Kraftin' Kimmie's Birthday!!

This card is for the sketch challenge that Kraftin' Kimmie is doing on her blog.

She is celebrating her birthday Plus almost 100,000 hits Plus her one year blogaversary!!! and she is calling this week Kimmie's Kreation Celebration Challenges!!! How cool is that?!

All week there are plans over there, challenges, prizes, lots of things - so hop on over and check it out!!

Yesterday's challenge was an altered item challenge. Just alter any item and post your link. I don't like to alter things, I do not like it on a pail, I do not like it in the mail, I do not like it anyway, I do not like it Sam I am.....all right......that is enough.....I told Kim that I don't like to alter, so I don't know why she would pull a stunt like that!!! ROFL!

I will give it a shot, because I am woman hear me roar!!

Oh you should have heard me roar when the bats were here......other post......!!! YIKES!!

Okay, the card, yes.

This main image is another new one from Pink Cat Studio. I love this set of stamps. The birds are sooooo dang cute!! This image could be used for a new baby, or Mother's Day or just an everyday greeting!

I'm thinking this card is rather busy, but it is what it is.....

The designer paper is from Imaginescense, flowers are prima, buttons are Autumn Leaves foof-a-la.

The nest is sitting on a branch with leaves from Papertrey Ink's set "Take a Bough". The three "peeps" down the side are from High Hopes stamps!

Well, I tiptoed into my stamp room and made a lot of noise.....I sent the dog in first......and no bats flew out at me, so I feel rather safe in there. Thanks Goodness!! Now I can stamp worry free!

LUCKY ME!!

Bats in my Belfry or is Love Still in the Air.......

This may very well be my last post EVER!!

I was watching television last night with hubby, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye, FLYING around in my kitchen!!!

I looked over and it was a FREAKIN' BAT!! I hollered at hubby that there was a bat in the kitchen and he, who was laying on the couch, whipped around and looked and said, "AGGHHGH! I HATE BATS!!!!" and then dove under the afghan...........hmm.......

This took me back to the last time we had a bat in our house.

It was our beautiful old farmhouse, and I was up in the night to go to the bathroom. When I opened the door to come out, I saw a bat and quickly retreated into the bathroom and slammed the door shut! I hollered at hubby that we had a BAT!! He said, "stay in the bathroom"!!!

So I stayed and stayed and stayed.....finally, I cracked open the door to see what was going on and I saw that there was an blanket scurrying across the floor towards me! Hubby says "let me in", in this tiny squeaky voice! I said NO, I wasn't opening the door again until that bat was gone!! So then he HAD to get a broom and kill the bat. And then we hear later, that bats are an endangered species and it is against the law to kill them!! Give me a break.......

But I mean REALLY, aren't husbands supposed to DO this sort of thing!!!

I must have jinxed myself because Kim Hughes on her blog Paper Cuts was just talking about how she hates to walk in the dark and I responded saying - me too, because we have BATS! ugh!!

Anyway, I haven't seen it today, but I am still walking around with my eyes darting around every corner, hoping I don't see any bats!! I am terrified to go downstairs incase it is in my stamping room......even thought I know that it probably 99% is not in there. 1%.......

Oh well, back to the card.
This is the same paper as the Papertrey Ink card was on. It is such a funny colour on the blog but not so much in person. It is a kraft colour and it does look very pretty paired with the chocolate and pink cardstock.

I stamped and clear embossed my Pink Cat Studio background hearts stamp on the bottom of the card and added the cardstock.

I put a hole through the card and tied the ribbon from Costco around it.

I used my Verve Visual Heart set again, only this time I stamped both the big hearts, one inside the other. I embossed it and popped it up on the card.

I thought it looked kind of plain so I added a tag cut from my Cuttlebug little tags set and stamped the sentiment with Verve Visual stamp 'I Love You", popped up a prime flower with a Stamping Bella pearl bauble on it. For the finishing touch, I added a heart designer pin from Fancy Pants
and done!!

Well, the Super Bowl is on and even though I know nothing about Football, I am going in to watch with hubby, because I don't want to be alone when the bat strikes again! (although a lot of good he is....!!)

LUCKY ME!!

Thanks Tweet!!

Here is the newest release from Pink Cat Studio! TWEET!!

Isn't she so cute!! There are a lot of Tweet's and sentiments on the sheet of rubbah that you get......and such an easy image to colour! She's pur-DEE!

Besides the fact that I have new stamps to use, and I was dying to do these......I have an ulterior motive for doing a bird card.

My dog Rosie, HATES birds! She stalks them, at the window, in the house, out of the house.

She chases them and they taunt her, and because she wears a jingly, jangly collar - they know when she is coming near and fly away - only to swoop down at her - just to torture!!

So then, WHY, you ask, are you making a bird card. Well.......I will tell you.

SOMEBODY peed on my carpet in my stamp room sometime between last night and this morning.

I went down to stamp this morning and there, right where I stand, was a puddle, in the carpet!!! UGH!!

So that is why I am making a bird card......

I used Basic Grey Lily Kate paper, bling from Verve Visual, my daughter's copics (because I was watching Jake this afternoon, yay! and the copics were right there...so....and the lucsious ribbon that I bought from Cosco, my nestabilities and, the Pink Cat Studio stamp set Tweet!!

Off to let my dog OUTSIDE! to pee!

Pink Cat with Orange trim?!!

Ah yes, what I mean is my Pink Cat Studio Oriental Cat stamp with orange trim... LOL!!

I really didn't know how to color this stamp, but I love a challenge, so I delved right in!

I colored her with my copics and LOTS of pearl accents!! Her blue flowers are done with blue liquid pearls - I LOVE the liquid pearls!! so much so, that her eyelids are also liquid pearls - white this time!

She is popped up with dimensionals on Basic Grey - Mellow designer paper - PERFECT paper for this image, as it has lots of blues and oranges and greens in it - green to match her SPARKLY green eyes!!

Her sash and neck are done with copper stickles. I LOVE sparkly things!! (I might be half crow - lol!!)

I popped up her little oriental word --I'm really not sure what it means, but it is surely all good!!-- and added a folded orange flower behind her head. When I find out what the oriental symbol means, then I can stamp a sentiment inside the card!!

My sewing machine came in handy on this card, as I stitched up around the edges.

I love it!

Did you see on my anniversary post that Stampin' When I Can linked me up!! because she loved the card!! How great is that? I didn't even make the card - my daughter did..... Kudos to her!! Check out her gallery here!!

Thank you everyone for the kinds words and blessings you have offered us for our anniversary!! Love it and it is so wonderful (and fun!) to get such thoughts!

LUCKY ME!!

Hots for You!!

I love Valentine's Day! and not because I ever get anything good......or anything for that matter....but just because I love all the chocolate and candy and flowers and roses!! I LOVE pink roses!!

We have two beautiful rose bushes out in front of our barn - yep - the barn. They have been there for years.

Hubby's dad planted them and kept them so nice. I am not that gifted when it comes to roses - well, any plant :) but my FIL was fantastic with these roses. Every year he would trim and prune and pluck and bring me a pink roses off of that rosebush.

Now, surprisingly, hubby has kept up the roses. I suppose in his father's memory - they worked together for years on the farm. There are still two of the original six rose bushes alive and kicking, and every year I still get two or three roses from hubby. He's the best!

Now what does that have to do with anything? Well - Valentine's Day and hearts of course!!

Look at this cute little teapot stamp!! It is from Pink Cat Studio, the tea and coffee set, and it is perfect for Valentine's day, or Mother's Day or even for a friend day!! haha! They have a great site! and SO MANY STAMPS!! They are all unmounted, but they sell the EZ mount and it is so easy to work with!!

I made up a Valentine's Day card for hubby. Hot for you!! He'll love it - geez - I hope not too much.....LOL!!

I stamped the teapot in black staz-on and colored it with copics, shading along the left edge more for a shadow effect. Stickles Fruit punch was dabbed on the heart and the lid of the teapot. I love the glimmer and shimmer of stickles!!

I stamped the Autumn Leaves flourish on the image paper first then placed the image where I wanted it and carefully moved it away and stamped another flourish behind it on the checkered background.

Stamping Up's slot punch was used on the edges of the image and I ran the black checkered ribbon and the colored ribbon through the back together.

I stamped the "for you" from Papertrey Ink's "My Punny Valentine" set on first. It is actually a full saying "Nuts for you" but I just stamped part of it. I love how all stamp sets are so versatile and you can change them up and use them all together if you want!

"Hot" is from Art Impressions and it was from a grab bag of seconds that I bought from them a couple of years ago.

Kind of a cute card......with a bit of a different color!!

I think I will go and plunk down in front of the television tonight.

Yes I am.

Oh wait.

MFT stamps are having their release party tonight over at Splitcoast Stampers.....maybe I better check that out first!!

My Grandma's Bureau.....

My Grandma used to have a HUGE green bureau in her dining room upon which she always had fresh flowers. My mom used to talk about it in the most unflattering way.......when Grandma wanted to move her furniture around, mom was the one that had to help, so I can understand. She said it was a MONSTER!!

I loved it and so did Grandma. Mom said green was Grandma's favorite color....that must be where I get it from. Back in those days furniture was furniture!! Sturdy and true......

What does my Grandma's drawers (LOL!!!) have to do with anything you ask!!?!

The inspiration challenge today on SCS was a picture of a gorgeous green bureau with a vase of beautiful orange tulips on top. Take a look here. It was a picture from the Pottery Barn, and you are supposed to draw some inspiration from whatever "they" post. This was great...it really took me back!

Well, I didn't make a green bureau card, but I did have green in my card.

My image stamp is from Pink Cat Studio, where I bought a grab bag of stamps. It was great, you can let them know what kind of stamps you would like in your grab bag and they do the best they can. There is a large grab bag and a small grab bag.

Guess which one I got??! {*wink!} - yes, I am weak!! LOL!

This is actually an Easter Stamp, but it fit for my purpose.

I colored it with copics and then layered it up on some paper that I had scalloped around with my corner trimmer.

I added the little ribbon flag and attached a bauble from Stamping Bella. I have so many of those dinky little thingys, I have to use them up!! I LOVE them!

The background is paper from Webster's Pages called Snickerdoodle from the Pink Lemonade collection. Isn't it darling....so pretty!! I got it from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

The sentiment is Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Blooms and it fit perfectly with what I was trying to convey.

I was just on the Jacksonbelle Embellishments site AND they have the new TWO SCOOPS paper from Basic Grey in!!

I just ordered some!!

Pink Cat Studio.....

I have finally finished making Christmas card!! Whew!

Now I can get down to other cards.....I have done a few for the challenges over on SCS....they are great because you can do them at anytime, and there is no one hour rush to get them done.

You feel like you at least can do a once over with them to see that they don't have anything hanging from them!! LOL!!

This stamp is from Pink Cat Studio - Garden Plate #1. I have had these stamps for quite awhile....just haven't had the chance to use them.! (dang Christmas cards anyway!)

I had ordered the grab bag of 30 stamps from Pink Cat Studio and received them the next week and they are so great!! A real mixed bag.....no pun intended!! LOL!!

I popped up the flowers as you can see and then added one at the bottom for some interest!

Paper is Basic Grey- Pheobe,
base of card of Papertrey Ink cardstock
colored with copics and sakura glitter pen

I SEWED with my new Janome sewing machine......I grabbed black thread......all I could find in a hurry!!

Sorry about the short post....but I gotta run to the Papertrey Ink release party!!

LUCKY ME!!

Copics Goof-up....

Okay this is a post about what not to do with your copics and probably stamping in general.....

Please, it is best to use waterproof or watercolor (I think that is what you call it - better check first) paper as you can see in this card sample I did for the Featured Stamper of the Week on Splitcoast Stampers.

This weeks Featured Stamper of the week is Charlene of LilLuvsStampin.

I based my card on this card of hers which I think I might have goofed up on the challenge because she used buttons and I used baubles from Stamping Bella, but oh well.....SCS police...here I am !!!!

I finally did a challenge and it turned out crappy, only because I didn't use watercolor paper - it turned into kind of a blob! The copics got away from meeee.......

I posted it anyway, because I wanted to get going on the challenges, and everyone goofs up on a card once in a while.....

The stamp is from Pink Cat Studio "Sweet Treats". ---a beautiful strawberry covered in chocolate is what it should be.....but I stamped it on a scrap piece of paper that I thought was waterproof, but as you can clearly see, was not!

Edited to add: the leaf stamp is from Papertrey Ink "Beautiful Blooms"

I'm harping on this point, but if you are using markers and don't want feathering or bleeding or running-whatever you want to call it (a mess LOL!!) then use the proper paper.

I usually always use Papertrey Ink cardstock and it works just fine but it is thick and maybe you wouldn't want to use that thick of a paper. I use it because it stamps great and doesn't bleed, feather, run --blah blah blah!

That designer paper is "Infuse" from Basic Grey and it goes so pretty with the strawberry blob LOL!

Off to take my daughter to math class and I get to shop and fight the crowds for 2 hours.......however I just learned of a store in the mall that is starting to carry Copics! Woo Hoo!!

Have to CHECK THAT OUT!!

"Peas on Earth"!

Ooooo I love this Penny Black stamp!!

I think I have been starting my blogs luvin' every stamp lately! But that is the fun part - when you have the luv for a stamp, it is so much easier to stamp!!

I picked this stamp up when I went up to pick up my nestabilites at Scrappin' Great Deals. Needless to say, that was a $$$ trip!

So after I removed my parcel from under the seat of my car late last night (how did it ever get there?!) and snuck it down to my stamping room (all the time trying no to crinkle the bag so it wouldn't make any noise....oh you've all done it) I got started stamping......

I stamped the image with Staz-on black ink and then heat set it. That may not be a necessary step, but sometimes if I am impatient, I start coloring with pencils and then it smears and I didn't want that to happen again!

So I used my prisma pencils and mineral spirits to color this image then I mounted it on the scalloped nestabilities.

I cut the red cardstock with my round corner punch to make the scallops and then stamped it with the little circle background stamp from "Pink Cat Studio" and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. The little circles are so cute with the peas!

I was on the Pink Cat Studio website and saw where you could order a grab bag of 30 stamps for $22.50 so I jumped on it.....you even get to suggest the different categories you would like in your grab bag! You may not get them all-----but I did!!

I used my Stamping Up slot punch and attached the ribbon. I think the next time I would extend the ribbon all the way over to the edge of the striped paper, which is from Basic Grey - the Figgy Pudding set.

I am wondering what paper I will use after Christmas because this is practically all I use!!

I have to go for a walk and take my poor dog out.....she is crossing her legs and begging - oh bad doggie!!

Ewwww! LUCKY ME!
