Baby Baby Baby!

Good day! Today I have a card that I made awhile ago for a lady who needed a baby card (obviously!)

I used Crafty Secrets Baby Girl Homespun Cotton Scraps for this card - I added a bit of felt to the back of the image and gave it a quick sewing with my funky little sewing machine!

It is pretty sweet if I do say so myself! Sorry about the quick post - I am so tired I am going to bed!

Thank you to a friend......

We have an absolutely wonderful friend who has been driving our daughter, Holly, to school, where she is a volunteer with the Grade One and Two class. Our friend is also an Educational Assistant at the same school. She lives right down the road and picks up Holly every Wednesday morning and listens to her chatter away (and she does like to chatter.....!) all the way to school.

I made her a project that is now in the Dirty Dozen gallery, so you can't see it unless you are a fan club member (sorry), but I still needed a card. So here is my......uhm.........her card.

This is an image from Crafty Secrets Birds and Botanicals journal pad and I love the treatment that I gave it.

I cut out the image with my freakishly old pinking scissors. Smiley from millan.net ....you know the ones that everybody bought when they first start out?!! They don't really work all that great and so I had to go along behind them and trim with REAL scissors.....but I like the look so I put up with it......

I took my brayer and loaded it with Champagne Dazzle Versamark and then rolled it over the whole image. I sprinkled on my clear embossing powder and heat embossed it! It turned out so beautiful and that Dazzle Versamark leaves such a subtle but sparkly look!

You can kind of see the sparkles in this close up photo. The little spots on the robin's wing are sparkles and shimmers in real life! So pretty!

The sketch is from yesterday's sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers, which some may say I followed or didn't! I substituted the panel in the middle of the sketch, for some scoring with the Scor-pal....works for me!!

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Star Prints set - LOVE that font!! Smiley from millan.net

Yikes, today is my daughter Marcie's birthday and I don't have a card done yet. Something like the plumber whose pipes never get fixed, or the carpenter whose house is falling down around him, or the farmer who doesn't have a garden......oops hitting close to home!! I better get that card done ........ I hope you have a wonderful day!

Stamps: Star Prints (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Melon Berry, Rustic Cream, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Accessories: Birds and Botanicals Journal Pad (Crafty Secrets); Petite Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Melon Berry ribbon, Melon Berry button, (Papertrey Ink); Versamark Dazzle, silly pinking shears, twine (Walmart)

Vintage Santa!

Two chances of blog candy is available on this post here......the draw is Saturday!!

You know I just love the vintage look - although sometimes pulling it off, is another story!

These Crafty Secrets Christmas Vintage Image & Journal Notes are just fabulous for creating your vintage looks! (cripes that a big name for such a cute little book!)

I just took out a page of the notebook, which is perforated at the top, and trimmed it down to the size I was looking for.

I sponged it all up to make it appear even more old and then adhered it to some Ripe Avocado cardstock by Papertrey Ink.

The base of my card is also Ripe Avocado with some K & Company Christmas paper on top. It is all kind of old and vintage-y so I thought it would be great paper to use!

I added some stitching around the edges and then popped up the main image onto the card base.

As a well needed afterthought - which should have been a forethought - I shoved in a snowflake that was cut out with the snowflake Cuttlebug die which could be why it looks kind of lop-sided! Shoving in a snowflake is never good.

I adhered some cranberry ribbon from Flourishes with an antique brad.

Such a quick and easy card to make with the help of these Journal notes!!

A Crafty Christmas!

I am on my way to Math Class with Holly, but I jut had to show you this pretty little image from the Crafty Secrets Christmas Image & Journal Notes!

Isn't she so cute?! Of course, no stamping, just putting it together - so quick and easy!!

I did try to highlight the image just a bit by tracing around the little girl and some of the background images with my grey copic marker. Since my background colours are so strong and beautiful, she kind of got lost in the colour!

The designer paper is Yuletide Tinkering Ink and just ogle at that delicious May Arts grey sheer ribbon!

The little flowers are form a craft booth at the how I was at this weekend-the lady was just trying desperately to book out of crafting altogether, so everything was being offered for a song!!

Crazy lady! Doesn't she realize that crafting never leaves your blood!!

Talk at you later!!

The Egg-gather.........

WOW!! Did you have fun yesterday at World Card Making Day??!

This is me, excitingly jumping around, clapping hands and turning circles!!!:

"Do you KNOW what day it is!!?"

Hubby: "ya, it's combining beans day......."

Me as I slunk away: "That's what I was thinking ......."

You probably recognize that format from Paperlicious who has the funniest and sometimes sweetest posts with her and her hubby...Mine is still in training-to-understand a cardmaking frenzy!

Now for my post.

Our weekend egg gatherer of 4 years gave her notice a couple of weeks ago and left us, going on to higher circles, riding off into the sunset.........I know she will miss those hens and they will miss her and holy cow ------We will REALLY miss her!!

So now hubby is back to gathering eggs on the weekends and reminiscing about years ago, when his brothers took off to their girlfriends' every weekend and left him home EVERY weekend to gather eggs by himself. *sniff sniff*

When I remind him that I was there, as his girlfriend, helping him out, every weekend, he smiles and says "oh yeah, can you do it today?" Funny.

This is the card I am sending Amy for a thank you. I like the way this turned out even though there is no stamping involved.

I used a page from Crafty Secrets Birds and Botanicals Images and Journal Notes and then proceeded to distress it up by adding twine and roughing it up a bit.

I added a bit of stitching around the sides and sponged in a few spots.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages and is stamped onto the Cuttlebug Tiny Tag die! I love that tag die!!

Well, tomorrow is my annual physical and let's just say I will be happy when it is over!!

Moments and Memories........

Sorry about this post, Blogger has a mind of its own this morning......imagine that!!

Happy Tuesday morning to everyone!!

Today is the day for the new releases at Little Paper Shop.
Hop on over and scoop up those stamp sets!!

While I was on vacation I had stamped a lot of images
and managed to find some time to get some colouring done in our
lap of luxury motel rooms!!

Once in a lifetime right??

I think that was the theme of the whole vacation --
"Well, we will never do this again, so let's do it right"
and then the Visa bill just showed up yeterday - nice homecoming - yuck!

I hope that Visa Bill is once in a lifetime..... LOL!

I stamped this image with Brilliance Black ink and coloured it in with copics,
based on our hotel colours - beautiful soft blues and beiges and browns.

This image and sentiment is from one of the small acrylic stamp sets from
Crafty Secrets and is called "Story of Me"

The background paper is from
DCWV "Once Upon a Time"
8 x 8 paper pack which I thought very appropriate for this image.

I did a bit of distressing to show an old age theme and
sewed only around the three sides to encase the image -----
don't I sound smart??!!

I cut out the border from the DCWV paper
and glued it to the left hand side.

Using the nestabilities I cut out the circle from the designer paper, folded it in half and tucked it in on the side of the image.

I punched a hole in it with my Crop-a-dile and added two small lengths
of this delicious ribbon from Flourishes and tied a knot.

I added a bit of Sakura glitter pen and Stickles
to the background paper,
which I think I was able to capture in this photograph.....

Well, I am off to PAY the bills and start saving for Christmas now.......never ending!!

IC143 - No Small Miracles.....

It is really no small miracle that I finished this Inspiration Challenge today!! LOL!

Things are getting in the way of me playing - don't you just hate that??!!!
Anyway here it is in all it's glory........

This is the picture that I was inspired by

and this is my finished card!!

I love these Crafty Secrets notebook papers! and although you know that I LOVE stamping - these are a great alternative when making a card or whatever else it is you make!!

This page is from the Crafty Secrets Birds & Botanicals Image and Journal notes.

I layered it onto a piece of Papertrey Ink Everyday Blessings designer paper that was all distressed up and set it aside
.

I used my Aged Sheet Music Scrapblock and stamped it onto Close to Cocoa cardstock with New Canvas Palette Ink.

The beautiful sentiment is from the Verve Stamp set Beautiful You and it is perfect for this image!!

I sewed a piece of Papertrey Ink swiss dot ribbon to some Melissa Francis vintage ribbon and attached it to the Close to Cocoa, added some Primas and buttons and Inspiration Challenge is done for another week - unless, of course, I am inspired again, which could very possibly happen!! YAY!!

Today is my last day being Jen del Muro's Guest Designer *sniff*.

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed this past month with her team!! Take a boo over to her site to see my last card and give Jen some love, because she was so dang kind to me , making me feel all special with her oo-ing and ahhh-ing over my cards!! She is the perfect hostess!!

Crafty Friend.....

I got out my Crafty Secrets acrylic stamp set again yesterday. I love the "sweetness" of this set! It is so quaint and so easy to watercolour.
Yep, I tried my hand at watercolouring again and it didn't turn out too bad.......!
This is my second card for the new blog "2 Sketches 4 You". I did one yesterday and one today - 2 sketches.....get it! LOL!
I used that designer paper that I found in my stash with no name on it.....not my fault I don't know who it is!.....but I love it, so I use it!
Papertrey Ink Aquamist cardstock is the base and the image is glued to Papertrey Ink Spring Moss cardstock. Papertrey Ink aquamist and spring moss ribbon was tied on the card.
Kind of soft and pretty!
