Growing Old....and more....

This is the final day for previews for the new releases at Little Paper Shop. The releases will be available tomorrow, Tuesday!!

This set is called {Growing Old} and is a big set of sentiments only, full of humorous sayings about getting old! When I received it, I e-mailed Julia and said "WHEN can we use these???!" They are so funny and I can certainly appreciate them as I get more mature ;) ya, mature.....

Gramps is a digital image available now along with several other new digi images that have been available for awhile on Little Paper Shop......instant gratification!!

Isn't he cute with his frosty mug of beer!! I used a bit of Judikins Diamond Glaze on the mug and White Perfect Puff for the foamy beer.....

I paper pieced his clothes, which is so easy to do with a digital image....you just print it off once on your white cardstock for the main image, and then print it again onto designer paper, which is Basic Gray Marrakech in this instance.

The base of my card is Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate and I used the Small Gingham backgrounder from Impression Obsession in a different sort of way. I bought a Ranger Craft Sheet at Scrapfest this weekend, mostly because I felt that that would MAKE me clean up my workspace so I would have room for the mat! It is a fabulous product that you can j
ust wipe down after spilling getting anything on it!!

For the background I took my Fresh Snow inkpad and stamped it all over the craft sheet, so that there was ink all over. Then I took my gingham backgrounder and stamped it onto the ink on the craft mat, just as if it was the ink pad. Then I stamped it onto the cardstock.

It just left sort of a mottled look to the background paper because I didn't want anything too bright or white! Just a different sort of technique .....and I did it that way on purpose even.....it wasn't even an accidental finding which is amazing in itself!!

And what do you think of that amazing button!! That is one of the techniques we learned this weekend with our class with Vicki Boutin!! Take your chipboard button (Scenic Route) and swipe a wee bit of PVA glue, which is a woodworking glue, over the button and before it completely dries, which is quite awhile, lay a sheet of shiny transfer foil, colour side up, over top and rub! Easy peasy, it just attaches itself to the glue! I opted for a distressed look, which is why the foil is not completely covering the button. Loved this class!

This is Vicki working hard, explaining the techniques....

My sister in law Debbie and Allison Cope, of So Sketchy, who was helping Vicki with her class....

Anyway, hop on over to Little Paper Shop blog and see the prizes that you can win and lots of excitement being as it is One Year Old now!! Happy Birthday Little Paper Shop!!! YAY!!
