Hasta la vista, BAY-BY!!

This silly sketch from today's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers near drove me around the bend!!

Anyway, here it is in all of it's tropical glory......The whole card uses
Basic Grey Stella Ruby paper except for the base which is Papertrey Ink Lemon Tart.

The main image and the palm trees on the side are from Kim Hughes stamp set "
Paradise Found".

I stamped them in Colorbox dark brown, a luscious dark ink that goes on so luscious (did I already say that?) and true - whatever that means....it's great ink!!

I stamped the palm trees on different coloured paper of the Stella Ruby and then took my 1" square punch and punched out three pieces, all of them a different look, KWIM?

I glued the little squares onto inchies to keep them sturdy and then sponged and sanded the edges - in that order!!

The plane is also stamped on Stella Ruby and then I took a little curl from Kim Hughes set "Bold Curls" and stamped it behind the plane to look like a puff of smoke coming from the plane!

The main image seemed to get lost in all the colour and Prima flowers, so I traced around it with a grey copic marker.

I still wanted to do something more so I had some gold sparkler dots that I got at Ellen's store so I added them to the plane's "engines" and I liked it a lot better!

I guess that wasn't so bad, now that I look at it! All that dithering for naught!!!

  4. This is very nice, just wondering what is the size of the card??? And how big are your cards typically? I met with an SU person the other day and was surprised that her cards are the size of an invatation. Is that typical???

  6. This card is gorgeous! Love the airplane and the pp is so rich! But uh, I'd be nervous if a puff of smoke was coming out of my plane...just saying
