Merry Christmas!

Well, here it is finally - our wonderful Christmas Day. The day we open presents, hug loved ones and be relatively kind all day -AND the day Christ was born.

I hope you all enjoy your day with friends and family, neighbours and pets - whomever you choose to be with to celebrate your day.

Merry Christmas my friends!

Welcome Little One and Joy!

Well, even though the Paper Romance Challenges are taking a couple of weeks off, I still wanted to post my sweet little Girl Binky Monkey!

I used K & Company Nursery designer paper - so cute! and then a lot of Zva bling - which I had to colour with my copic markers - such a quick fun way to add the exact colour you need!

I can't believe I didn't add a ribbon of some sort...I need me my ribbon fix! But the little flowers are from My Favorite Things Dienamics so that is instead of my ribbon - it works!

Our next paper Romance challenge will be on January 6th, 2011! See you then!

Are you getting excited for Christmas?? It is going to be so fun round here! All the family comes to our home for Christmas Brunch - which only makes sense since we have the eggs lol!

My husband, son-in-law, son and step-dad make (and clean up! *thud*) the brunch while we women get to sit around and drink coffee and Bailey's. I really don't see anything wrong with that do you?!!

Oh JOY!!

Stamps for sale

Just a quick note to tell you that I am booking down in my stamp sets and will have several sets for sale on my "Stamps for Sale"  page (go figure) which is located on a tab right under my Lucky Clucker blog header.

I have Papertrey Ink, Cornish Heritage Farms - including Kim Hughes sets, The Greeting Farm, Gina K Designs to name just a few. They are being added daily until I have gone through all of them.....

I have moaned and whined to myself about this decision for weeks but I just don't have the time to give them the love and care that they so totally deserve......*sob*

Holiday Shines!

Oh yes, I have been ignoring my blog lately - but I have got all my presents wrapped and under the tree - which is actually up and decorated!!

Last year it didn't go up until the 24th of December - just didn't get in the spirit - but this year, Andy (my son) and his girlfriend Keri, brought up the tree and decorated it and I am so thankful that they did - it just got me rolling!! JOY!!

I have a card that I made for the Wednesday Stamp Club at My Favorite Things and also to follow along with the Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoaststampers yesterday.

The Featured Stamper was Mary Rose and this is the card I used to case. I loved all the glittery snow! The Wednesday Stamp Club theme was to make a last minute Christmas card using a Pure Innocence stamp!

I tore up some Vintage Cream cardstock to make some snow and added stickles along the top to make the beautiful glitter! The image is the Pure Innocence stamp Fairy girl cut out, and I altered her a bit by adding a snowflake to the end of her wand!

The sentiment is from MFT's Winter in the City - a perfect match!

I hope you are enjoying your holidays and/or snow or both!!

The Backwards Colour Challenge!

Good Morning and welcome to another Paper Romance Challenge!

You can use any stamp for our challenge but it would be awesome if you use one that is available in our PAPER ROMANCE STORE. You may combine with other challenges and you may enter more than once.

I hope you can join us and be eligible to win a gift certificate from the store! Just make sure you also link to the Paper Romance Challenge blog in your post and then link up with Linkitz on the Paper Romance Challenge blog to be eligible!

This week it was my turn to issue a challenge! I love thinking up different things just to confuse people lol!

I decided that I am getting tired of Red and Green for Christmas cards - so this week your challenge is a Backwards Colour Challenge - Use any colour but Red or Green to construct your Christmas cards - it may be tougher than you think!

I used Havin' a Ball Snowman for my image and Cosmo Cricket Pixie-licious designer paper - definitely no red or green in this card lol!

I stamped my image using  Memento Tuxedo Black ink - I consider this the best ink to use with copics - no smearing - so no crying :) -

The image is stamped on a piece of white cardstock - I rounded the corners and then used a die cut for the top of the white cardstock!

I used my handy dandy Zig glue pen on the snowballs, jacket cuffs and hat and then sprinkled on that yummy diamond dust - beautifully glittery!!

Isn't it gorgeous?!!
Now for my JOY post - After our BIG snow storm, my hubby was able to dig us out with his John Deere tractor (argh argh) and I could go into town and get some groceries!!

I was so happy about finally getting out that when the check out lady said, "That will be $407.23 please", I threw my hands up in the air and shouted " I WIN!!" lol!

My daughter was embarrassed and I did not care one bit....I was just so happy to be out - now that must be JOY to make a fool of yourself and not even care lol!!

Throw it to the wind....

Quick Christmas Ideas!

Just popping in, between shoveling our HUGE snow drifts, (pictures at the end) to show you a few quick gift ideas for your hostess if you so choose to give a sweet something!

First off - some decorated chocolate bars - easy and quick and pretty - who doesn't like chocolate?!

These were so quick when using Cosmo Cricket 6 x 6 paper pack.

Cosmo Cricket has the little white flap at the top of the page that you usually cut off - don't cut it off for the bars! Just wrap it around, fasten your Scor-tape to the white flap and it fits perfectly!

I used Waltzingmouse Stamps Holiday Labels 14  for the frame, cut out with Spellbinders labels 14 dies of course, and then a sentiment - which I don't know where it came from, a punched snowflake and a button!

Then a couple of notepads using Taylored Expressions Stamps What's Cookin' and matching dies and matching What's Cookin' chipboard!  These were wrapped in treat bags, twine and a button to fasten them! Super cute!

Some snow pictures - LOVE THE SNOW!! JOY!!

This is Monday......

This is today.....

We are digging out slowly.....unexpected but fun to see the kids build their snowmen - even the 25 years olds were out on this fun snow day!

12 Days of Christmas Waltzingmouse Style!

Good day! Normally at this time, we'd be previewing new stamp sets for our December release.

However, there will be no release this month in order to allow Claire time to focus on a few "behind the scenes" plans that will take us to the next level in the new year. It's all very exciting, so we ask that you bear with us! It will be worth it and I can hardly wait!

Instead, we're coming together to bring you some ideas and inspiration for holiday crafting (and beyond) which we are calling 12 Days of Christmas Waltzingmouse Style! Each day we will showcase a different design team member, so be sure to check back daily through December 17th for the links... and enjoy!

Today is MY day-- yay!  and I have personalized some soap containers with monograms - such a hot gift idea this year!

I was inspired by this idea right here (along with a few other great things to tuck away).

Now this blogger printed off the images on her computer, but I chose to stamp - because, well, that is what I do!

For each monogram soap container you will need the following:

- One hand pump soap - I used Softsoap, because it is clear and the label came off very easily for me.
- clear sheet to stamp on
- Staz-on ink - I used black
- scissors

1. Stamp image from Faux Fun Circles onto clear sheet - I have a piece of tissue paper under the clear sheet as you can see.

2. Stamp image from Vintage Circles Small inside circle

3. Stamp letter from Victorian Alphabet - I chose to use "S" since we have so many Sharp people at our Christmas's ..hehe....

Now cut out the clear sheet into a square that, when inserted into the soap container, will sit nicely along the bottom.

Roll the piece of clear sheet tightly and insert it through the top of the soap container. I had to use a chopstick to move the clear sheet around to where I wanted.

ETA: When you roll the clear sheet, making sure the stamping is on the inside of the "roll"  or it will scratch the ink off when inserting into the container - as you can see in my example (I rolled it the wrong way ...oops!)

Decorate soap container as desired and you area done!!

You could also buy an empty plastic bottle, add the stamped clear sheet and then the clear soap - that might be a bit easier - but I must say, all in all, it was good clean fun! lol!

Paper Romance Challenge #28

Good Morning and welcome to another Paper Romance Challenge!

You can use any stamp for our challenge but it would be awesome if you use one that is available in our PAPER ROMANCE STORE. You may combine with other challenges and you may enter more than once.

I hope you can join us and be eligible to win a gift certificate from the store! Just make sure you also link to the Paper Romance Challenge blog in your post and then link up with Linkitz on the Paper Romance Challenge blog to be eligible!

This week Judy Rozema challenged us to a heavy metal challenge!!  Not the music kind though, (thank goodness, lol!!)  just lots of metal products! Add eyelets, clips, hardware, washers...if it is metal..it's fair game!

I used a Unity Stamp that Paper Romance carries called "Together" - I have linked up the Unity Stamps because Paper Romance has sold out of this particular image but they have others heehee!!

My piece of metal is that little locket thing-y hanging from the button - I have had this for-ever - no kidding - and I am just so happy that I am able to use it today yay! JOY!

I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - I need to do more of these sketches - I love doing them - I just never think I have the time - now this came together very simply today JOY!

Oops....forgetting JOY!

I have forgotten to post my JOY'S this week - even after I said I would post every day - well, that is me ...

Can you picture a little 4 year old boy, all bundled up, hand in hand with his dad, walking down the laneway in the snow?

Jake my grandson and Jared my son-in-law - Ron and I were watching out the window as they walked down our laneway.....Jake kept turning around to watch his footprints in the first snowfall- JOY!.....I walked down to the shop, where Jared was putting together his model airplanes, and Jake was just wandering around looking at things.

I said to him, "I saw your footprints in the snow Jake - they were so fun to follow"

He said to me, "I left them for you Grandma, so you could find me..." Perfect JOY!

A Celebration of Colours!

Splitcoast Stampers is celebrating 300 weeks of colour challenges so this week the challenge is to use any of the last 299 challenges - wahoo!

I chose to use CC50 - Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise, and Apricot Appeal but since I have none of those colours I used Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shore (both PTI) and Sweet Corn (Gina K)!

The stamp set I have used is one that is finally seeing ink --Taylored Expressions - Garden Party Critters.

I stamped, coloured and cut out the little bees and then popped two of them up onto the beehive image, along with a HUGE flower filled with Zva crystals......luv it!

I used the Spellbinders Labels 14 die to cut out a label from the Basic Grey Curio designer paper. I think it adds a bit of pop!

Thanks for coming around and check out that milestone colour challenge!!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #26 and My Joy.

ETA: Claire has the most wonderful competition going on at her Waltzingmouse Blog - You can win prizes and everything!! - It's not a crafty competition - just a "nice" one!!

Good day and welcome to Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 26!

We have a funky little sketch today - a circle - eeks!

and here is my card using the Beaded Circle die from Spellbinders.....

I stamped the circles with Teeny Trees and added a little sparkle to them.......the sentiments are from Frame-It and Teeny Trees and I jsut bent them a little to wrap around the circle edge - so easy!

Won't you join us for this sketch challenge? You certainly don't have to use Waltzingmouse Stamps - but if you have them - why not? Claire occasionally gives away a free stamp set to one participant - how much fun!

JOY POST.....see this post to see what I am talking about.....

My Joy for today - well, let's just say that some of my Joy's may not be the kind of Joy you might expect.

My hubby is a hunter and this is deer-hunting week - I know - I am not a fan of it.....but I did hit a deer with my car once and wrecked it (my car) beyond belief - now I say - get themmmm......

This is the last day of deer hunting season - Ron called and said to me "honey, don't be alarmed, but I was accidentally shot.....meet us at the hospital" -----I gasped and then heard the guys laughing in the background.......for split second I felt profound JOY because he was fooling of course... but then it all changed and I hung up.....not sure if I will speak to him tonight or not......

What's Cooking?

A couple of weeks ago the weekly challenge at My Favorite Things was to create something that represent thankfulness.....

I am thankful for so many blessings but particularly that we have enough food (and more) at our table to feed our family every day!

I used the What's Cooking a la Mode girl - such a sweetie -doesn't she look like she is sweating cooking up a storm!  I don't see her on the website so she must be out of stock....but I'm sure she will be back in soon!

I used Cosmo Cricket Material Girl designer paper and Spellbinders Labels 10 die for the card.

I also used two of My Favorite Things dies - the large rick rack die and the flower die - cute!!

Okay, on to my Joy for today! If you didn't read the previous post - you can read it here

I am trying to celebrate Joy everyday in my life - I KNOW that I am blessed with so many things but I do have trouble grasping onto the "stop and enJOY it" part and so I am vowing to do that every day and post it to my blog - boring for you, but it's my blog so I can do it if I want (stamping foot) hehe!

Some of my Joy will be trivial and some may be mind boggling and/or eye-rolling to you lol! and I talk in dashes.......

Okay, Picture this. I was driving to the chiropractor the other morning and I had my seat warmer on in my car (aren't I lucky?)-- it was a freezing outside but the sun was shining -- and I mean shining, in my window -- and it started to hit me - this was a beautiful drive, an absolutely beautiful drive - how fortunate I am living where I do, being able to drive down a country road, no traffic, just me and the sun, and I began to smile - a HUGE smile and honestly, if I had have met anyone on the road - they may have thought I was a wee bit batty!

Okay, it's little ------ but I know that I was filled with JOY.....in capital letters....I think I do believe that some joy is teeny---I will find out -- but this JOY was LARGE! That's it for today.....thank you for listening to my first recorded JOY and not my last......

Embracing my Joy!

What a wonderful premise don't you think? I was cruising around Blogdumb yesterday and found this wonderful post on Sarah Markley's Blog! and God help me, I am going to do it.

I absolutely KNOW that I have Joy in my life - I just don't take the time to recognize it as I see it, and give God thanks!Smiley from millan.net

This is absolutely not like me at all......as many of you would dare to tell me (don't tell me) but by jeepers, I am going to stop and recognize and then embrace the Joy in my life everyday and post it to my blog!

My Joy's may not make sense to you - but then again they don't have to - as long as they make sense to me - wow! is this a break through or something?!

Be prepared!!  By the way, I am stone cold sober.....

Paper Romance Challenge #27

ETA: I forgot to mention (duh me!) That Paper Romance has a HUGE shipment of new High Hopes stamps that came in!! Run on over and take a look see - fabulous!!

This week Ria challenged us to make a winter themed card!

I don't have any Paper Romance Christmas stamps (yet) so I improvised and used a Miles Mouse stamp! Paper Romance is out of this particular stamp right now - but there are lots of other Miles Mouse stamps to choose from!

I converted it into a winter themed card by using Christmas paper - Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly-- and added some punched snowflakes! - although I imagine little Miles is probably freezingSmiley from millan.net without his winter coat on and some earmuffs for those big ears of his lol!

I also am playing in the following challenges:

The Crafty Pad : Snowflakes
Stampavie and More: Snow/Snowflakes

Thanks for coming around and stay warm!
