Raining and dreary today.....a perfect day for stamping!! YAY!
Then we are off to our friends house for beer can chicken and a wine supper......what a strange....but promising combo!
We haven't had a chance to get together for awhile and frankly I haven't felt like going anywhere lately.....so I guess I have to leave the comfort of my home and venture out and have some fun!
I did this card for Allison's backgrounder challenge this week. I like her challenges because I don't feel rushed at all, you can kind of move along at your own pace - in my case - slow and messy!!
So - on to the card!!
This card used the Lockhart Sunflower stamp, Cornish Heritage Farms Pretty Pattern backgrounder, from the Rummage bin (a fantastic line of unmounted stamps! --the stamp set Beautiful, Spanish Script backgrounder, and Kim Hughes set Natures Silhouette!
A lot of stamps used but if you lay them all out, it's not work at all - after all- you are STAMPING!!
I stamped the Pretty Pattern backgrounder with Spring Moss ink then laid my Spring Moss cardstock on top of the stamp and tapped it lightly to get a random pattern.
Then I used one of the flourishes from the Beautiful set and stamped it on the upper left and lower right hand corners in Spring Moss Ink.
The Spanish Script backgrounder was inked up with Pretty Pansy Versamagic chalk ink and stamped off once and then stamped onto the Memory Box Russian Sage paper.
Then I took that strip of paper and lined it up on the Spring Moss paper where I want it to be and stamped the same flourish from the Beautiful set in the Pretty Pansy ink, only I masked off the Spring Moss paper and lined the flourish up exactly to match the other flourish KWIM??!!
I did that on both corners and then again with the coloured image! It isn't highly visible but I just wanted a muted look and I think I achieved that!
I popped up the Lockhart Sunflower image that was coloured with my copics and added a couple of Prima flowers.
The sentiment is from Kim Hughes Nature's Silhouette set - such pretty fonts on this sentiment!
This was a confusing post so if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me and I will get back to you with the answers!
This is super Bonnie! I love all the elements you have included here and it is such a sweet color combo. Thanks for playing again!
ReplyDeleteOH Bonnie....I LOVE it...those little lockharts have to be one of my favourite things to colour. I think we should work on Kim and Kell to carry them in the store.
