As some of you know, my daughter Holly volunteers at a Grade One class through the graciousness of the First Grade teacher.
As a developmentally handicapped young woman, Holly is easily bored and also easily frustrated, so when she said she wanted to make some things for the Grade One class she volunteers at, I cringed inwardly......pretty much knowing that whatever we started to make, and we needed 31 of said things, I would probably be doing the brunt of the work.
I downloaded, what I thought would be, the easiest of the Timeless Templates from Papertrey Ink, so that hopefully Holly would be keen to put them together.
She picked out the Orbit collection by Crate paper for the boys and K & Company's Berry Sweet paper for the girls and I went to work. I printed off the Ready, Set, Wrap template from Papertrey Ink onto kraft cardstock and cut out all of them.
Then I cut out the boys and girls designer paper and glued it onto the templates.
I decorated them up a bit by stamping them with Polka Dot Basics in various colours of ink, Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides, Hibiscus Burst. I used the outline of the large polka dot with a smaller solid polka dot sort of stamped off to the side.
I added some buttons and twine for the boys and some bows for the girls.
And then Holly put them altogether - each and everyone! no complaining, no whining, no frustration! (from either one of us) YAY!!
We filled them with gummi bears and chocolate coins and sour patch kids - stuff their parents would surely appreciate .....snicker......and then we made some tags using the JustRite stamps. Holly really enjoyed stamping the tags and then that was it. Enough for her!! I finished them off by added the scalloped Spellbinders circles and tying them to the template.
Anyway, those templates were so easy to use and put together and I would highly recommend them, if you value my opinion.......which I am SURE you do!! LOL!
