Good Morning!

Woo....long time no see....I have been busy with life....crazy times around here!

But today is Totally Stampalicious Day!!

The theme this week at Totally Stampalicious is "Anything Goes" - the best ever!!

I inked up the Bugaboo character Ava Fairy and combined her with one of the challenges from the "Hope You Can Cling To" Forum ---

The HYCCT challenge was a Tic Tac Toe challenge and I chose to use Pink, Ribbon and Make it Round!

I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to her sweet little wings and the clouds - Don't you just love pink clouds??!!

I certainly hope that you can join us this week! It is a fun challenge with these sweet Bugaboo Stamps!!

On Your Mark!!

Today's Limited Supply Challenge is to make a card in 30 minutes or less!

That is a toughie for me. I usually sweat the small stuff in my cardmaking regarding colours, placement, stamps, size......you name it, I sweat! ewwwww.......

Anyway, I just decided to quit whining and get out the Cuttlebug and punches. Then I shut up and made my card - in less than 30 minutes!!

I fell off my Lent. Bah. We went to into Walmart last night after our wonderful student served dinner and hubby actually asked if there was a craft section. I must have been very good at hiding hiding hiding things...... I can't think of a better word......

Martha Stewart had some cute punches, so I scooped up this one......she also had a bunny punch.....but the chicks won my heart naturally. You could easily use it for a baby card also!

I swiped around the Lemon Tart edges with the Fresh Snow ink to kind of tone down the bright yellow and then added a border or Berry Sorbet cardstock under the punched out chickies!

What a beautiful warm day today, thank goodness, I think spring is actually going to happen! yay!

Butterfly sympathy with a Pearl...........

Today's Ways to Use it Challenge is to use pearls! I LOVE using Pearls - with a capital "P" because I LOVE using Pearls!!

My card base is Prism blue - I don't have a clue to the special names - baby blue, light blue, sky blue, basic blue, not quite blue, could be blue but it's not, - it's too much to remember. Suffice to say it is a lighter than dark blue and quite pretty!

I stamped the silhouette flower's from Kim Hughes set Nature's Silhouette in Vintage Photo distress ink and Adirondack denim ink.

The designer paper is Basic Grey Granola and I stamped right onto the designer paper, along with the sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink set Birds of a Feather, which is a beautiful font that I just love using!

I trimmed the bottom piece of dp with my threading water punch and then added a couple of lines of embossing with my Scor-Pal.

My mail lady delivered my Cuttlebug Tag Team Butterflies just this morning - yay!! and it was perfect to use for this card!

I added a (rather large) pearl brad to the center of the butterfly to make her pretty!

Ready to send on its way - although I detest having to make these type of cards, hopefully the recipient will find some comfort in it.............

SFYTT - STELLA!!!!!!!!!

I have to say I didn't really like Stella when she first arrived on Stamping Bella, but after colouring her up a couple of times, once with her martini glass and now her coffee mug - she is growing on me!

This card is for Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try this week. I can't believe I am actually doing it the week of and not the week aft!! LOL!

I coloured her up and paper pieced her with my copics and some My Mind's Eye Wild Asparagus paper that I have had for a wee bit of time!

I used the same designer paper for the background.

The coffee beans in the corner are from My Favorite Things "Hot Stuff" stamp set and the sentiment is Papertrey Ink's Favor It Weddings

I used the Cuttlebug numbers folder for the embossing background and the Spellbinders heart nestabilities to stamp my sentiment on.
The glitter dots are Gina K glitter dots. I love them because they are a bit flatter than the baubles, but don't get me wrong!! I LOVE the baubles too!!

More Everyday Blessings.....

Another card with that beloved patterned paper called Everyday Blessings from Papertrey Ink.

I feel that I need to say which patterned paper from Papertrey Ink that it is, because no doubt, on the 15th they will be coming out with another line of patterned paper! Oh my goodness I can hardly wait!!

The sneak peaks comes out this week starting on the 10th!! Wahoo!!

This card is very selfexplanatory.....

I used the Aquamist cardstock for the cardbase and then Everyday Blessings patterned paper and Spring Moss cardstock blued on top.

I ran the Spring Moss cardstock through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Aquamist ribbon was tied around the card and then I stamped the "Aunt" and "Happy Birthday" from Women of Life stamp set in Spring Moss ink.

Wow! Is this time change killing anyone else!! I can't believe it is hitting me so soon! It is only 5:30 pm and I am whooped....good night!

Furry Friend!

Maybe not real fur! But fake fur for sure!

I was over at Marcie's this afternoon for a stamping party and managed to get a couple of cards done!
She had so many girls over there giggling and stamping and grabbing for glue and scissors and paper and ink, it's a wonder I got anything done at all!! LOL!!

I had to come home and re-do the snowbunny bella card because I couldn't concentrate on it!

I'm not really sure about it, but as I say, it is what it is!!

This card is for Kraftin' Kimmies Celebration Challenge #5 - paper piecing.

I stamped Snowbunnybella once on white cardstock and again on some dotted paper Marcie had in her scrap drawer. I cut out the coat and adhered it to the first stamped image. Then I coloured her face and legs with the copic markers. Her boots and behind her head is done with turquoise glaze pen!

Then I outlined her in a very light blue marker. I think it makes her pop out more.

I Cuttlebugged the bottom half of the back ground paper which is cardstock and Daisy D's Maybe Baby paper with the embossing folder.

I used my corner rounder to make a scalloped edge and punched some holes in it too.

I tied some ribbon and a flower around the top and popped up my image. I stamped the My Favorite Things, Essential Sentiments "Kids with Fur" sentiment and popped it up too!

I added puff paint to the furry parts of her outfit, heated it up and out it popped!! Magic!!

This next card is also for Kraftin' Kimmies Celebration Challenge only for #6. We are supposed to make a thank you card and do something nice for someone today!

No, I didn't bake a pie but I did take my stamping stuff over to Marcie's and let her friends use it. I did cringe the whole time but the point is I did it!!
I don't know why I take offense at someone touching my stamping things...it is some kind of phobia ---- maybe "agityourcottonpickinhandsoffmystuffaphobia" I have heard of that.

This paper is Basic Grey Gypsy, another beautiful pack of paper!! The stamp is from Clearly Wordsworth and this set has so many cute little people! There is a golfer, a nurse, a cowgirl and a mother....and then all the saying with it.....very cool!

I stamped this image on a tag, my inspiration was from Michelle Wooderson's card here.

I coloured her with my copics and added two little blings from Verve Visual. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things, Essential Sentiments set.

That's about it for today!! I think I have had a couple or more posts so I better pack it in and spend some quality time with Rosie so she will stop chewing up things.......oh yeh, .......hubby too...LOL!!!

LUCKY ME!!

A Couple of Quick Cards.....

I did up a couple of quick cards this morning because I am supposed to be working on this Breast Cancer Walk album from last fall!

We are going over there for supper tomorrow night so I absolutely HAVE to get it done!! I only have 4 more pages........WHY am I dragging my feet!!?

So, of course when I was in there I snuck in a couple of fast cards!!

The first one is perfect for a new little baby girl......

I embossed it with my Cuttlebug decorative circles embossing folder and stamped inside it with a stamp from Papertrey Ink - the Mixed Messages stamp set.

Then I embossed two lines at the top, added my ribbon and a little charm and it is done - how much cuter can you get?!!

This next one is basically the same. I embossed two lines at the bottom of the card and stamped in between the lines in a continuous stamp of ENJOY the moment, the same Mixed Messages stamp set from Papertrey Ink.

Both ribbons are Offray from Walmart, I just tied them differently!

Off to work on the album....yes, I AM!!!

Bats in my Belfry or is Love Still in the Air.......

This may very well be my last post EVER!!

I was watching television last night with hubby, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye, FLYING around in my kitchen!!!

I looked over and it was a FREAKIN' BAT!! I hollered at hubby that there was a bat in the kitchen and he, who was laying on the couch, whipped around and looked and said, "AGGHHGH! I HATE BATS!!!!" and then dove under the afghan...........hmm.......

This took me back to the last time we had a bat in our house.

It was our beautiful old farmhouse, and I was up in the night to go to the bathroom. When I opened the door to come out, I saw a bat and quickly retreated into the bathroom and slammed the door shut! I hollered at hubby that we had a BAT!! He said, "stay in the bathroom"!!!

So I stayed and stayed and stayed.....finally, I cracked open the door to see what was going on and I saw that there was an blanket scurrying across the floor towards me! Hubby says "let me in", in this tiny squeaky voice! I said NO, I wasn't opening the door again until that bat was gone!! So then he HAD to get a broom and kill the bat. And then we hear later, that bats are an endangered species and it is against the law to kill them!! Give me a break.......

But I mean REALLY, aren't husbands supposed to DO this sort of thing!!!

I must have jinxed myself because Kim Hughes on her blog Paper Cuts was just talking about how she hates to walk in the dark and I responded saying - me too, because we have BATS! ugh!!

Anyway, I haven't seen it today, but I am still walking around with my eyes darting around every corner, hoping I don't see any bats!! I am terrified to go downstairs incase it is in my stamping room......even thought I know that it probably 99% is not in there. 1%.......

Oh well, back to the card.
This is the same paper as the Papertrey Ink card was on. It is such a funny colour on the blog but not so much in person. It is a kraft colour and it does look very pretty paired with the chocolate and pink cardstock.

I stamped and clear embossed my Pink Cat Studio background hearts stamp on the bottom of the card and added the cardstock.

I put a hole through the card and tied the ribbon from Costco around it.

I used my Verve Visual Heart set again, only this time I stamped both the big hearts, one inside the other. I embossed it and popped it up on the card.

I thought it looked kind of plain so I added a tag cut from my Cuttlebug little tags set and stamped the sentiment with Verve Visual stamp 'I Love You", popped up a prime flower with a Stamping Bella pearl bauble on it. For the finishing touch, I added a heart designer pin from Fancy Pants
and done!!

Well, the Super Bowl is on and even though I know nothing about Football, I am going in to watch with hubby, because I don't want to be alone when the bat strikes again! (although a lot of good he is....!!)

LUCKY ME!!

Cuttlebugged again....

You know I LOVE my Cuttlebug!!

So I was blurfing, last night and came across Sharon Johnson's blog, No Time To Stamp and found some of her wonderful cards made with the Cuttlebug and very little stamping!

That is what her blog is all about........if you don't have a lot of time, these beautiful cards can be made in almost no time at all!!

My card was inspired by Sharon's card here. I don't have a scripted background stamp like hers, so I left it out, which justa gives a little different look (maybe not as nice, but still A-Okay!)

I used the small Cuttlebug folder, which is 2" x 2" and embossed on one side and then the other. I added a black brad in the middle to match the sentiment and the ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.
The stamp set is called Scripted Greetings and is from Stampington & Company.

Then I added the Prima Ribbon and done!!
Sharon is RIGHT!! Very easy and quick!! Check out her site - I was in awe!!

Jake is gone home with his mom and dad now.......I cried and Ron didn't tease me or anything......

At breakfast yesterday, (our last meal with him) Jake was standing up in his high chair and I told him to sit down, twice. And he didn't. So then hubby pointed his finger at him and said in a stern voice, "SIT DOWN!"

Well, Jake sat down and then the corners of his mouth turned down and then they quivered and then he started to cry. Well, I thought hubby was going to cry right along with him. Jake was covered in peanut butter and jam toast and hubby scooped him right up out of that high chair and hugged him and kissed him and said how sorry he was!! He had tears in his eyes and so did I! Oh, I LOVE being a Grandma!!!

Aren't we a couple of spoilers!!! LOL!

Then his mom and dad came in and took him home!! Boo hoo!!!!!

Aw well, I should tell you that they live right behind us and I can walk over any time I want to! LOL!!

So I think I will, go to that right now!!

LUCKY ME!!

Beauty Queen!!

And what a Beauty Queen she is!! LOL!

Just having a little fun with this new stamp set from All That Scraps! It is CC Designs Luv Ya Lots and it is so cute!!

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and is from the Essential Sentiments stamp set.

The crown is from the Acetate Shape Ghost Variety Pack by Heidi Swapp and all I did was stamp it into my glue pad and pour glitter on it- and yes - it IS messy!!

Costco had a HUMUNGOUS (sp?) box of ribbon a few weeks ago that of course I scooped up and this ribbon is from that huge box!!

I paper pierced the cardstock and also ran a piece through the Cuttlebug - my favourite toy - although I say that about a lot of my toys!!

Jake's mom and dad come home tomorrow!! Boo hoo!! blubber blubber!

I have decided that they can't have him back, because he is too darn cute!!

However, I do need some sleep - he is up at 6 am - too early for me! We are awake at that time listening to the news, but we usually laze around in bed until 6:45 or 7--not with a baby. I had forgotten.

And they miss him soooo much! How much does a phone call from Hawaii to Southern Ontario cost? I guess they will find out!! LOL!!
LUCKY ME!!

Just Mucking About!!

While I was making this card, I thought "I almost miss gathering my eggs and mucking about in the barn" - the operative word being "almost""!

Since we have Jake this week, my son is gathering the eggs and doing the other "yucky" chores!! Thanks Andy!

This pretty plaid paper is from daisy d's 6 x 6 sidewalk chalk swatches (whew! say that 3 times FAST!!). There are 24 double sided pages and this week they are only $3.37! I bought them at Jacksonbelle Embellishments where everything is 25% off this week!!

I stamped and coloured the image from the Punny Farm stamp set at My Favorite Things, with my copics and cut her out with the oval nestabilities.

The dark purple cardstock was cuttlebugged with the texture embossing folder. I used this because it looks like my grandma's wallpaper and I find comfort in ANYTHING that could be my grandma's!!

That is layered onto that gorgeous coral cardstock that I bought at The Town Scrapper, my local scrapbook store - LSS.

I popped up the image, stamped on the sentiment from My Favorite Things and added some ribbon and some hearts. The hearts are from a heart punch I have and I used the coral cardstock again!

Edited to Add: Sharon (notimetostamp) posted a mini-challenge today using cuttlebugged cards - I forgot to mention that I entered this card in her challenge. I never know if the challenges on other blogs are for everyone or just design teams, but I LOVE my cuttlebug so I thought "well, I can't get fired"! so I just let her see it!!

Pretty easy card, I must say. I think I will send it to myself!!

LUCKY ME!

Chicken Soup and Flourishes.....again....

Yep, I am using up my Maya Road flourishes.....well, using them at least....there are a ton of flourishes in each tin.....I think about 60 of every size - and I have the white, which I used here and the clear which I used in this post.

I never knew how to use those flourishes and then I decided you don't have to know HOW to use them, you just have to do it .....so far everywhere I have used them has worked out great!!

I saw these two cute little stamps at 1 Rubber Room, and since I am a chicken lover, I just had to have them and this was the perfect opportunity to use them in the sketch challenge today. So many people have the cold/flu - whatever you want to call it - this card would surely serve that purpose!

I used my sewing machine also, but it kind of bugg&$%*ed up so now I am going to have to get the manual out (find it first) and do some investigating! I hate that....I mean why can't things just WORK??

I took advantage of Verve Visual's sale and bought some paper from the "chocolate delicious desserts", "berry delicious desserts" and "Pink Squirrel" collections. They are all 12 x 12 double sided and a terrific price....check it out!

This paper is the chocolate delicious dessert paper-- yummy! On the other side of the spotted paper are stripes, which of course co-ordinate.

I colored the little guy with copics, cut him out and popped him up on my cuttlebugged layer. The option in the challenge was to add a sentiment and I did, although, I think I could have just put "GET WELL SOON...." on the front and then put the rest of the sentiment on the inside of the card.......
We are STILL on dial-up so that would have taken forever to upload 2 photos!!

Well, I am going to try to do all the Bella Challenges this week....I have only missed sixteen of them HAH! Well 8 sketch challenges and 8 color challenges, so I think I will combine them and see how I get along......I LUV my Bella's!!

LUCKY ME!

Flower Power

I think we are all a little bored with making Christmas cards so I switched themes and went with springtime and flowers!! YAY!! I can hardly wait! ROFL!

This card was done for the sketch challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.

Since, it is the day after Christmas, they went easy on us and just had a simple card with a circle on it, but the circle had to be cut off at the top.

I had a heck of a time doing that AND having a decent image in the middle but I guess I did manage.

The white cardstock is from Papertrey Ink. It is by far the best in my opinion and so very sturdy being 110 lb weight. Talking about paper weight used to be a whole other language for me a few months ago.....but now I know.....that is GOOD!! LOL!!

I was kind of fooling around with my new stamp set from Papertrey Ink called "Text Boxed", and stamped a whole lot of the same image in Paper Salon's ink "Petal", on top of each other.

I thought that would be an interesting background, so I used it for this sketch challenge.

Then I took Autumn Leaves "Flower Trio" single stamp by Rhonna Farrer that I got at Scrappin' Great Deals and stamped it on top of the Text Boxed images. I used Brilliance "Pearlescent Orchid" to stamp that image.

The image was adhered to pink cardstock and the whole thing was glued to the white background and done.

It really was easy except I kept cutting off the image. Finally I cut the circle first and THEN stamped! LOL! Sometimes it takes awhile to sink in to this old bean!! LOL!

Anyway, I am off to bed.....we have a little treat tonight....our 14 month old grandson is staying with us overnight.....he is just learning to walk so tonight he just kept going back and forth and back and forth, all the while looking like a drunk little grandpa.....hee hee!

I'm whipped!! LOL!!

LUCKY ME!!

My Favorite Things Challenge

Well, we are so snowed in here in Southern Ontario that I was able to spend time in my stamping room!! YAY!

I cruised around SCS and found the sketch challenge from My Favorite Things. I have just started doing challenges and they are so fun! There is no pressure, if you want to do it great! if you don't - no big deal! But I'm telling you...it is fun.....!

I used the stamp set Hearts Galore my My Favorite Things. I colored it with copics, adhered it to an oval cut out nestabilities, and then paper pierced around the scallops for a cute little effect!

I used the hearts cuttlebug folder for the pink crossways panel and then I took some sandpaper and distressed it a bit. That kind of paper has a white inside so it is really easy to do!

Patterned paper is Karen Neuburger Serenity - glitter blossom - isn't it pretty?

The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things stampset Hearts Galore, but I just stamped the last line of the "Roses are Red" poem.

I didn't want the whole thing on there and the last line seemed very appropriate!

The edges were distressed on that with the Heidi Swapp edge distresser. You know, there is no de-stressing to distressing. That little piece of paper ripped twice, so I had to re-do it again. The edge destresser is not hard to use at all, just that piece of paper was hard to distress and hold on to it at the same time!

I popped up the stamped image with dimensionals and added 3 little white heart brads from Making Memories.

Ready for Valentine's Day!!

LUCKY ME!!

I LOVE my mail lady...(Pt 3)

Oh yeh, part 3 it is!!

More new rubbah!!

Today it was Verve Visual day. Some mighty beautiful stamps in this package- oh my gosh I can hardly wait to use them.....along with paper....and some Tim Holtz scissors so that I can cut the stamps so very easily!

They work terrifically! I didn't have to cut with my tongue once!

And blue stickles from Verve too, which I am wondering right now where they are......hubby came racing up to the house at lunchtime and I had to shove them in my pocket.

My ex-brother-in-law was cooking lunch for the hunters today, so I said I would go down and eat with them.

So, the whole time I was thinking about the poor deer they killed and then that got me thinking about how many deer stamps I have......it was crazy! Finally, I got out of there and was able to go up to the house and stamp!!

Actually, our deer population needs thinning out badly!! Everyday, around here about 4 get hit on the road.....and they are all inbreeding......so they end up smaller and smaller and runts.....thus THE HUNT.

Although we probably won't sell a lot of Christmas cards this weekend, being this far along in the season, I can't stop making them. Besides the fact that I have sooooo much Christmas paper to use up, I love making Christmas cards.....they are so pretty!

My card is pretty basic, and I can go back to this layout anytime if (when) I have to make a card in a hurry. It looks a little yellow - bad lighting in the basement - and I don't know how to use my Photoshop very well - sorry!

I cuttlebugged the top portion and then divided it with ribbon, then I used my nestabilities to cut a square and a scalloped square. Papertrey Ink Borders and Corners square set was stamped around the image - the snowflake is so old, the label is worn off, I don't know where it is from!

I used Papertrey Ink Holiday Wishes stamp set for the sentiment.

So easy and quick! I think I am done for the evening......

LUCKY ME!!

On second thought......

You know how you make a card and think -

"Hey, I kind of like that"

and then you go make supper and when you come back and look at it - someone has been in there and made your card not so great!?

Well, I think that happened with this card - although it is growing on me.

The premise is good......that layout is fine, it is just that RED! and a bit of wasted space, now that I look at it.....sometimes you really have to take a step back! Probably best to do that before you post it! HAhaha!

I had to borrow Marcie's paper piercer because I broke mine trying to pry my scalloped circle nestability off of my cuttlebug mat........oh boy.....try to remember to keep that cutting side up.......LOL! I didn't notice until I started piercing that HER paper piercer was snipped off at the end also - thus the big piercings.

Then I had to use my Stamping Up tag maker punch for the bottom of this card (not so bad) because I broke my corner punch....... a wee bit of an expensive day.

Edited to add: Sounds like a lot of complaining about this card - funny thing is - the more I look at it, the more I like it! Forgot to mention about paper piecing the hat and scarf! Stamped it on red cardstock, cut it out and pieced it.

AND I bought a whole boat load of other "stuff" online today, because we are going to be at another bazaar, for the school this time, in two weeks so please, please, please hopefully everything comes in time!! (Papertrey Ink, Scrapping Great Deals, Pink Cat Studio, Verve Visual - if you are reading this please put everyone else's order aside and just look after mine..... ROFL!)

Actually, if it doesn't show up in time for this bazaar, there is always next year!!

Snowman Stamp: Inkadinkado
Sentiment: Sunshine Designs
Paper: Imagine That - Walmart
Accessories: nestabilities, paper piercer, tag punch, photo holder thingy

Now this card I loved right from the start because I absolutely think this is the cutest little stamp going! It is from Magenta and I bought it at the Paper Pickle, my local stamp store. Don't they just look like they are all snuggled up!?

Cuttlebugged the green cardstock with the snowflake folder (it definitely is not that bright of a green IRL) Used my corner punch on the bottom of the green paper ( I did this card before I broke my punch!) and then on the bottom of the stamped image paper.

I dug out my shimmer chalks that I haven't used in ages and just dusted the angels with them. Then I took my Krylon silver leafing pen and traced around the image-- popped it up with with some dimensionals, added some L'il Davis ribbon and brads and done.

Very easy!

I have to go and get my spot in front of the TV--Desperate Housewives is on soon and I think something happens to Lynette!!

I am sooo looking forward to the next couple of weeks when I get a whole bunch of NEW SUPPLIES!!

LUCKY ME!!

21 Nov 2007

Figgy.......again.....and again....

Okay, this is the second attempt at posting these cards!.....Blogger is giving me a hard time today....... ugh....

Oh my goodness, I LOVE this Figgy Pudding paper!! I got mine at Scrappin' Great Deals, an online shop that has fantastic prices and GREAT service!

She also has a great sale from Midnight Tuesday until Midnight Wednesday EVERY WEEK!! You should hop over there right now

-well-- read my blog first....then way you go!!

Like I said, I tried to post this earlier so you would have more time --but Blogger is sick today LOL!!

This card is so darn pretty.....I love the brown and aqua together!!

I stamped the image that I got from Michael's cheap bin ($1 - $1.50 in Canada) then stamped it again, colored it with my prisma pencils, cut it out and popped it up with dimensionals.

I actually only had HUGE 3-D glue dots so I cut two in half and then I had four!!

Smart me!!

(note to self: leave glue dots sandwiched in their protective paper when you cut them in half - I cut the first one after I removed it from the paper - let's just say _messy!! LOL!!)

I set that aside and glued my backing paper (Figgy Pudding) on, trimmed it with ribbon from Walmart, and then adhered my image on the card.

Of course, I wasn't happy, so I pulled out my photo corner punch and added MORE Figgy paper - can you every have enough??

The answer is NO!! It is addictive.....

I am not really happy with this gift card holder.

It was soooo easy to make! The tutorial is over at Splitcoast Stampers and the instructions are such a cinch to follow. Click on the word instructions for the tutorial!

I love these colors but as you can see, I screwed up the ribbon at the top.

For some reason I had a brain fart when adding the ribbon and joined it at the front of the flap instead of under the flap. I tried to hide it by added a pretty Prima flower with some satin ribbon tied in the middle....but it still needs to be fixed....

The background paper and flappy latch is cuttlebugged, and then I scalloped the latch (for use of a better word!) added some velcro and done!

Such an easy project to make! And everyone gives gift cards these days!

I hope I get one.....or two.....or.......

LUCKY ME!!

14 Nov 2007

Kissy Kissy Christmas!!

Here I am back again already. I TOLD you I had lots to offer! Since my computer was down I had a lot of things to do because of this church bazaar Marcie and I are going to be at.

It is next Saturday the 24th and I have been worried because of course I don't have enough cards made and I don't know how we are going to do our table and I don't know what we should charge for things.....{this is me hyperventilating} ....hmmmm....settle....

Wordsworth has the greatest little stamps around. I LOVE the stick people they have!! I bought this stamp at our local stamp shop "The Paper Pickle Co."

I cuttlebugged the black cardstock for the background with the snowflake embossing folder and also cuttlebugged the bottom half of the white base. The base card paper I use is from Papertrey Ink (where they are unveiling a NEW stamp set tonight at midnight - woo hoo!!) - a fantastic cardstock - very heavy - perfect for card bases!

I glued the black cardstock on the white base and added the polka dot ribbon and a bit of silver ribbon - both from Wal-mart.

I stamped my image on white cardstock and colored it with my prismacolors and Stardust glitter pens (which I LOVE!)

Then they were mounted on black and red and popped up on the card with 3-D glue dots!! Very simple and quite cute if I do say so myself!!

Well I am heading over to Papertrey Ink for the unveiling of their new stamp set!!
LUCKY ME!!

20 Oct 2007

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's SUPERBELLA!!

I am posting this in between loads of laundry, cleaning up after lunch, and throwing the ball for my dog!

I honestly wonder where I got the energy when my three children were little and I drove them to all their hockey games, doctor appointments, singing engagements, - school when they missed the bus (they didn't happen very often - but it did happen!)

This card is a tribute to mothers everywhere because whether you have one child or eight children, every moment is spent thinking and doing things for your children.

Superbella!! She is so calm and cool and looking so beautiful in her little outfit! Could I pull this off? LOL!!

Anywaaayyyy, scraps of paper again...these cards are the greatest for using up those scraps from 12 x 12 sheets of paper. She is stamped in black and then coloured in with my Tombows, which I love.

I was thinking I should get copics , but they are so dang expensive and these do a great job and they also have a blender pen that comes with them, so no copics for me!!

I went over her shirt and boots with 3D crystal lacquer so it looks like she has leathah on....ooooo.....

Making Memories stick on glitter stickers are the stars. They are so cool!! They are sticky on both sides so you just stick them on where you want and dump some glitter on, brush away the excess glitter and presto! Glitter on stickers with no messy glue!

I used my Marvy Scalloped Punch to punch out the circle and then used the cuttlebug to emboss the star with the word Super on it! I used my paper piercer to go around the circle and then just did faux stitching along the holes because I haven't yet done real stitching! See the next post because it has real and faux stitching on the card and I don't think you can really tell the difference at all (or maybe I am just kidding myself into thinking I never have to really sew!! LOL!!).

This card was done for the SCS Stamping Bella challenge which was a sketch challenge this week. It is their very first challenge so check it out!! It is so fun to read all the posts about Stamping bella - because we luv her!!

Okay, well back to reality and cleaning up the lunch dishes, folding clothes, feeding my little puppy Rosie and on and on and on.......

Freakin' Crazy Chicken!!

**Edited--- I am very sorry about this post and it just being one huge paragraph! I can't figure out how to put in spaces!!. I have been editing it for the last 20 minutes and entering spaces but they never show up after publishing ....stupid blog.....** okay, of course this time it did it and I had paragraphs from here to kingdom come!!!!

Well, it had to happen....I was going to have a chicken card in here somewhere!

Yes, I am an egg gatherer, and somedays I feel just like this frazzled little thing.......only because I seem to get behind on so much.....I blame the stamping.

Does time just get away from you when you stamp or what!?? Things pile up and I feel......well - FREAKING CRAZY!!

This frazzled chicken is called "Feathers MacGee" and he is from "eat cake graphics".

I stamped him in black and colored with my tombows. I wanted him to be colored white ( white is apparently not a color- but I am saying that anyway...) since our hens are white, so I just took a very pale blue marker and traced around the inside lines of the chicken and it sort of brings out the white.

Well, with this sick picture it doesn't do it justice, but that little trick does work.

I am the professional so just believe me ;p, *wink* *wink* LOL!

I stamped the small oval from A Muse Artstamps so he was at least standing (or perched!) on something!

I backed "Feathers" on cardstock and then popped him up on the background which is Cosmo Cricket on the right and cardstock that was run through the Cuttlebug on the left.

The Cuttlebug strip of paper has also been stamped over with versamark and embossed with Puff Powder (which I detest, but I grabbed it instead of my clear embossing powder) and it didn't turn out too bad (she said RELUCTANTLY!!)

The bad habits stamps is from River City Rubber Works and instead of just mounting it on the card I decided that since "Feathers MacGee" is a little frazzled, that I would just kind of hang it there with a ribbon ! Just a little different look, I guess. Then it is finished off with brads on each of the corners to give it some balance (hee hee - but not the chicken LOL!!)

Shoot....have to run, I am late for the Stampin' Up demostration!!

Okay I saved this and now I am back from the Stampin' Up Demonstration. It turned out that it was actually a Stamp Camp - these demonstrators 1st ever - and it was a blast!!!!!

I have never been to a demo before and we made so many different little cards and big cards and Hallowe'en decorations - so cool!

I won a prize which was a large stamp pad, a small stamp pad and a sweet little birdie stamp!!

And everywhere I went there were bowls and bowls of jelly beans and ju jubes and butterscotch candies and chocolates!! Arrrgghhh!
I am going to post pictures of all the stuff I got tomorrow....oh not tomorrow probably --I have another thing to go to. Well, I will post it all at a later date as they say. There were a lot of goodies!

I just lost 30 lbs over the summer so that was a hoot trying to avoid those little devils! Well, I couldn't and yes, I caved....they were so pretty!

Anyway, tomorrow is the Canada's Scrapbooking for Kids day that I am volunteering in so I am quite excited about that! I have to be there at 7:00 a.m. - it is an hour's drive so I'll need to get up at 5:00 a.m. so off to BED and sleep!!

LUCKY ME!!
