I finally had a challenge where I absolutely HAD to do something 3-D. That is certainly not my forte, but it was Silvia's Little Paper Shop challenge and I had seen this cute little backpack tutorial on Splitcoaststampers, so I decided to try it!I think it is the perfect size for a gift card, so I made a little set for someone starting out on their own - maybe going to school, or leaving the state or province!!
We would love to have you join the Little Paper Shop team for this 3-D challenge! You have until Sunday, May 24th to complete your 3-D creation with the winner being announced the 25th. Our prize is TWO free digital images,
so don't forget to link up to the Little Paper Shop blog!! If you upload to Splitcoaststampers or Papercraft Planet please use the keyword LPSC16!

I started out by cutting my 12 x 12 piece of Fancy Pants designer paper into a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. Then I printed off the backpack templates that you can download from the tutorial onto this sheet of paper.I followed the tutorial, which sounded a lot more complicated than it really was. If you just follow it step by step and don't get ahead of yourself, it turns out fine! The one thing I could say is WATCH OUT for the direction you put your designer paper in your printer or you will print off the template upside down - like me!
For the card, I used the trees and mushrooms from the stamp set {Forest Critters}, stamped them onto Kraft cardstock and coloured them with copics.Using the Spellbinders Curved Rectangles I cut out the image and then a frame for behind the image. The sentiment on the tag is from the {All Occasions} stamp set and the little fern leaves on the sentiment is from the stamp set {Floral Wishes}.Okay, some of you were asking about the tests I had the other day. It was the crappy test
, a colonoscopy, not fun, but not too bad. The preparation was the worst part......and I don't even remember the actual test, they give you some sort of drug that makes you an amnesiac
LOL! no really, you don't even know it is happening.......so thank you everyone for your well wishes. Not to worry, I'm not going anywhere yet!!Supplies:

Oh my goodness!! We are looking after out 3 month old granddaughter for FIVE whole days!! YAY!!
That's the good news.I am probably not going to get a dang thing accomplished as far as stamping/scrapping this weekend!!That's the bad news.Ah well, it is all good and I am going to try to remember what a baby routine is and get into it somehow.... we spent the night singing last night......lullabies......

Today is Little Paper Shop Monday and we have a sketch today designed by none other than our so very talented LPS design team member, Cindy Haffner!! What a great sketch Cindy, and THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.....yep...the bottom!!
Be sure to travel around to the other great designers blogs (links are on my sidebar!) to see the amazing things they have created with this awesome sketch!*ETA* Everyone is invited to play along today! Check over on the Little Paper Shop blog for details on how you can win some digital images!! YAY!!
I used Katie Mushroom, which is a digital image, and paper pieced the mushroom. It is so easy to do with a digital image. You just print off the image onto your designer paper! That's all there is.....so simple!
I was able to colour the rest of the image with copics and then do my cloud treatment, which I love! Isn't it just so pretty with those billowy clouds?!! All I did was to draw out a cloud image onto a piece of thin chipboard, and then cut it out. Then using the cloud as my template, I sponged Aquamist ink all around the cloud, in different areas on the image! I even turned the cloud over a few times so that it wasn't the "same" cloud all the time. I have even saved my template in my sanding block drawer, so that I can use it over and over again. I hope you don't get tired of it!I cut out the image with the Spellbinders plain oval nestabilities, and then the mat with the scalloped oval nestabilities and popped it up onto the card as per the sketch.I added some butterflies that I had punched out with the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and added a bit of bling
in the center of each one. Have a wonderful day! The sun is going to shine today and I am going to get some more yard work done, I hope!!Oh ya, I got some smileys......

Are you having a good Mother's Day? We had a wonderful time! My step-dad took my mom and my family out to brunch at the local golf course and it was delicious!I gave my mom the card I made and since it was a bit of an UNstandard size - 4 1/2" x 7" - I didn't have an envelope and I was kind of panicking! Then I remembered Michelle Wooderson's answer to that and decided to give it a try! I grabbed a large glassine bag and put my card in that! Then I tied some ribbon around, made a tag and a gorgeous bow and it worked wonderfully!
Of course, when I gave it to her and she opened it up, I had forgotten to sign ANYTHING inside of the card because I was so intent on wrapping the thing!! UGH!! But being a mom, she understood perfectly, and we laughed and I told her I did that so I could use it again next year!!
I wish I had have had time to add some bling across the bottom or aorund each scallop. Wouldn't that have been so pretty? but Ron was hollering at the back door about being late, or something silly like that, so I had to RUSH it! Of course, had I know that Mother's Day was today, would have solved a ton of problems ;) !
Sorry, I can't show you the whole card because it is a Dirty Dozen creation! But if you are a member of the Fan Club you can sure see it on the 15th of May which is coming up dang fast!! Check out the info to see if you would like to join! It is so worth it, with tons of inspiration every month, and you get to upload on Sunday's which is the sole reason I joined in the first place!!
Well.... off to watch the golf on television.....that is MY Mother's Day pure love......uhmmmmmm.....
