WMS Sketch Challenge!

Good Morning and yes it is a good one! It is going to be 34 C here today which converts to about 94 F......a hot one and we deserve it!

I was able to plant my flowers yesterday - albeit some of them in the mud....but I was tired of seeing all that prettiness still sitting in their pots on my deck!! haha!

Today I am showing you the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #49 to be exact! and a card that I created using the challenge - this is also for the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoaststampers (congratulations Rosemary!) because the card I cased is pretty close to the sketch - so I went with it!

I didn't think I would love the look of blue and purple together but it really gives a beautiful soft touch don't you think?!

Thanks for stopping around and why don't you try the sketch this week? You need to use Waltzingmouse Stamps - check out the store - you will be glad you did!

Cardstock: Blueberry Sky, Bazzill purple, white
Ink: Spring Rain, Versamagic Petal Petunia
Accessories: twine (The Twinery), Doily edgers (PTI), Spellbinders Labels Four, Kaisercraft Pearls

I"ve Got my Eyes on You!

This week's Hambo Hoedown challenge was to use texture somewhere on your creation, and since I played in last week's challenge, they sent me the free Moonscape digi  to use-- very cool!!

I paired it up with the Eye Monster - digi and came up with this creation!

I printed the Moonscape -digi on Hopscotch Basic Grey paper and then shaded it with a copic marker. The Eye Monster digi was coloured with my copic markers - isn't he a pretty colour?! Maybe it's a she today haha!

For the texture part of the challenge, I die cut some stars from the Spellbinders star dies and then ran them through the Crafts Too hearts embossing folder, added a button and pearls and presto - done!!

Thanks for coming around today - we are off to a Volkswagen show with the old truck - it is NOT raining. woohoo!!

Challenges that Wow!

Good day and a day late for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge card - oops 2 days late! Today is a holiday in Canada - we celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday on a Monday of every May, so that means that all day I am going to think that this is Sunday.....lol!

I am combining challenges today - the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - which I took great liberties on - who'd a thunk it??! and the Scrapbooker's Paradise - Playing in Paradise Challenge - which is to use only black and white in your creation!

I stamped the images and circles and then punched them out with my yellow scalloped Marvy punch. I tied a bit of twine (The Twinery)  through each black button and also at the top of the card.

I used my Cuttlebug Herringbone folder with white ink swiped across it for the background!

Take a look at both of these challenges - you will have a lot of fun with them!

It's a BIG Day!

Hi everyone! Today marks the 2nd anniversary of Waltzingmouse Stamps, and although Claire has chosen to take everything on herself - what a girl! - the design team decided to celebrate with Claire by surprising her with some designs!

I chose to work with Back in the Saddle and Way Out West - two of my favorites - oh- who am I kidding,  they are all my favorites!!

I decided to do some emboss resist, a technique that I haven't tried for a long time!

I started by stamping the lace background from Faux Fun in Chai ink onto white cardstock - yes I work backwards hah!

Then I stamped the sentiments in Versamark and clear embossed the words. Using Spring Moss ink, I sponged over the embossed sentiments with my dauber.  The boots were stamped last with Sweet Blush ink.

I tied some twine around the panel and secured it with a button.

The cardbase was stamped with the Navajo backgrounder from Way Out West in Fresh Snow Ink and I topped that with piece of Bazzil cardstock that was punched with the Stamping UP! scallop punch and embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing button strip folder!

Happy Anniversary Claire!!

Wishing you Happiness Hambo Style!

Hambo Stamps has a very cool challenge blog and if you enter their challenge, then the next week they will send you - FREE! - a new digi image!

So, since I played last week's challenge with this Hambo imageI received this overbearing and SWEET digital image lol! plus two sentiments! Isn't this Sumo Wrestler - digi by Hambo Stamps just the cutest little Sumo wrestler you ever saw?!

The challenge this week is to use chipboard on your creation - I haven't used chipboard in forever, so this was a great test for me!

I had some Maya Road chipboard houses so I thought this would make an excellent new home card!  I sprayed the chipboard with Maya Road red mist, waited until it dried and glued it to my October Afternoon patterned paper.

I tied some black twine around the top of my card to draw attention to the black haired sweetheart and the sentiment - What do you think??

Tie One On!

Welcome to the May Friends of Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz!  We have a Blog Waltz every month on the 17th and you are most welcome to join in! Just use a Waltzingmouse Stamp on your creation and link up your link at the Waltz page and presto! you're IN!!

This month our theme is MEN! Such a difficult theme to work with sometimes - do you think?

I just decided I would make a card that would definitly remove all doubts whether it was masculine or feminine! and I am sure you have seen this type of card before!

I stamped the reverse polka dot stamp from Gingham & Co. onto to Spring Rain cardstock and made the button down flap shirt.

For the tie, I just stamped the cowboy from Back in the Saddle in Spring Rain ink onto Soft Stone cardstock, and then stamped two of the sentiments  with Versamark in a diagonal pattern, embossing them with plain embossing powder.

My next card is a Birthday card fit for male or female but I think it tends to sway towards the masculine - what do you think?!

I can't get enough of this stamp set, Say It Loud! I love using those sentiments in various ways all over my creations lol!

I matched it with Life of the Party paper by Basic Grey as my beginning point and then just started stamping. The finishing point was the buttons which help bring it all together!

I hope you liked my creations and now I am off to check out the wonderful talent with the rest of the friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps!

Put the Kettle On!

Hello and welcome to this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

"We have recently instituted a small change regarding the requirements for the weekly sketch challenge.

Previously, we had no restrictions about the images you could use for the weekly Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge.  But since we all love Waltzingmouse Stamps, going forward we ask that you use at lease one WMS image on your submission. We reserve the right to remove entries that do not comply with the guidelines as it is not fair to the players who do. Including WMS images on your project adds to the creative inspiration we gain each week from your wonderful creations."

And I can't get the italicized to come off so you will have to bear with me through this post - is it Friday the 13th or something??!!

Here is our sketch this week, provided by one of our wonderful Mischief Makers, Edna Morrisedie!

I decided to make a little teabag holder that you could take to a friend's home so that you wouldn't feel so bad about dropping in unannounced!

I stamped the top part of the holder with Gingham & Co. reverse polka dots in Vintage Photo distress ink. I obviously didn't ink it up properly but I decided that I would go with this look regardless.

The sentiment is from Afternoon Tea Sentiments and the little cup and steam is from Afternoon Tea.

For the bottom of the holder, I stamped with Memento Rose and used the stamp set Way out West.

I held the tea bags in with some simple glue dots and then decorated the front so that it was pretty and so my neighbour would let me in lol!

Missing You....

Now that Blogger is up and running again, kind of, I can post this yay! This is for the My Favorite Things Sketch challenge that is going on this week.

I just received my new stamps and was anxious to try them out - I LOVE this typewriter stamp and the matching die - it comes as a set called Just My Type and it is so fun and pretty!

to finish it off the stamping.

I ruffled up some seam binding ribbon and laid it across the Scallop Ribbon Border to finish off the card. The paper is Basic Grey Life of the Party! woohoo!

My clothes are out on the line today - and it is starting to sprinkle out.... I love it because it will give it a rainwater rinse.....and if you believe that......lol!

I Scream You Scream!

I Dream for ice cream weather!! lol!

Here is another Hambo Stamps card .....I have been lacking in the "cute" department lately and these are so sweet! AND it works right into their theme this week which is to paper piece! Wahoo!

My Cosmo Cricket Salt Air 6 x6 paer pad was still lying out and I am notorious for hoarding my paper so I decided NO MORE!! Let's use it up!

I did a bit of paper piecing on this card - very simple! The sentiment is an old rub-on that I had and it worked perfectly - love when that happens!

Off to the Dr. today for check up and then GOLF starts for our Ladies League.. FORE!!

Hambo Stamps DT Call

Hambo Stamps is looking for a few new designers so I thought I would throw my hat in the ring! Here is the link to the application page.....

They sent me a couple of digi images to work with and so I got out my 6 x 6 paper pad of Cosmo Cricket Salt Air, because it is so summery and bright and it went with these images perfectly!

I coloured up the image with copics....of course with a digital image you need to be careful when using your copics because if you touch the black ink with your marker, it will pickup the black and smear all over your image!

I tried to make him look like he was a little sunburned as a child will get because they LOVE playing at the beach!

I used some crystal glaze on the swimming goggles for that shine and then some Zva Creative Crystal flourishes - that I always snip to my satisfaction!

The Twinery had just sent me a bunch of twine so I was able to incorporate it into my creation and then of course the cute little Cosmo Cricket letters to spell "SHINE"!

I think it turned out so cute and I am longing for this type of weather! Actually I am hanging out my clothes this morning on my clothesline for the first time this season.....and I won't be freezing my fingers off either ! yay!!

Beautiful!!

Oops! Sorry - blogger is being stubborn again.....this didn't post yesterday and I just checked in today .....

Good day and welcome to another sketch day by Waltzingmouse Stamps! Today was a simple one but I decided to make it harder than it had to be lol! I sort of went over the top but it still turned out all right!

I also chose to use the doilies from Dainty Doilies Large and Dainty Doilies 2 Small - such a fun set!

I let the paper do the talking today - I used the beautiful Kaisercraft Chanteuse 6 x 6 paper pad - love the colours in this pad, along with the Kaisercraft Pearls.

On the center of the doily I just piled up the pearls and then added some Crystal Effects over top enabling the pearls to really STICK and creating a shiny finish!
Today is supposed to be a gorgeous day so I think I will try to spend some time outdoors!

Start the Day with Whee!!

Good morning!  My Favorite Things has a new sketch up this week so I gave it a try. It's been awhile since I've tackled one!

I used the sweet little Pure Innocence stamp called Start the Day with Whee! - so cute!

I used my Basic Grey Life of the Party 6 x 6 paper pack and followed the sketch - kind of falling off once in awhile lol!

I also used the Die-namics Flower Trio and Leaf Trio Die Duo for my flowers!

Speaking of flowers, I ordered a ton 'o flowers from my grandson for a fundraiser at our school and they came in yesterday. Now, since it is too cold to plant them.....uhm....Smiley from millan.net

in and out of the garage every morning and every night lol!

Happy Happy!

Good day! I thought I would show you a My Favorite Things card featuring one of the a la modes stamps - I know they are not for everyone, but I happen to think they are one of the cutest things going!

This stamp is called Birthday Girl and I love the big cupcake she is holding onto - no wonder she is happy!! - although I am still eating the Easter jelly beans....nasty things - yum!

I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured her with my copic markers.

I used fabric tape that I bought at last year's CHA in Chicago - oh how I want to go back again - trying to talk my daughter into taking the train from Port Huron to Chicago - it is only $37 return - how ridiculously cheap is that?

Thanks for looking!

WMS Release Day Blog Waltz!

Have you enjoyed all the sneak peeks?! I know I have enjoyed making cards for it!

Today is our last peek at a new set PLUS our Designer Team Blog Waltz -there will be a prize of a stamp set of choice from a random drawing from one of the Design Team's blogs so try to leave a comment on each of the girl's blog so that you can be included in the draw!

You should be coming here from Sandie Dunne's blog (if you are following along with the Waltz) and if you haven't you might want to start at the beginning, on Claire's blog, - you don't want to miss a delicious thing!

Today's set is called "Say It Loud" and it is an elegant large stamp set with "9" LARGE words and "29" smaller sentiments that go along with those LARGE words!  I know - "38" stamps in one set - crazy isn't it??!

In my first sample I chose to use the designer paper from October Afternoon called campfire - I love the stars paper!

"take care" is all one sentiment and then I chose to use three other sentiments to accompany it!

My next card is colourful and fun and cheery!! and I chose to only use the one sentiment - but it really states it loud and clear!!

I was extremely inspired by a card in the Card Creations Volume 8 on page 12 by Kalyn Kepner -for her card she used a piece of patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket's called Sweater Weather from Jolly by Golly.

I used close to those colours to stamp my sentiment! I think the recipient should get the message don't you??!! lol!

So now you are off to Sarah Martina's blog where she has something delightful in store for you!!
