Enjoy the Stella!
Friday's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers is called Limited Supplies, and I think the idea is to pretend you only have certain supplies to make your card.
Well, today we could not use any white or vanilla in our card! The gallery for this challenge is here.
For goodness sakes, I ALWAYS stamp on white! and at the very least, a cream colored piece of paper!!
I really don't know what the big deal was, but I just froze up and then I got sweaty when I read it. I almost didn't even do this challenge!! {wuss}
I went to get groceries this morning with DD Marcie and her little guy Jake and I was looking at everything in the grocery store and even the labels on products were in white!!
On the way home I decided, for heaven's sake just stamp on pink or yellow or light blue or something! There will be nothing to it.
Instead I got cutting.
I found some Stella Ruby paper by Basic Grey that had been buried under a TON 'o PAPER in my stamping room. (I am really trying to get organized. I read Maria's blog at Stamping Inspirations and she is WAY organized and then Taylor VanBruggen is TRULY organized and my daughter keeps whining about how UN-organized I am. I KNOW that already-- geeez)
I used Basic Grey Periphery for the green half of the background and the other half of the background is from Stella Ruby.
The last half (ROFL!!) was yellow scallops and they are also from Stella Ruby.
I took one of the sheets of Stella Ruby and cut it up into flowers and leaves. Then I popped them up on the background.
Papertrey Ink's Spiral Bouquet has a very elegant (I think I over use that word , but when it comes to Papertrey Ink's stamp sets, it is too true!!) font, so I chose the word ENJOY and stamped it on in Adironack Espresso.
The flowers didn't really pop out enough -not literally, they just kind of blended in to the background, so I took a copic marker and went around the edges of the flowers. Then I was HAPPY!! I CAN GO BACK TO STAMPING ON WHITE PAPER!!
I think it turned out rather pretty!
LUCKY ME!!
