Retro Euphoria!

I just HAD to order the Retro Boutique stamp set from Gina K Designs when I saw all the yummo cards that had been made with this set!

Sometimes I have no imagination until I see something done, then I think of all sorts of possibilities. Such was the case with this set.

I love those shoes and that dress is to die for!!

And I got my Basic Grey Euphoria 6 x 6 paper pack awhile back, and of course I hoarded it!!

But
I had to break it out when I received my Retro Boutique stamp set!

What a perfect dress this is for paper piecing!! - So simple!!

You can see I broke out the sewing machine for this one.....that is because I basically stole the layout from Michele Boyer, on this post.

Her blog is freakin' amazing!! and she has the coolest layouts, so I thought she shouldn't just leave them there, they should be shared!!

I stamped the dress on to two different dp's from the Euphoria paper pack and also onto some Papertrey Ink white cardstock.

I cut out the skirt and and the top (minus the straps) from the Basic Grey paper and pasted them onto the stamped image on the white cardstock.

Then I used my tall nestabilities rectangle to only cut part way down the top of the image.

I do this in my Cuttlebug and you just place your die on the image as usual but carefully roll down only to where you will start to hand cut your image, then stop, take the image off and finish cutting with scissors.

I think it is easier to do than explain, but it makes for a very cool effect don't you think??!!

I added some purple stickles around the bottom and top of the skirt of her dress. You can kind of see the sparkling on the frills! So pretty!!

I doodled around the image and glued it to some Papertrey Ink Plum Pudding cardstock, then I added a couple of flags of stray ribbon that I have in a little basket on my desk.

My daughter Marcie can attest to the fact that I have stray everything laying around, so I bought a few little wire baskets from our local "push and shove" store (2/$3 --yay shopper Bon!!).

I have my Stickles in two baskets, right in front of my nose so that I actually use them, and some stray this's and that's in another basket!! - ribbon tails, punched out tags's that I didn't use etc.

I used dimensionals to pop up the image on to the card and then
I added a Prima flower which has a beautiful designer brad from The Paper Company and added to it and tucked it under the dress.

The sentiment is simply Happy Birthday, from the same Retro Boutique stamp set, because you can NEVER have enough birthday cards!!

What do you think?? Isn't it so very pretty and colourful??!
