It is the 15th of the month and I have just today, well, just NOW, finished my challenge card for the Little Paper Shop design team challenge!!
I'll blame Allison......
It was Sarah's turn to issue the challenge this month, and her challenge was to create a 5" x 5" square card using only two colours and a neutral. The catch was that the only stamping could be words or sentiment as the focal image.
I inwardly groaned although I could have groaned outwardly because it is only me sitting here!
But really, it didn't turn out to be that tough of a challenge Sarah! and that is why they call it a challenge!! I think it was Renee who reminded me of that--back when I groaned at her challenge!! Yes, I'm a groaner.....
I just always think, why can't a challenge just be to make a card??! See, how easy is that??! However, as my brilliant (true) mother would say "Some people would call that thought l-a-z-y!!" LOL!!
So, here is my card and thank goodness for patterned paper!!
I chose my designer paper from Memory Box's Provence , Russian Sage and Eggshell. I bought these papers from Ellen's store and I love it because she always has a little blurb about which cardstock matches up with the designer paper.
So I really didn't have to think very much-- it said use Russian Sage and Eggshell - and so I did!!
I created a butterfly with my Martha Stewart punch and a piece of Russian Sage cardstock.
Then I punched out another butterfly with some scrap patterned vellum, rolled up a glue dot and attached it to the vellum butterfly. Then I adhered it to the Russian Sage butterfly!! KWIM??!
I added a bit of bling to the butterfly's body because she wanted to look pretty!!
I tied some sheer grey ribbon around the side to finish it off.
The sentiment is from "Beautiful Things" and this stamp set is not yet available but is a sneak peak of a sneak peak!!
I stamped the sentiment in Brilliance Black right onto the Provence patterned paper.
I finished the card off by dabbling some Frosted Lace stickles here and there - twice actually because, naturally, I didn't let it dry the first time and it ended up all over my arm!! I'm probably the only one that has ever happened to! haha!!
Be sure to check out the rest of the design team's challenge cards...they are so amazing.....but then again, I am so late in posting, that you have probably already checked them out!!
