Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

I thought I would try  my hand at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - and this is #187 - Karen is a crazy girl!! and totally dedicated to her sketches!

Ron's brother is turning 60 on July 1st - yep! a Canada Day baby! so I took the opportunity to put together a birthday card for him. And look at me go - it's a masculine card - difficult for me!

I haven't EVER used my  MFT Die-namics Jersey and Stamp Set, although I have had it for at least a year -  BAD!
From Millan.Net

I die-cut the man's T-shirt and then stamped the #60 in Orange Fizz ink and then arranged the letters to say "SHARP" and stamped it in Hot Fudge ink.

The lines on the T-shirt are from Lollipop Additions -Love, and I stamped them along the bottom and sleeves of the shirt.

My paper is from Studio Calico - Here + There 6x6 paper pad and I chose to sew around the edges of my panels - the same as Karen - yes I am a copy cat at times.....

I added brads in the corners but still thought that it looked kind of drab.....so I swiped around the edges with white paint!

For the inside of the card I die-cut the Die-namics Party Banner from more Here + There designer paper.

The sentiment was stamped with Orange Fizz and Hot Fudge ink using the Clearly Sentimental Birthday Sentiments.

I used the smallest little sentiment to stamp along the top of the banner.

Thanks for coming around today - I'm off to play!

Polished to Perfection!

Good HOT morning!  From Millan.Net

It is the season of Graduations and Promotions (and golf tournaments ...woot!) and to celebrate the occasion I have made a Promotion Card using My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 129!

Using a la modes Polished to Perfection, I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her up with my copic markers.

Do you see the shine on the bottle of nail polish??!!  It is the NEW MIX-ables Sheer Sparkle Glitter Glaze - it gives a gorgeous shine - and it applies just like a bottle of nail polish - so of course I had to use it!

For the inside of the card, I chose to use the sentiment from WTG Gets Down to Business - it goes along great with the theme I am promoting :)

Have a great day!!

You're a Lifesaver!

Hi everyone - beautiful day today!

A few days ago we had an "incident" at our business and we had to call 911. This card is for the rescue workers, firemen and especially the one volunteer firefighter who just happened to hear the call on his way home from work.

He whipped into our laneway to see if he could help, and my husband was never so glad to see anyone in his whole life!

I used this week's MFT Sketch for my card - and I am just on the time line to get it in - so this will be short!

I used the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Firefighter Boy - it was the perfect choice!  The sentiment is from MFT Pure Innocence Firefighter Girl.........

My paper is from Studio Calico and is called Here & There - I bought it at Scrapping Great Deals -  my favorite "do-drop-in" AND on-line scrapbooking store!!

Thanks for coming around and thank you Mr. Firefighter!!

Sweet Stamps Tuesday - Dad!

Well, apparently Blogger threw me for a loop this week - my SweetStamps post didn't come alive at midnight as it should have, AND when I checked it to see - it was gone, disappeared, vamoosh!!  The joys of technology!

This week we are celebrating all things "Dad"!

I used the sweet stamp Lyle - such a grumpy looking man - but then with a bee on your nose AND carrying a box of glass - I might be grumpy too lol

I tried to cheer him up by making a little bag with a gift card from Tim Horton's - the Canadian version of Dunkin' Donuts - a delicious coffee and donut shop!

I love the SweetCuts Die called Elegant Leaves - I decided to decorate my little bag with it, plus the tree on the card!

Won't you join us for our challenge this week? Just link us up and you are in - wahoo!!
