Enjoy Your Day! and a challenge for you!

Happy Monday to everyone! Smiley from millan.net

Well, I hope you like cupcakes because this is the third day in a row that I have posted a cupcake card!

Our challenge for Little Paper Shop Monday this week is a sketch challenge and you need to incorporate a cupcake - yummy!

We would love to have you join us in this challenge! Just link up your creation using this sketch and incorporate a cupcake to the Little Paper Shop blog and you could win {Katie Cupcake}!! Doesn't that sound wonderful??!! If you post your card to Splitcoaststampers or Paper Craft Planet please use the keyword LPSC22.

I chose the cupcake from the stamp set {Sugar} for the sketch challenge, but.... uhm.....I forgot to do the sketch......Smiley from millan.net

But I did use my new Spellbinders Polka Dot frame, so that must count for something! haha! I used some Bazzill Bling and highlighted the polka dots by running my Memento Rich cocoa inkpad over top of the polka dots - LOVE this look!

I stamped the cupcake onto Basic Grey Bittersweet designer paper and popped up the icing with some pop up tape.

The cherry on top is highlighted with some Judikins Diamond Glaze and I punched the border with the Fiskar's Apron Lace punch.

The sheer ribbon is from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply ribbon store and it is the most lucsious ribbon and so easy to tie into that gorgeous bow!

The sentiment is from Little Paper Shop's stamp set called {Make a Wish}! I love this set because it is full of such nice everyday sentiments.

I hope you have a wonderful day and I will try not to have a cupcake on my next card that I post! Smiley from millan.net

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge!

Happy Sunday everyone and I hope your weekend is going great! We went out for Chinese food last night and boy was it good......maybe extra good because I didn't have to cook!

Every Sunday on the Hope Stamps Eternal blog there is a Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and we would love it if you would play along with us! A new cupcake photo is up today and it is so pretty....just look at those yummy cupcakes!! Smiley from millan.net

I was inspired by the bright colours in those gorgeous cupcakes and so I managed to work in some of that Lime Rickey paper that I am not so crazy about lol!

Don't get me wrong, I love the
Lime Rickey, but this particular piece had me stumped!

My blog friend, Heather, had used it last week in this gorgeous creation, and so I was bound that I could work it into one of my cards this week. Lo and behold, I did it!!

I had wonderful parcel from Gina K Designs arrive at my door the other day and this delicious stamp set, Sweetest Blessings, was part of it. What a perfect set for today's challenge!

There is a lot of texture on my card all thanks to the Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing folder and my ancient crimper that I lug out once in a blue moon.

The cupcake icing is embossed with the Swirls Cuttlebug folder and then I added some Doodlebug glitter and some
Crystal Stickles on top of that! And look at those gorgeous brads - more glitter!

I used the Fiskar's Threading Water punch, which I have always called treading water punch, because really, who threads water?? Smiley from millan.net

I didn't put any butterflies on my card today, but wouldn't that Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch have been just too perfect??!!

Supplies:

Rubber Stamps: Sweetest Blessings (Gina K Designs)
Cardstock: Stampers Select White, Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink); Prism Frosted Teal (Taylored Expressions)
Paper: Lime Rickey (Basic Grey)
Ink: Black Memento, copics
Accessories: Circle Nestabilties, Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, Petite Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Cuttlebug Swirls Embossing Folder (Provocraft); Glitter (Doodlebug); Diamond Stickles; May Arts Organdy Ribbon (Taylored Expressions); Brads (Basic Grey), Crimper (Fiskars), Crystal Lacquer

Hey Cupcake!! and exciting news!

There is a "new to me" challenge on the Hope Stamps Eternal blog that I tried out this past week, and it is a cupcake challenge! Every week a new cupcake is offered up as an inspiration for you.

This week I joined in and came up with this pretty little number! I LOVE the way the cupcake liners are all swirly like the filigree in the photo!

I stamped the Flourishes Damask background stamp in Fresh Snow ink onto purple, yellow and peach cardstock and then stamped the Maya Road cupcake stamp over top in Memento Rich cocoa ink.

The cupcake liners were cut out and adhered onto the three cupcakes that I had stamped as part of my card front.

I stickled up the chocolate icing with Diamond Stickles (for the life of me I don't know why I didn't colour in the sprinkles.... d'oh!) and then added a flower twinkle that was included in Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients package! The delicious accordian ribbon, which mimics the cupcake liners is also from Taylored Expressions and you can find it right here!

So now for my exciting news! I have been asked to join the Hope Stamps Eternal Design Team! Hope Stamps Eternal is a web-store owned and operated by Rachel Hope Baird and I am so excited, as I am joining an amazing group of stampers on this fun team!!

Our new team consists of: Rachel Hope Baird Michelle Woerner Carolina Buchting Colleen Wold Jessica Colligan Kelli Caslow Tammy Hershberger Natalaie Dever
and me!!

Didn't I tell you they were drop-dead talented??!! I am so very honoured to be working with these wonderful stampers and look forward to all their creativeness rubbing off on me lol!

Supplies:
Stamps: Maya Road Clear stamps, Kim Hughes 'Hugs and Kisses'
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink, Prism, DCWV Sweet paper stack designer paper
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, copics
Accessories: Stickles, Flower twinkles, accordian ribbon

Baby JustRite

Is anyone else having a baby boom in their neck of the woods???!! Holy cow......We have babies coming out our ears which is a marvellous thing, isn't it? A Baby is such a happy time and such a joyous occasion! Smiley from millan.net

My daughter's bestest ever friend had her first baby
last week, a boy, so of course i had to make a special card for them!

I love the colours in this one, just a little different and not really all fussy frilly......K & Company Wild Saffron papers that I bought at WalMart (even though I detest going to Walmart they are the only place locally that carries tons of K & Company and I just love it!! - the paper NOT Walmart)

I had a JustRite Stampers
parcel delivered this week and this gorgeous Baby Stamp ensemble was included. Smiley from millan.net

I stamped the image in Stamping UP! Baja Breeze and then coloured the ribbon and pacifier with copics. I added a bit of Judikins Diamond Glaze onto the pacifier nipple and one of the buttons, mostly so it would hold the knot, but I do like the way it shines too!

The ribbon is May Arts ribbon, the cardstock is Stamping UP! Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla and the buttons are from Papertrey Ink.

Little Paper Shop Monday, Friend

Good morning and welcome to another Little Paper Shop Monday challenge!

This week, if you enter our challenge and leave your link on our Little Paper Shop blog , you will be entered in to win two digital images of your choice.

We were offered a sketch challenge to do and since I needed a little tag for a gift I was dreaming up, I made a tag.

I wanted to make up some teacher's gifts for some of the teacher's where Holly is a volunteer, so I bought some coloured epsom bath beads in bulk, and some 1/2 cup mason jars. I filled them with the bath beads, added some ribbon and a puff on top and voila!!

It is supposed to look like a little cupcake, but it kind of came out like an ice cream cone wanna-be!! LOL!

I think I bought a too "high end" bath puff because it is so poofy that it doesn't sit properly. Let that be a lesson......more expensive isn't necessarily good! lol!

The tag is made from some leftover's from my Taylored Expressions key ingredients set from April.......(hoarding). The sentiment is from Little Paper Shop's {Friends} stamp set.

Be sure to pop around to the other members of the Little Paper Shop design team, on my sidebar, to see what wonderful creations they have made!!

A Dirty Challenge......

On the 20th of every month the Dirty Dozen and Dirty Dozen Alumni, are offered a challenge for the month. Smiley from millan.net

The challenge hostess this month is Valerie Stangle (aka 11Valerie11) and, if the DD/DDA choose to accept it, the challenge is
to:

"Create a project that screams school's out for summer. Do you like the beach, camping, the mountains, bbqing? You name it, whatever screams summer to you, is fair game."

Required Element
: Mini brads

Restricted Element: Buttons

Crap, no buttons. Smiley from millan.net and those silly mini brads......my goodness, listen to me whine about having to do a Dirty Dozen challenge! LOL!!!!Smiley from millan.net

Well, I think I did pretty good anyway. I chose to use Taylor's sketch for this one, along with a Stamp a Sweet Expressions stamp from "A Year of Stamps 2". I also used the key ingredients from my first set I got back in April - oh baby! I am so far behind in using my stuff!

I coloured the image with copics and added some Stickles to the butterfly and the sweet little flowers!

The sentiment, from Day at the Beach (Papertrey Ink) was perfect for my creation, because I can't even begin to express how thankful I am to be a part of the Dirty Dozen design team. Still not believing it and it seems like a big ol' dream!

M&M's Paper Posie Throwdown!!

ETA: I forgot to add that my camera is now getting fixed thanks to Lisa who told me that her sister had the same problem and Canon is fixing her's for free!! YAY!! so my daughter is graciously lending me her's while mine is in the camera hospital!

My friend Danielle is the host this week of the
Color Throwndown and she chose Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise and Kiwi Kiss or other similar colours.

I chose to use Prism Desert Coral Light, and then some Scenic Route patterned papers that had similar colours to Kiwi Kiss and Tempting Turquoise. I even added some M&M packaging! oh ya! Smiley from millan.net

My flower is a crinkle flower, made for last week's Ways to Use it Challenge, that I learned how to make in an on-line embellishment class taught by Tania Willis. I think it turned out beautifully, being as I made it partly from garbage!! haha!

Two of the layers are made from M&M peanut packaging. It was so pretty that I couldn't throw it out and it went so perfectly with the other flowers I was making!! So anything goes!!

On the flower is a Melon Berry button and the Melon Berry stamped sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Damask Designs. The large polka dots are from the stamp set Polka Dot Basics from Papertrey Ink and they were stamped in Fresh Snow ink also from Papertrey Ink.

Unfortunate.....

I think my crazy camera has finally given up the ghost! All I see is pink fuzzy things when I go to shoot and I know it's not my eyes.....dang it.....

I made a card for today's Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge and this week's Color Throwdown and I can't post either one of them, but I do have another one of these sweet little Get Well Teddy cards.

I had some left over cardstock laying around and wanted to use it up so this little guy volunteered to be used.

Hope you like it and hopefully I can get a new camera before the week is over so I can post my cards for you.......and me.....

Colour Challenged Bear!

Good Monday morning again!

Yes, this is my second post this morning, so please take a moment to visit my last post regarding the sneak peak for Little Paper Shop!!

I had a chance to ink up some of my Kitchen Sink stamps yesterday and was able to pull of a few challenges with them! YAY!

I have been kind of busy with the Dirty Dozen "stuff", but now the gallery is OPEN!! - YES! TODAY is the day and there are two new designers - you will be so excited about who is here now!! Our theme this month is "In the Beginning" celebrating all those firsts in your life!!

Okay, on to the business at hand!

I used the 3 Step Get Well Teddy from Kitchen Sink stamps for this card, and inked him up with grey's and black's so I could enter it into Dawn McVey's colour challenge this week, which is to use Green, Black and Cream.

I've been seeing a few cards with the sentiments flagged and kind of "bowed" (as in boe) up a bit, so I thought, since this is a long sentiment, "bowing" was the perfect answer!!

Hope you have a good day! It is beautiful and sunny and just absolutely gorgeous here today! I am off to comment on the Dirty Dozen gallery and then hang out some clothes on my new clothesline. Okay...... not so new anymore but still luvin' it!

Supplies:
Stamps: 3-Step Get Well Teddy (Kitchen Sink Stamps)
Paper: True Black, Vintage Cream, New Leaf (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: True Black and Vintage Cream(Papertrey Ink); Basic Gray (Stamping UP!); Chateau Gray (Versacolor)
Accessories: Buttons (Papertrey Ink); Corner Punch (Stamping UP!); pop dots

{Garden Gate}

Good Monday Morning to you!

Little Paper Shop is releasing it's second stamp set this month called {Garden Gate}.....just a gorgeous set with the most beautiful sentiments you can imagine!

It's also Little Paper Shop Monday, and the 15th of the month (the day of our monthly DT challenge), which means we have QUITE the awesome challenge for you to try, and TWO ways to WIN this set!

You can participate in our DT challenge, issued this month by the FABULOUS Jen, and also leave a comment to be randomly selected!

This month our challenge is to use texture on our card! Well, mine is kind of a busy creation today, so I opted to keep my texture on the "down-low"....... Smiley from millan.net and just added a bit of the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder to the pretty butterflies!

I know this photograph sucks but I can't figure out if something is wrong with my camera or if the daylight is just nasty lately...... Smiley from millan.net It really isn't that green.....

I finally broke open my Basic Grey Porcelain paper and used it with my Garden Arbor which is coloured with copics.....a very easy image to colour....you only have to dot your little flowers with colour and they are done!!

It is thundering and lightening here so I have to cut this short or I am afraid it will be fried pudding for me! Talk to you later and don't forget to head over to the Little Paper Shop blog to see all the fabulous creations!!

Thanks for coming around and please leave me a comment if you feel so inclined! I love to hear from you!!

{Katie Cupcake}

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Today I have a preview of the new stamp by Little Paper Shop called {Katie Cupcake}. Isn't she just so cute sitting way up there on her cupcake throne?!

She is one of my favorite little stamps and our sneak peeks from today and tomorrow will be available on June 16th at
Little Paper Shop! for a 10% discount for one week only or until they sell out, whichever comes first! What a deal!!

Also, if you leave a comment on the Little Paper Shop blog you may be the lucky winner of today's stamp {Katy Cupcake}!!

I stamped {Katy Cupcake} many times so that I could cut out and paper piece almost everything ;).

I used the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the icing and the background to give my card some texture AND unbelievably I used my paper piercer to pierce some holes in the Spellbinders Label One that is behind Katy. I love how Jessica Rone uses her paper piercer all the time and has such a fabulous outcome! So thank you Jessica for the inspiration!

{Katy Cupcake} is paper pieced with the K & Company Berry Sweet designer papers. Aren't they so pretty and bright??

The flower is cut with the Stamping UP! Birds and Blooms Sizzlits Die and has a Karen Foster jewel brad through the center of it!

The happy sentiment comes with {Katy Cupcake} and I cut it out with the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio and tied it with Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise twill ribbon.

Please help us in welcoming two new Design Team members this month, Heather Lee-Reppen and Janna Hull! I have had the extreme pleasure of working with both of these girls on Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday Design Team so I know they will bring a lot of talent to our team!

Now off you go to leave a comment on the Little Paper Shop blog so you can have a chance to win today's sweet stamps!

Some FUN, especially for me!

Smiley from millan.net Woot! Woot!!! I am so fabulously excited because I have been asked by Taylor Van Bruggen to be her Featured Cupcake Sampler today!! ohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmygoodnessohmygoodness

Honestly, I don't think I am a gusher, so it is hard to get my feelings out without posting a kazillion bunch of !!!!!!!!!!, but I am totally floored and honoured to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler this week and to work along with Taylor's fabulous Baker's Dozen!! Thank you Taylor for asking me!

Now what's so hard about saying that
?

Ah well on with the fun stuff!........I made my card bright and cheery today because it has been raining here and I can't even hang out clothes on my new clothesline. I wonder how long I can say "my new clothesline". When does a clothesline become un-new?

Whatever, I needed some cheeriness!

I used Taylor's sketch (of course), Kim Hughes stamped image Cosmo the Turtle and Papertrey Ink cardstock along with some fun K & Company Berry Sweet designer papers.

The little lollipop is covered in Crystal Lacquer to make it all shiny and yummy and I cut out the little guy and then glued him back onto the cardstock. I do this because I like the look but without the added bulkiness so you can still pop it in the mail!

Speaking of popping, make sure you pop around to the Baker's Dozen design team to check out their "sure-to-be-fabulous" creations with this fabulous sketch!

Hubby has gone to Michigan International Speedway to see the LifeLock 400 race this weekend and I am missing him.....On the positive side, I can stamp to my heart's delight!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Kim Hughes
Paper: Papertrey Ink cardstock, K & Company Berry Sweet designer paper
Ink: Memento black, copics
Accessories: WE R Memory Keepers eyelets, Cuttlebug spots and dots embossing folder, Stamping Up
scalloped punch, Prima flower, Crystal lacquer

Happy Anniversary.....again!

Another anniversary card for the couple that celebrated their 70th anniversary........but this one wasn't bought......awwwwwwwww. Smiley from millan.net

I did a little bit of sewing at the top and also used my Basic Grey Porcelain chipboard stickers. You can barely see the shadow of Sweet Blush Damask that is stamped under the sentiment. I added a pearl in the middle of the damask because I love pearls!! Smiley from millan.net

I love the softness of this card and the fact that I got to use one of the bazillion chipboard stickers that I have!

Oh my, what a gorgeous sunny day it is here...... I can hang out clothes yay!!

I am going to spend the day looking after our daughter Holly.....she had a funky looking "thing" taken off her neck yesterday and I tell you, even I was feeling a little ill after the procedure was done.

It was gross and I am sure her head is hurting today, so off I go to trot across the road to see how she is feeling.......

If you can, take a peek back here in a couple of hours, I will have another post and a bit of exciting news.....for me anyway!

Supplies
Stamps: Papertrey Ink Damask
Paper: Papertrey Ink Kraft, Vintage Cream and Sweet Blush
Ink: Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream and Sweet Blush
Accesories: Basic Grey Porcelain chipboard stickers, Fiskars lace punch, sewing machine, Kaisercraft pearl
