New Technique Challenge!

Just a quick post today!!

I am back to work in the barn and today is math class for Holly, so I am squeezing it in!!

Monday's technique challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was to go back to dry embossing but on vellum this time! I haven't dry embossed for ages (well, without a machine!) and never done it on vellum, so this was fun!

I stamped the Women of Life stamp in Brilliance black dew drop on a piece of vellum and then turned it over and using my stylus, I embossed the middle of the flowers. I have a close up of the embossed image here. You can see how it is kind of sticking out!

I think I was supposed to emboss that whole image, now that I actually read the whole post of directions AND paid attention.....geez Bonnie......LOL!

I adhered it to a piece of aquamist cardstock from Papertrey Ink.

I cut out a frame in black cardstock from the nestabilities - just cut a scalloped rectangle and then use the smaller plain edge rectangle and cut it exactly in the middle. Makes a great frame!!

I glued the frame to the image and then popped it up on some Everyday Blessings paper that was glued to an Aquamist card base!!

I added some faux stitching and corner stamps from the Everyday Blessings stamp set from Papertrey Ink, some brads, and a little bit of black ribbon to pull it all together!!

I love the look of this colour with black!
