Yeehah!! The Colour Challenge is Today!!

I usually don't mind the colour challenge and although I don't always get to do it, today I was up to "the challenge"!

I found this image of "Imeldebella" from Stamping Bella in my stash of stamped thingies.....I don't have a clue as to where she came from but I imagine Marcie dropped it off for me, sweet girl that she is!!

Today's colour challenge was to use Purely Pomegranate, So Saffron, and Wild Wabasi.

I found this paper from We R Memory Keepers, again, in my stash of papers that I hoard and NEVER want to use!

It is from the Urban Window Collection and it is called Diner Jukebox. It has all the right colours in it, which is in itself a miracle because I can usually never pick out a paper with the proper colours....LOL! I think I may have got it from The Town Scrapper.

Or else I colour my image first and then try to match up a patterned paper which is usually, kinda disasterous!

I coloured Miss Imeldabella so that she somewhat matched the colours in todays challenge

I used the glossy accents on her boots so she has so shiny saffron boots, and added a bit of Verve Visual bling to the image.

I added a big wild wabasi flower from Making Memories Blossoms and Buttons, the Sophie line. They are a box of flowers and buttons in navies, greens and creams - so pretty!!

I paper pierced the So Saffron paper and added the "Yeehah!! sentiment from Rubber Soul/Wordsworth, tied an Offray ribbon around the top and then I was done!!

Another challenge bites the dust!!! YEEHAH!!

Today's Color Combo Challenge.....

Today's Color Combination Challenge was So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Elegant Eggplant. I'm not a Stamping Up person, but I am beginning to recognize what the names of the colors are. I don't have the proper shades but I guessed at them and I think I got it pretty close.


I 'm not sure I would ever use these particular colors in a Christmas Card but hey! I'm not the challenge lady person and this is the CHALLENGE - figure out how to use these colors!!


The background is Prism Metallic Cardstock - "Fit for a Queen" -very appropriate!! It is so pretty because it has a real sheen to it. I don't know if you can really see it too well in the photo....


The image is from Wordsworth or Rubber Soul. They are both from the same company so one could argue that it is Wordsworth or one could argue that it is Rubber Soul. Both would be right!! LOL!


I colored them with copics and doodled around the edges like I have been doing lately. I did that awhile ago and then quit, but I quite like the appearance of it!



The Artful Stamper makes the "white perfect puff" that I used to trim the little lady's dress and hat.


I finished it off with some ribbon and Prima flowers called "got flowers' and "mini me" and a brad.


Well, we started our Christmas celebrations tonight at my mom's. It was the first one. We have another on Sunday, one on Monday and a big one that I am hosting on Tuesday.....then I hope it is over.

What a way to enjoy Christmas. I think I am a bit of a "bah humbugger" this year! LOL! sorry about that! It slipped out......


For our Christmas on Christmas day, we are having lasagna!! I don't want the messiness of a turkey and when we have so many Christmas' beforehand, surely we will have turkey somewhere (I hope) I just don't want the turkey to be at my place!!


My mom even had meatloaf tonight!!


They have been in Florida for November and she said they bar-b-qued down there all the time and didn't have any comfort foods so had to come home and make meat loaf to feel comforted!! I kept thinking that I could maybe have felt comforted down in Florida instead of up here in Southern Ontario where we have 6 -8 inches of snow and it is bloody cold!!


Wouldn't that be funny if no one had turkey and then I would be stuck with no turkey during Christmas season.......oh my.....that would serve me right!!


Off to wrap more gifts!!

It's a Wordsworth/Rubber Soul Christmas!

It is another Wordsworth card and I love this stamp...these stick people are so cool and easy going!

*Edited to add - Rubber Soul and Wordsworth apparently are made by the same company - and I see on the Paper Pretties site that this particular stamp is categorized under Rubber Soul stamps. My stamp says Wordsworth on the wood so I went on right to the Rubber Soul site itself and voila! Wordsworth/Rubber Soul - we are both right!

Oh my goodness, before I had that sentence typed up, blogger had downloaded my picture! FAST SERVICE ! Woo hoo...that is a first. Usually I am done typing my post before the picture downloads. Blogger must love Wordsworth too....{wink}!

This card was so simple really, stamp the image, colour it, layer it up and pop it out on your back ground. My background paper is cardstock and the patterned paper is from Arctic Frog.

Last year's stock that I found BURIED in a pile! Funny how THAT happens isn't it?

I added some wal-mart ribbon and a few little baubles I found in my scrapping drawer, pulled off of something most likely.


However, the cool thing is......I went over to watch my little grandson yesterday and Marcie said to me,

"Guess what I got in the mail today?"

I stared at her and said hesitantly "Whaaat?"

"My copics"

I shrieked!!

Me, who has always said, I could care less if I have copics, I have prismacolor pencils, I have Tombows, blah, blah, blah - that ALL went out the window when I saw those crazy copics. - THEN she most generously entrusted them to me while she went to work!

Oh my goodness, I used them for this card and the blending is fabulous (if I do say so)


They do work so nicely.......{sigh}


She got them from the My Favorite Things website. I MAY have to peruse the site myself.


Well, hubby took me out for lunch and I may just do that for him supper because I really don't feel like cooking up anything except maybe another Christmas card!!

Kissy Kissy Christmas!!

Here I am back again already. I TOLD you I had lots to offer! Since my computer was down I had a lot of things to do because of this church bazaar Marcie and I are going to be at.

It is next Saturday the 24th and I have been worried because of course I don't have enough cards made and I don't know how we are going to do our table and I don't know what we should charge for things.....{this is me hyperventilating} ....hmmmm....settle....

Wordsworth has the greatest little stamps around. I LOVE the stick people they have!! I bought this stamp at our local stamp shop "The Paper Pickle Co."

I cuttlebugged the black cardstock for the background with the snowflake embossing folder and also cuttlebugged the bottom half of the white base. The base card paper I use is from Papertrey Ink (where they are unveiling a NEW stamp set tonight at midnight - woo hoo!!) - a fantastic cardstock - very heavy - perfect for card bases!

I glued the black cardstock on the white base and added the polka dot ribbon and a bit of silver ribbon - both from Wal-mart.

I stamped my image on white cardstock and colored it with my prismacolors and Stardust glitter pens (which I LOVE!)

Then they were mounted on black and red and popped up on the card with 3-D glue dots!! Very simple and quite cute if I do say so myself!!

Well I am heading over to Papertrey Ink for the unveiling of their new stamp set!!
