You're quite wonderful...

This is going to be an exciting month for me - because it is all about the GREEN!! My favourite colour in the whole. wide. world!

My creation today focuses on green -yay- and a few up and running challenges. The Card Concept and the Fusion Card Challenge both have challenges relating to green, St. Patrick's Day, or just being a lucky guy!

And the fabulous Betsy Veldman has an interesting technique for the Make It Monday challenge - Ombre Stenciled Backgrounds - so I am going to give it a shot.

I am using both the sketch and the inspiration for Fusion - albeit, I turned the sketch around - my crafty prerogative!

Make it Monday has so many techniques available - some you have probably already heard about or actually used - but this one is so easy and quick - I had to try.

I began by sponging Limeade Ice ink onto my cardstock panel and working my way up, using Simply Chartruese and finishing with Bright Buttercup.  For some unknown crazy reason - this sponging does not come easy to me argghh!!!

And now for the stencilling! - lay your stencil on top of your finished sponging and RE-sponge your same colour of inks - lightly - onto the stencil- such a pretty finished product!

I die cut the Branching Out die in white cardstock and then again in vellum and adhered it to my ombre stencilling.

The bottom of the card is a piece of patterned paper from the Winter Woods Collection.  The design actually runs along the side of the paper, but I cut it to size and adhered it to the back of my stencilling.

The sentiment is from Sentiment Splits Stamp Set, and is stamped onto a sliver of Soft Stone cardstock.

So there you have it - and there are a lot of challenges out there - always one to fit your style!
