Meet Asian Garden Additions

Good Morning and welcome to Day 3 of meeting the new stamp sets from Waltzingmouse Stamps that are being released on July 1st!!

Today I am showcasing Asian Garden Additions, with a little Asian Gardens thrown in hah!!

You know I like layers and bows and punches oh my! but I wanted to show you how easy it is with these sets to pull off the Clean and Simple (CAS) card as well.

For the purple background, I cut a square out of a piece of cardstock with the square nestabilities and then using the negative space, I sponged Plum Pudding into the center of the card to make the coloured square.

From there I just stamped my tree from Asian Gardens in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then stamped the bridge and sentiment from Asian Garden additions.

Very simple, but it says what is needed in a very clean fashion.

Okay and now for some fun news!! The FREE SHIPPING offer is back!!. From Thursday July 1st to Saturday July 3rd, there will be free shipping on orders over £50GBP (that's approx $75USD, $86.20AUD, $78 CAD and €61 Euros at today's rate from XE.com , subject to change). yay!

Now make sure you see what the other designers have been doing!!  Claire, Anya, Julia, Carly, Jennifer, Edna, Belinda, Laurie  and Lynn have all created projects to tempt you, along with our guest designer Edna Morrisedie!!

Meet Victorian Fripperie......

Good morning! It's time for me to start posting my peeks for the new sets that Waltzingmouse Stamps will be releasing on July 1st!

We have a fabulous new design team member, Carly Robertson - please make sure you visit her blog to congratulate her!
AND we have a wonderful guest designer for the month of July, Edna Morrisedie, so pop on over there to see her fabulous creation!

AND last but not least for sure......Free Shipping is back!!!......From Thursday July 1st to Saturday July 3rd, there will be free shipping on orders over £50GBP (that's approx $75USD, $86.20AUD, $78 CAD and €61 Euros at today's rate from XE.com , subject to change). Woo hoo!!!
Now for my card!
I decided to showcase the new set Victorian Fripperie for my first peek. I have only used ONE of the many stamps this set contains, and that was the backgrounder- I LOVE backgrounders!!

The lovely strip of "fripperie", as Claire has so smartly named it, was used to make the background in Aquamist.

I added some Cosmo Cricket paper (Early Bird) with a border of Pure Poppy cardstock on the top and a piece of Vintage Cream punched with the lace punch on the bottom.
Then I ruffled up some Vintage Cream ribbon and tied some of that fabulous crinkly ribbon (that I made myself *pat's own back!) around and adhered it to the card!

The stamped sentiment "Daughter" is from Roses in Bloom and it is stamped in Pure Poppy.

Now off to the designer's that are showcasing today!
Claire, Belinda, Anya, Julia, Lisa, Carly (the new girl lol!), Jennifer, Lynn, and  Edna our guest designer -yay!!

I don't have anything to show today - still working on my samples......but we have a fabulous new design team member, Carly Robertson - please make sure you visit her blog to congratulate her!

Woo hoo!!!

Kind Words...

Just a little Teacher's Gift I made up, with a tutorial, over at  Splitcoaststampers when I was in the Dirty Dozen!

You have to be a member of the Fan Club to see the tutorial though...sorry.....but you can probably figure it out by looking at it. If I can do it anyone can lol!

It doesn't take much to see all the wonderful works of the designers they have now! Fabulous work! This month they are focusing on invitations - too fun and so very classy!!

Of course I used Papertrey Ink's Teacher's Apple to make up this duo.....I just stamped the apples onto the memo pad - make sure you hold the memo pad together really well or you get split apples - lol! found that out already!

Don't forget that the sneak peaks for Waltzingmouse Stamps start tomorrow! I am not up until Tuesday, but make sure you get around to see the other's designers creations! And we have two NEW designers - you will absolutely squeal when you find out who they are - you're gonna love them!!

Soothe Away the Day...

*Sorry folks....this was supposed to post yesterday when I was in a golf tournament - that we won, by the way.....

Just a fun little card I made while trying to get out of this paper crafting funk I am in.

I have got some deadlines coming up so I better find a way right smartly! yikes!!

Using Waltzingmouse Stamps Afternoon Tea set I inked up the little cups and the spoon and stamped them on the inside of the card.

Then I took PTI's die and cut out a window so you could see the cups. It looks like the cups aren't centered but that is just the angle of the card - true story. The bottom and top of the card is PTI's designer paper and Hawaiian Shores cardstock (in love but you already know that....)

I made the flower from some pattern tissue paper - actual dress pattern tissue paper - I bought one of Michelle Wooderson's beautiful aprons and it came wrapped in the tissue paper - bonus!!

I added a beautiful blingy brad and one of the little taggy sentiments from the Afternoon tea set!

Well, today I am off to a Breast Cancer golf tournament - so excited to be golfing again with my friends and to be raising money for a great cause!!

Happy Birthday!

Hey folks! Another birthday card today but you will have to skip on over to DRS Designs blog to see the whole thing!

Today is my day to post and I have used the stamp that one of yesterday's commentors won - just to show her the versatility of it!

Here is a little snooper-dooper of it!

Take a gander over to the DRS Designer blog and leave a comment and you could win tomorrow's stamp with your comment!  All month we are doing it free at DRS!!

A Little Note........

Good Monday Morning! What a gorgeous sunny day - just perfect to cut the grass, weed the garden or anything else I need my hubby to do while I stamp LOL!!

DRS Designs is the sponsor at Caardvarks this month and the theme is embossing!! Not too hard considering all the embossing folders I am collecting.....yikes!

I decided to get out my Cuttlebug Flourished Frame embossing folder this time and ran it through with a piece of Coerdinations cardstock.

This cardstock is so cool because after running it through the embossing folder, I was able to sand the frame and get a really nice white embossed feature that stands out so beautifully against the purple!

I added an extra square of Coerdinations cardstock in the middle of the frame, with the edges sanded, and then my sentiment A Little Note, from DRS Designs with a bit of bling to highlight the words!

The Medium Open Silhouette Butterfly was stamped, cut out and popped up onto the corner of the embossed frame!

Thanks for coming around and try to take some time to look at the Caardvarks challenge this month! YOU could win a package of stamps from DRS Designs!

And don't forget about our Stamp a Day Giveaway going on all month too!! Everyday we are giving away a stamp to one commentor - it could be you!!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

Can you tell I have been fooling around with the blog a bit?  I'm not too sure if I like this look or not - so it may not stay. If anyone knows how to stretch a blog header, any tips would be appreciated lol!

It's time for Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge again!! This week we have another cool sketch made by Claire herself - she is a whiz at these things! Here is the sketch....

and here is my interpretation - nice and bright isn't it?!!!

On my left was my Cosmo Cricket DeLovely pad of paper, on my right was a half made up card base with the embossed dots and everything - so what could I do?

I put them together and came up with my Birthday Wishes card using Fancy Phrases!

We would love for you to play! Just make a card using the above sketch and post it onto the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog! You may become a Top Mouse with an award and everything!! For further information see the sketch challenge blog!!

June Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz!

Welcome to another Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz! The design team is playing along today, too, and we have a little something up our sleeves.

As you waltz along, look very closely at each photo, for we've hidden little Chinese lanterns in some of them. Count them up and post your guess here in the Waltzingmouse forum for a chance to win fabulous prizes (Waltzingmouse stamps)!

This month our theme is masculinity! ugh.....That is a tough one for everyone I think - so therefore a great challenge!!
I chose to use the stamp set Free Spirit and Free Spirit Sentiments, because they are basically masculine sets, and I really haven't stamped them up enough!

I stamped the backgrounder from Pic-Nic patterns in Smokey Shadow ink onto Soft Stone cardstock - love this look!

The "waves" were punched from the Fiskars wave punch and then highlighted with Fresh Snow ink. I also ran Fresh Snow ink around the edges of the Basic Gray cardstock - I bought the small cube of Fresh Snow ink so that it is easier to handle running it around the edges or highlighting things like waves !

I stamped the surf boards in New Leaf, Terracotta Tile and Hawaiian Shores ink, cut them out and popped them up onto the front of my card and then stamped the sentiment!

I hope you like it and are getting some great masculine ideas this waltz, and don't forget to count those Chinese Lanterns!!

CASE-ing Debbie Olson.....

I am in love with Debbie Olson. There I said it.....

Her work is absolutely stunning - all of the time.....therefore I CASE - Copy and Steal Everything, Copy and Share Everything (I like this one...) or even Clean and Sober Experience - (I looked up CASE)

I saw these beauties by Debbie, on the The Classroom (Ellen Hutson's site with a bevy of informative and inspirational posts on how to use your products).

Using her background stamps, Debbie created gorgeousness - so I, in my infinite wisdom, have decided to attempt gorgeousness also - and I love the outcome!! yay!

I used DRS Designs backgrounders and basically made one of the cards that Debbie had made - because I love it!

I used three different backgrounders from DRS Designs, Interlocking Star Background, Vicki's Versatile Background, and Large Original Plaid.

The oval is the Ribbon Scallop Mega Oval, which fits the Marvy Scalloped oval punch (the pink one) so that is such a happy plus!!  I finished it off with the Small Script Happy Birthday stamp - and all in RED and WHITE - love it!

My daughter Holly and I are off to see "Sweet Charity" today starring Cynthia Dale at the Huron Country Playhouse - looking forward to that!

Trust in Him...

Good morning!

I have a Waltzingmouse Stamps project for you today - sort of a quick and easy if you will! - but first some fun business to tend to!

We hope you have all marked your calendars for Thursday, June 17th... the date of our monthly Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz! They are always on the 17th of each month so that you can plan ahead.

The fun will begin at 7:00 am Pacific, 8:00 am Mountain, 9:00 am Central, 10:00 am Eastern, 3:00 pm GMT!

Our theme this month is Let's hear it for the boys... masculine cards/projects! All we ask is that you use Waltzingmouse Stamps stamps (and/or templates) for your blog waltz cards/projects.

As always, the festivities will take place in the Play Room in the Waltzingmouse House forum. (If you haven't registered yet for the forum, it's just a few clicks away!) The threads will go live when the waltz begins... one for you to post your blog address if you are participating in the waltz, and another for chat.

And of course there will be prizes!!! A stamp set of choice awarded randomly to one of those who participate in the Blog Waltz, and a stamp set of choice awarded randomly for one who correctly states the number of special watermarks found on the Design Team (and Claire's) cards/projects!

We'd love it if you would post the Blog Waltz badge above on your blogs to help spread the word, linking back to this post. For those who participate in the waltz, please include the Blog Waltz badge at the top of your post so that we can easily find you.

It will be so fun, so please plan to join us - that's the day after tomorrow so let's get those masculine projects started - let's face it - we all need help with those silly men cards lol!

Onto today's project!!

I love the Papertrey Ink's Green Boutique patterned paper - probably because it has that delicious Hawaiian Shores colour in it - I am truly in love with this colour!

Using Hawaiian Shores cardstock and Green Boutique patterned paper, I decorated the bottom half of my card. Then I got out my Zva crystal flourishes and added the green one to the card so that it would look like a tree - use your imagination - lol!!

Using Waltzingmouse Stamps Words of Wisdom I stamped the sentiment in New Leaf Ink.

I got out my seldom used Spellbinders bird die and cut out a small bird. Before I removed it from the die I inked it with PTI's chamomile ink and added a little crystal gem that I had coloured with a copic marker.

I popped it up onto the card and presto! facto! done-o!

Hubby is out flying his remote control planes tonight - it is such a beautiful night I can hear them buzzing around like little dive bombing wasps lol!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge

Yes, it is week #2 for the sketch challenge at Waltzingmouse Stamps!

Last weeks winners have been announced on the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog -check it out to see if it is you or not!

This is this week's sketch and my interpretation:

I used the bird cage and sentiment Asian Gardens for my focal point along with Very Vintage Labels 4 to frame it.

I cut it out with Spellbinders Labels 4 die - a perfect fit of course!-and which Waltzingmouse Stamps is now selling yay!!

My patterned paper is Basic Grey Capella - which I have now just opened to use in this project (hanging head in shame!) I am such a hoarder.....but I am trying to work on that....

My beyond gorgeous ribbon is from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Ribbon store - which has enough ribbon to make your eyes go buggy and your mouth drool a little....true story....

Check out the other Waltzingmouse designer's take on this sketch too! I know they have some lovely designs to show you!

Just a little note.....

Well, these cards started out a completely different way! But in the end I am happy with them....so all is good!

I made a set of note cards using DRS Designs stamps Just a little note.... and one corner of the Four Flower Background, only I used it as a focal point - you can do so many things with stamps!

I used the same design on all four cards choosing to use Sweet Blush, Simply Chartreuse, Terracotta Tile and Aquamist inks.

The shapes were cut with Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circle Dies SM, Circle Dies LG, and the Labels 12 Dies.

I sewed around and Label 12 dies with chocolate thread - it's supposed to be messy sewing lol!

Thanks for coming around today!

7 Jun 2010

Glorious Spring Wishes!

I think it is safe to finally say that spring is here yay!! considering all the rain we are having - the good side (and there always is a good side!) is that I don't have to water my plants and it smells absolutely delicious!!

I made this card for the Waltingmouse Stamps sponsorship of Stamping Around back in March and it conveys my feels exactly - I love this sentiment!

I used Spring Baskets for my focal point and sentiment and coloured it with copics. The basket is two pieces and the flowers are another stamp. I just lined them up - terribly easy -and stamped away!

The little squares background stamp is from Off Beat Backgrounds .

Embossing and a lot of edge punches finished off my card nicely!  Thanks for coming around - should have a new card for you tomorrow!

Get Well and a DRS Designs All Month Give-away!

This is my second post today - please click on this link to visit the Waltzingmouse Designer's Blog Waltz! Thank you!

Good Wednesday to everyone! The giveaway information for DRS Designs is at the bottom of this post - so scroll down, but be warned, you will get an electric shock along the way if you don't look at my card.....just sayin'....*snort*!

I have a get well card for you today using one of the stamps from DRS Designs! I am officially a Design Team member so it is time to show off a little ..lol!

I used little Leonard Pig Sickday Blues, Cured Yet? sentiment and the Large Stained Glass backgrounder for this colourful card!

I stamped Leonard Pig with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured him with my copic markers. Memento Ink is grand for stamping when you are going to be colouring with copics - no streaking or running at all - I use it for everything copic related!

I stamped the Stained Glass backgrounder and then stamped the Leonard Pig stamp over top. I cut out the quilt part of the stamp and then coloured it in different shades of blues so that it would be sweet!

The quilt was then glued on top of the coloured Leonard Pig image. I also restamped Leonard, coloured only his nose and the flower, cut them out and popped them up onto the image also.  Doesn't he look like he is so sick??!!

And now what you've all been waiting for...

Waltzingmouse Designer Blog Waltz!

ETA: Apologies all around - my blogger didn't post this morning - just grrr.  This post is a titch late which essentially kind of screws up the waltz for a bit, dang it! .....but it is up now so enjoy!

Welcome to our monthly Waltzingmouse Designer Blog Waltz!

Usually the beginning of the month is reserved for Waltzingmouse Stamps new sets being shown off, but since we spent all our energy on our Birthday last month lol! there are no new sets this month but still a waltz and still prizes to be won yay!

Leave a comment on this blog post and all the other designer's blogs posts along with Claire's blog and one of you will win a stamp set from Waltzingmouse Stamps!! woot woot!!

You should be coming from Lisa's Blog and if you just stopped in - welcome to my blog but  you may want to start at the beginning of our waltz- at Claire's Blog!. We are focusing on the original sets that Claire designed for Waltzingmouse Stamps - isn't that grand!

I decided to use the stamp set Hallowe'en Party . simply. love. it.

My Basic Grey Eerie designer paper was still handy (don't say it) and stamped the witch image from Hallowe'en Party in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the patterned paper.

The tag was made using my Scalloped Tag Tutorial, but I used the Spellbinders Mega Deckled rectangles - for a sort of creepy look! I attached a large bow and button and added it to the card base.

I also stamped some of the bats onto the patterned paper to make it a bit more creepy lol!

The sentiment was cut out with the small deckled rectangle and attached with some pop up foam tape!

Thanks for coming around - don't forget to leave a comment so you have a chance at a prize and your next stop will be Julia's Blog!
