom would love it for Mother's Day too!!

I actually thought I would buy the K & Company paper that Michelle used so that it would be exactly as pretty as her's .....but......(and I am sooo proud of myself!) I used some paper I already HAD!!

It was in a pack of paper that I received with a handy dandy Generations scrapbook tote - I take all my supplies in it when I got to Marcie's house to play!!

The base of the card is Berry Sorbet Perfect Match cardstock by Papertrey Ink. I cut 5 sheets of 8 1/2" x 11 in half, some lengthwise and some cross wise, scored them at the halfway point and folded them.

I cut a 12 x 12 sheet of DP into 9 pieces , each 4" x 4", and adhered them to the top of the card base and set them aside.

My Technique Tuesday Williamsburg small alphabet is not as teeny as the Simple Alphabet, that Michelle used, so I only spelled out "from my desk".

I stamped that on 4" x 1" strips of white cardstock and glued it to the bottom of the Berry Sorbet cardstock.

I stamped my Big Ol' Backgrounds Polka Dot stamp from C.C. Designs, with Pineapple Ink by Paper Salon on the yellow paper, also from the Generations tote, and cut it into 4 1/2" x 1" strips and adhered it on top of the card, in between the dp and the sentiment-- KWIM?

I used my nestabilities to cut and emboss white circles and Berry Sorbet scalloped circles and stamped my mom's initial on the front -"J" for Jessie -with the Ambassador Monogram Stamp Set from Papertrey Ink.

Then I stamped the dotted circle with the Borders and Corners Circles Stamp set and popped it up on the card and it was done!

I was able to make 9 cards - an odd number for sure - but I packaged up 4 cards for my mom and then 5 thank you cards for my friend who is having a ROTTEN time right now.

The "thank you" sentiment is from "Simple Little Things" - the FREE Anniversary set from Papertrey Ink --such a freaking COOL set!! with several sentiments and images for your use!!

I also used Boxes, Bags and Tags for the tag and Limitless Labels to stamp on the "for you" sentiment!

I packaged them up in a clear stationary box that I got from Papertrey Ink awhile ago. I can't find them now but I think they still have them. If I find them I will provide the link.


I tied it up with some Berry Sorbet swiss dot satin ribbon and attached the tag


Way back when- a loooonngggg time ago, I used to make jewelry and I have a ton of beads and charms and tools left over, so I scrounged through and found the "Faith" charm and attached it to my friends ribbon, just for a little bit of comfort.

I used 7 different stamp sets on this set-but it didn't seem like I was switching sets all the time! It was all fun to see it come together!!

Curvy Sweet Pea!

This is the most adorable stamp that I am using today from Lockhart Stamp Company!

It is called Sweet Pea and I bought it at Ellen Hutson's store, which, by the way is called Ellen Hutson LLC!!

I bought a new edge punch at Michael's because I had a 20% off coupon off the ENTIRE purchase!!

So I took advantage and bought a few things.....namely this Martha Stewart border punch. I love it!

The sentiment is from Stamping Up and is from the set called Curvy Verses.

Cardstock and ribbon is Sweet Blush from Papertrey Ink Perfect Match collection and the DP is DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Girl pack.

I cut and embossed the image with nestabilities and then cut and embossed the scalloped edge.

A few paper piercing holes and some white gel pen and it is done and soooooo dang cute!!

Celebrate Today!!

Well, personally I think we should celebrate any day that we wake up breathing!!

I used Basic Grey Two Scoops paper and Papertrey Ink Aquamist for the base.

I tied Papertrey Ink swiss dot satin ribbon around the patterned paper and added an opaque flower and tied it ala Amy Rysavy.

I used the Mixed Messages stamp set from Papertrey Ink to stamp the sentiment "celebrate today" and then the Borders and Corners square set to stamp around the sentiment.

I cut it out with my nestabilities and popped it up on the card!

So easy....and I luv this one too!!

I'm in Love, I'm in Love, I'm in Love!!

Why do I feel like making a Valentine's card NOW!?

Because I got an order in from Cornish Heritage Farms this morning and this beautiful French Script background stamp was amongst the order!!

Once I had a look at it, I said oooooooOO! I luvitIluvitIluvit!!

I took some leftover My Mind's Eye polka dot paper that I had used in the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast Stampers, and stamped the French Script in Dew Drop Brilliance White right on top of the polka dots.

It is such a fine print stamp and it came out beautifully! So I embossed it with white Whispers embossing powder and I loved the look!!

I cut it to show some of the scrolling on the Mind's Eye paper and to fit onto my white base of Papertrey Ink white cardstock.

I cut a piece of white cardstock, scalloped it with my corner rounder and then used the crop-a-dile to make some embossed dots. I added some pink lace to the edge of that and adhered it to my card.

I cut out two hearts with the nestabilities heart dies, and used the negative heart and the positive heart. I stamped my sentiment "I Love You" from Verve Visual onto the heart and popped both of them up.

That was it!! I can't get the colour to come out properly with this silly photo, but the pinks are a gorgeous salmon-y pink. I think it is very pretty - if I do say so myself!! LOL!

Isn't she so cute!! There are a lot of Tweet's and sentiments on the sheet of rubbah that you get......and such an easy image to colour! She's pur-DEE!

Besides the fact that I have new stamps to use, and I was dying to do these......I have an ulterior motive for doing a bird card.



My dog Rosie, HATES birds! She stalks them, at the window, in the house, out of the house.


She chases them and they taunt her, and because she wears a jingly, jangly collar - they know when she is coming near and fly away - only to swoop down at her - just to torture!!


So then, WHY, you ask, are you making a bird card. Well.......I will tell you.

SOMEBODY peed on my carpet in my stamp room sometime between last night and this morning.


I went down to stamp this morning and there, right where I stand, was a puddle, in the carpet!!! UGH!!


So that is why I am making a bird card......


I used Basic Grey Lily Kate paper, bling from Verve Visual, my daughter's copics (because I was watching Jake this afternoon, yay! and the copics were right there...so....and the lucsious ribbon that I bought from Cosco, my nestabilities and, the Pink Cat Studio stamp set Tweet!!

I wonder what she is thinking......

Oh this little girl is soooo sweet!

I have seen her in the Stamping Up catalogue, and always thought, no way, too hard. Well, then I received her in my Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers (2) swap, from AnnMarie, hi AnnMarie!! and I thought I would give it a shot!

We have so much snow here, and it is so darn miserable out, that this little girl gives me the shivers, standing there in her cute little dress!

I colored her with my copics and mounted her on a scalloped oval from my nestabilities.

The base of the card is cardstock from Walmart and sei designer papercalled Granny's Kitchen. It is so nice to work with and I LOVE browns and turquoises! (is THAT a word?!)

The sentiment is a well-known verse and it says "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." It is a stamp from Papertrey Ink's "Out on a Limb", a gorgeous set with so many pretty sayings.

I am going to be posting some things I have been working on with this set, later.

The ribbon is 1 " beautiful chocolate ribbon from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

How do you like my little flapper weather girl? I saw her over at Tracy's blog and I couldn't resist! although I don't like the temperature she is telling me! but I think it is better than out in Calgary, where it was -29 the other day!! YIKES!

Friday night!!! Remember when you could hardly wait for Friday nights because they were date night....well tonight, hubby is out in the shop working on his ice hut so he can go ice fishing......oh well, that just means a stamping day for me!!

Valentine squeeze....

I have been asked to make some Valentine's for a Grandma (capital "G") for her grandchildren. Two 12 year old boys and two 8 year old boys - yikes!!

I decided that CC Designs Little Bits sets would work perfectly!!

I stamped and coloured the lion and then stamped and coloured his face again, so that I could cut out the mane.

I popped up the mane on the first coloured image, cut the tongs off a heart brad and popped it up on the popped up mane!! (sounds confusing)

The sentiment was stamped and cut out with my BRAND NEW Heart Nestabilities!! with some paper piercing around the edge of the heart. My slot punch was used on the heart and some red ribbon was tied around that slot.

The Designer paper is sei Granny's Kitchen and it is glued on light blue, brown and red cardstock, and then the whole thing is backed on Papertrey Ink's white cardstock for the base.

Very Easy!! I don't know if 8 or 12 year olds will appreciate it but I think it will work!!

I keep forgetting to mention about my Papertrey Ink experience!!

In December, I had ordered the Ambassador Monogram stamp set with a couple of other sets (yeah -SO??!!) from Papertrey Ink. They sent me my other sets okay, but not the Ambassador Monogram set. Instead they had sent the Trajan monogram set - which is a great set also!

I used it here on this card. So I emailed them and let them know that I would return the Trajan monogram set, but please send me the Ambassador that I had ordered. So then they emailed back and apologized and said they could see the mistake and would stick the Ambassador monogram set in the mail right away AND I could keep the Trajan monogram stamp set!!! HOW GREAT IS THAT!!

Honestly, the service at Papertrey Ink is fabulous!! And, I have got enough stamp sets now that I get the free one in February!!! YIPPEE!!

Just Mucking About!!

While I was making this card, I thought "I almost miss gathering my eggs and mucking about in the barn" - the operative word being "almost""!



Since we have Jake this week, my son is gathering the eggs and doing the other "yucky" chores!! Thanks Andy!



This pretty plaid paper is from daisy d's 6 x 6 sidewalk chalk swatches (whew! say that 3 times FAST!!). There are 24 double sided pages and this week they are only $3.37! I bought them at Jacksonbelle Embellishments where everything is 25% off this week!!


I stamped and coloured the image from the Punny Farm stamp set at My Favorite Things, with my copics and cut her out with the oval nestabilities.


The dark purple cardstock was cuttlebugged with the texture embossing folder. I used this because it looks like my grandma's wallpaper and I find comfort in ANYTHING that could be my grandma's!!


That is layered onto that gorgeous coral cardstock that I bought at The Town Scrapper, my local scrapbook store - LSS.



I popped up the image, stamped on the sentiment from My Favorite Things and added some ribbon and some hearts. The hearts are from a heart punch I have and I used the coral cardstock again!

Edited to Add: Sharon (notimetostamp) posted a mini-challenge today using cuttlebugged cards - I forgot to mention that I entered this card in her challenge. I never know if the challenges on other blogs are for everyone or just design teams, but I LOVE my cuttlebug so I thought "well, I can't get fired"! so I just let her see it!!


Pretty easy card, I must say. I think I will send it to myself!!

Be Mine Little Penguin....

I so LOVE this stamp set!!.....again, I think I start almost every post this way!!

But seriously, he is sooooo dang cute!!

I broke out the Basic Grey Periphery pad and actually used some paper from it!

I don't know what it is about a NEW paper pad, but I detest using it-for fear I will use it up - I mean look what happened to my Figgy Pudding! GONE!! Well, I could probably scrounge up some scraps - but come on!

This little guy is from CC Designs and is EZ Mounted Little Penguins - that is they are all cut out and ready to be used. As soon as they arrived from All That Scraps, I opened up the package and started stamping - so freakin' FUN!!

Pengy (as I lovin'ly call him - hard "g" by the way) was colored with my copics and I used my NEW copic glitter pen for the little flowers - this pen is similar to the Sakura glitter pen but apparently it has ground up glass in it to make it REALLY **sparkle** Personally, I couldn't really tell the difference, but I guess I will have to use it ALOT!! *wink* and I will tell you again what I think....

I cut him out and embossed him with my nestabilities, then adhered him on various shapes and sizes of my beloved Periphery (I know, I know - my Figgy was beloved too-and it was!)

Scrappin' Great Deals has nestabilities, by the way, and they have new shapes and sizes in too!! Don't forget about her Wednesday sale 9:00 am - 9:00 pm, but she usually posts it about Tuesday night at 9:00 pm, so you can get in on it early!!

I used my white gel pen to make white scallops around the scalloped square and then popped the whole thing up onto the back ground of - yes - you guessed it- Periphery!!

The little tag was cut out with the small tag Cuttlebug die and then stamped with "be mine" by Papertrey Ink's Limitless Labels.

I tied it on with some Stamping Up celery ribbon (I can't BELIEVE I am starting to know the colors..... yay me!) and done!!

Nestabilities Storage.....finally!

My daughter Marcie came over today and we brain-stormed on how to store these dang nestabilites.



You know I LOVE them to pieces, but they have been in the packages since I got them, and of course they end up ALL over the place when I go to use them.

I had bought some magnetic tape awhile ago from Home Hardware but it was only strong enough to hold a sheet of paper on your fridge - not for these babies!!

Hubby pointed out, oh-so-helpfully, that I had I bought the wrong kind of magnetic tape-(they didn't have anything else, but that was beside the point).

So then I tried Home Depot, and they had something a little different. Just a large roll of magnetic strip!

So we taped it to my closet door in my scrap room and VOILA!! You can grab them so much easier now, then when they were in a pile!!

Nestabilities for the taking!!

My Favorite Things Challenge

Well, we are so snowed in here in Southern Ontario that I was able to spend time in my stamping room!! YAY!

I cruised around SCS and found the sketch challenge from My Favorite Things. I have just started doing challenges and they are so fun! There is no pressure, if you want to do it great! if you don't - no big deal! But I'm telling you...it is fun.....!

I used the stamp set Hearts Galore my My Favorite Things. I colored it with copics, adhered it to an oval cut out nestabilities,and then paper pierced around the scallops for a cute little effect!

I used the hearts cuttlebug folder for the pink crossways panel and then I took some sandpaper and distressed it a bit. That kind of paper has a white inside so it is really easy to do!

Patterned paper is Karen Neuburger Serenity - glitter blossom - isn't it pretty?

The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things stampset Hearts Galore, but I just stamped the last line of the "Roses are Red" poem.

I didn't want the whole thing on there and the last line seemed very appropriate!

The edges were distressed on that with the Heidi Swapp edge distresser. You know, there is no de-stressing to distressing. That little piece of paper ripped twice, so I had to re-do it again. The edge destresser is not hard to use at all, just that piece of paper was hard to distress and hold on to it at the same time!

I popped up the stamped image with dimensionals and added 3 little white heart brads from Making Memories.

Diplomabella Challenge.....

We are soooo snowed in around here.....my poor puppy went outside to pee and when she jumped off the step she went under the snow!! She managed to back up the steps and came back in.....but then of course she still had to pee, so out she went and squeezed in behind the bushes at the side of the house....and I am presuming she did her thing back there...... I didn't follow her to check!! LOL!! It's freakin' crazy out there!


We can't get out to go anywhere or do anything.....there is too much snow even to toboggan.....hubby got his 4-wheeler stuck so he is soooo pouty.....on his birthday no less!! So I cruised around SCS and found a couple of challenges....one from Stamping Bella and one from My Favorite Things.

The Stamping Bella challenge was a color challenge and the colors were pink, black and sky blue. You can see the gallery here.

No offense at all to Stamping Up, but I was happy that they weren't Stamping Up colors because I never know what color they really are. I am not Stamping Up - although I LOVE their products - so the names of some of those colors - whew!

This cute little girly is Diplomabella. I colored her gown black and her boots and chest ribbon thingy (what is that really called?!) my version of sky blue.

I cut her out so that the bottom of her was FREE!!! I wanted it to look like she was against a blackboard...I think it does....

I adhered her to pink and black cardstock cut out with my rectangle scalloped nestabilites.

The black cardstock has sky blue ribbon wrapped around it. Well, it was white ribbon but I colored it with my Copics so it was all good.

Copics are so great for coloring ribbon! You need to wait about 15 minutes for it to dry and it will make your ribbon a bit stiffer, so take that into consideration if (when) you do it! Try it!!

The sentiment is from Autumn Leaves "Ledger Tabs" stamp set and the two little doo-dads on either side of the Ledger Tab are from Papertrey Ink "Faux Ribbon" stamp set.

Geez, my puppy wants out again so I have to go and make sure she doesn't drown out there!!

Crazy for Paisley!

Today's challenge on SCS was an Inspiration Challenge, the idea this week being to look at the picture and get some sort of inspiration.

Well, I took one look at the picture which is here, and I LOVED IT!!

Oh my goodness, I could have jumped through my computer and hugged that dish set.
It is freakin' beautiful!!!.....however, I am guessing that I am just going to have to settle for being inspired by it......hmph.....(as Stamping Bella would say)


Paisley, Paisley PAISLEY!! I chose to be inspired by the paisley.

I have loved paisley since my mom made me a midi (calf length) skirt out of purple paisley when I was 15 years old- no kidding!!

I wore it when she married my step-dad....there should even be a picture around somewhere, I mean it WAS a wedding.....if I can find one I will post it.

I also remember wrecking it later by trying to hem it up myself to a mini skirt. The hem looked like TOILET PAPER ROLLS had been stuffed all around it!! .......ROFL!!!.....I never could sew!!

Anyway, I stamped Technique Tuesday, Crazy for Paisley all over Papertrey Ink white cardstock, and trimmed it to 4" x 5 1/4", just a 1/4" smaller than card size - so I could mount it on MORE cardstock....

I colored the background with copics and then the paisley's (if that is a word) with what I thought was inspiring!!

I cut out the scalloped circles with my nestabilites and stamped the "B" for Bonnie (me) with Papertrey Ink Trajan Monogram, and surrounded it with Papertrey Ink Border and Corners - Circle.

There is ALWAYS the question on Papertrey Ink "What is the proper initial to use for a monogram? First or last initial?"

After doing a bit of research, I found that "The Monogram Page" says in essence, that any one of the initials is correct, so, do it whichever dang way you want!! So I chose to use my first initial....

I glued some white ribbon to the paisley paper and attached it to the turquoise cardstock. Then I popped up the scalloped circles and stamped image with dimensionals. I tied another piece of white ribbon around the original ribbon (because I always only glue the ribbon at the back in case I want to add a bow - or half bow - or whatever you call that tie thingy.... phhthh!!)

There was a lot of coloring in this card!! But it turned out quite pretty (and bright!)

It is snowing like the dickens here!! (I think that means it is a LOT of snow) We are supposed to get a BIG storm in southern Ontario so hopefully we can dig out and get to church in the morning.

This time of year our church is at 11:30 am so they MAY have the roads cleared out by then. Our church is part of a 3-point charge, which means that our minister has 3 churches to preach in every Sunday.....she does a lot of driving - AND talking!! 9:00 am, 10:15 am, and 11:30 am. Only fifteen minutes of (probably nutso) driving in between each service!!

Off to watch the snow come down!!

Today it was Verve Visual day. Some mighty beautiful stamps in this package- oh my gosh I can hardly wait to use them.....along with paper....and some Tim Holtz scissors so that I can cut the stamps so very easily!

They work terrifically! I didn't have to cut with my tongue once!

And blue stickles from Verve too, which I am wondering right now where they are......hubby came racing up to the house at lunchtime and I had to shove them in my pocket.


My ex-brother-in-law was cooking lunch for the hunters today, so I said I would go down and eat with them.

So, the whole time I was thinking about the poor deer they killed and then that got me thinking about how many deer stamps I have......it was crazy! Finally, I got out of there and was able to go up to the house and stamp!!

Actually, our deer population needs thinning out badly!! Everyday, around here about 4 get hit on the road.....and they are all inbreeding......so they end up smaller and smaller and runts.....thus THE HUNT.


Although we probably won't sell a lot of Christmas cards this weekend, being this far along in the season, I can't stop making them. Besides the fact that I have sooooo much Christmas paper to use up, I love making Christmas cards.....they are so pretty!



My card is pretty basic, and I can go back to this layout anytime if (when) I have to make a card in a hurry. It looks a little yellow - bad lighting in the basement - and I don't know how to use my Photoshop very well - sorry!


I cuttlebugged the top portion and then divided it with ribbon, then I used my nestabilities to cut a square and a scalloped square. Papertrey Ink Borders and Corners square set was stamped around the image - the snowflake is so old, the label is worn off, I don't know where it is from!

I used Papertrey Ink Holiday Wishes stamp set for the sentiment.


So easy and quick! I think I am done for the evening......

Sweet New Baby!

A new card for a sweet baby girl! I don't know whose baby girl, but I have it just the same!


Paper is Papertrey Ink for the base - the best paper evah!!


The stamp is from the dollar store -- it was kind of cute and I don't really have a baby stamp per say - I probably have a lot of stuff to make a baby card - but not a stamp with a baby on it - you understand....


Paper is from Basic Grey---Phoebe (I think) --if it isn't I will change it later ( I am too lazy to go run downstairs to check) I KNOW it is Basic Grey.


I colored her with my prisma pencils that I got at My Favorite Things and gamsol and adhered her to some square scalloped nestabilites.


I love working with the pencils and gamsol -it is just like magic when you use the gamsol. It seems to melt the pencil marks and blends everything together!


Also, IMO, because they don't come out so dark I can shade them better and I have not quite got the hang of the copics yet. They seem to bleed when I use them (yuck-that sounds gross!)


The flower is from Prima and the glitter flower center is from Imaginisce - the photo is on such an angle that you can hardly see the glitter center! but it is-promise! (I don't know what I was thinking - taking a picture like that)


The sentiment "welcome baby" is from My Favorite Things - "Expecting a Baby" stamp set. I embossed the sentiment with pink embossing powder.

On second thought......

You know how you make a card and think -

"Hey, I kind of like that"

and then you go make supper and when you come back and look at it - someone has been in there and made your card not so great!?

Well, I think that happened with this card - although it is growing on me.

The premise is good......that layout is fine, it is just that RED! and a bit of wasted space, now that I look at it.....sometimes you really have to take a step back! Probably best to do that before you post it! HAhaha!

I had to borrow Marcie's paper piercer because I broke mine trying to pry my scalloped circle nestability off of my cuttlebug mat........oh boy.....try to remember to keep that cutting side up.......LOL! I didn't notice until I started piercing that HER paper piercer was snipped off at the end also - thus the big piercings.

Then I had to use my Stamping Up tag maker punch for the bottom of this card (not so bad) because I broke my corner punch....... a wee bit of an expensive day.

Edited to add: Sounds like a lot of complaining about this card - funny thing is - the more I look at it, the more I like it! Forgot to mention about paper piecing the hat and scarf! Stamped it on red cardstock, cut it out and pieced it.

AND I bought a whole boat load of other "stuff" online today, because we are going to be at another bazaar, for the school this time, in two weeks so please, please, please hopefully everything comes in time!! (Papertrey Ink, Scrapping Great Deals, Pink Cat Studio, Verve Visual - if you are reading this please put everyone else's order aside and just look after mine..... ROFL!)

Actually, if it doesn't show up in time for this bazaar, there is always next year!!

Now this card I loved right from the start because I absolutely think this is the cutest little stamp going! It is from Magenta and I bought it at the Paper Pickle, my local stamp store. Don't they just look like they are all snuggled up!?

Cuttlebugged the green cardstock with the snowflake folder (it definitely is not that bright of a green IRL) Used my corner punch on the bottom of the green paper ( I did this card before I broke my punch!) and then on the bottom of the stamped image paper.

I dug out my shimmer chalks that I haven't used in ages and just dusted the angels with them. Then I took my Krylon silver leafing pen and traced around the image-- popped it up with with some dimensionals, added some L'il Davis ribbon and brads and done.

Very easy!

I have to go and get my spot in front of the TV--Desperate Housewives is on soon and I think something happens to Lynette!!

I am sooo looking forward to the next couple of weeks when I get a whole bunch of NEW SUPPLIES!!
