This post is a bit late because we - hubby, mom, step-dad, son and me --were running around this morning making lunch for 130 athletes and their workers!!
That's right. Our three counties of St. Francis Advocates, went together and came up with their own Special Olympics, and since they booked it in our neighbouring town, they asked if we, as Holly's parents, would be willing to figure out the lunch!!
So we did. And what fun.....oh my gosh! I can't begin to describe the joy and thankfulness WE felt when we saw how happy those clients were today!!
We giggled and buttered and ran and buttered some more and scooped ice cream and giggled until our jaws hurt from it all!! Such fun!
On to the card today!!
I forgot to post this card back when Embellish-It Scrapbooking first opened up their gallery in August to introduce their new designers -me being one of them - yay!
Their August theme (there is a new theme coming September 5th - so watch for that!!) was "Back to School" and we were to make a card showing and explaining the technique.
Well, as you can see, I used a lot of techniques, but I focused on my willy-nilly sewing!
It doesn't always have to be a straight line on your card. It can also serve as an embellishment, which it does here!!
I used Stamping Up! Kraft cardstock for my card base and layered MM notebook paper stamped with backgrounder CHF Houndstooth backgrounder in Colorbox Olive.
I stamped the sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms Rummage Bin stamp set "Ledger Me" in Colobox Blue Iris
I also added a border of Prism paper on the side with Basic Grey Boxer rub-ons rubbed over top.
I did my willy-nilly sewing and then added a bit of Basic Grey Boxer chipboard with a Prima flower, some Maya Road ribbon and an antique button that I bought at a flea market -LUV the flea markets for buttons!!
I had some Heidi Swapp butterfly chipboard embellishments, so I stamped my Colorbox Blue Iris ink all over it, added a bit of bling and there was another item added!
Perfect memory card, especially for today!! I'm happy.....
GORGEOUS card!!
