Waltzingmouse Stamps Preview - Day Four!

Well, we have reached our last day of previews of Waltzingmouse Stamps and then tomorrow is our Design Team Release Blog Waltz (Waltzingmouse's version of a Blog Hop!) when Claire will be showing you all eight of the stamp sets in their entirety and let me tell you they are magnificent!

We have all been working very hard on these beautiful sets and I hope you have liked what you have seen!  Take a look at this post here to find out how you may be able to win all eight stamp sets! wahoo!

For my final card for our previews I am again using the Picnic Patterns and Very Vintage Labels 10 - can't get enough of those two!

The sentiment is from another new set called Fancy Phrases and although they are all designed to fit inside the Spellbinders Fancy Tags dies, I chose to use the Very Vintage Labels 10.

I did adhere one of the Fancy Tags die cuts behind the Labels 10, to make it kind of fancy!

Thanks for popping around and please take a look at Lisa, Jennifer, Anya, Laurie, and Julia's blogs as they are previewing today also! Don't forget to leave them a little love!

Waltzingmouse Stamps Preview - Day Two

Oh yes....good morning and welcome to MY turn (lol!) to preview Waltzingmouse Stamps new sets today!

Actually I think all of us are previewing today so you are in for quite a treat!

Today I am giving you a preview of three sets that are being released on May 1st - Picnic Patterns, Words of Wisdom, and Very Vintage Labels 10 - to match the Spellbinders Dies - whoop whoop!!

I love the look of Hawaiian Shores on kraft cardstock and so I took this wonderful opportunity to make up a card with just those colours!

The bottom of the front panel is stamped with one of the backgrounds from Picnic Patterns - such a fun set - as are all the background sets.

I stamped the Very Vintage Labels 10 stamp, cut it out with the Spellbinders Labels Ten die - perfect match! and then stamped the sentiment from Words of Wisdom in Hawaiian Shores - absolutely love it!

I distressed around the edges with my Heidi Swapp edge distresser but your fingernail would work just as well.

To tell you the truth, I was looking for a piece of twine that I had just cut, and I found the edge distresser under a bunch of scrap cardstock just about the time I was wondering whether to distress the card with my already broken fingernail or not - I decided that must definitely be a sign that I should distress... lol! Never did find the twine.....

Take a run around to look at Julia, Belinda, Anya, Laurie, Jennifer, and Lynn's designs - you are in for a wonderful time!! Oh dear, and don't forget about Claire - and give her a {hug} because she is not feeling the greatest.....

Stamps: Picnic Patterns, Words of Wisdom, Very Vintage Labels 10 (Waltzingmouse Stamps) Cardstock: Kraft (Papertrey Ink) Ink: Hawaiian Shores (Papertrey Ink), Vintage Photo (Ranger) Accessories: Spellbinders labels Ten Nestabilities, twine, Hawaiian Shores button and ribbon (Papertrey Ink), edge distressor (Heidi Swapp)

Thinking of You in Circles......

Good Saturday morning to you!

Moxie Fab has another fun Tuesday Trigger this week - these fab serviettes!! - I'm a sucker for serviettes - I have tons of them in my linen closet just waiting to be used!! lol!

I wanted to use Papertrey Ink's  Daily Sentiments stamp set and so I inked it up with Ranger's Distress inks Dusty Concord and Tattered Rose along with Papertrey Ink's New Leaf ink.

The circles were large enough that I could stamp Around and About Sentiments "thinking of you" circle sentiment in the middle and then the little flower inside of that!

I added a bit of Zva bling in the center of every flower - because what is a card without a bit of bling??!!

Thanks Moxie Fab!

Stamps: Around and About Sentiments, Daily Designs (Papertrey Ink) Cardstock: white, Plum Pudding (Papertrey Ink) Ink: Dusty Concord, Tattered Rose (Ranger) New Leaf (Papertrey Ink); Accessories: Zva Creative Crystals

Mom tags.....

Good Friday morning! Wow - so sorry I haven't been around lately but that thing called life seems to be happening lol! We have had the grandchildren for the last couple of days - babysitting and just having fun - how do you do any crafting with a 3 year old and a one year old - it just doesn't happen lol!

I did have time to make up a couple of tags this week in between naps (mine not theirs lol!)

Using Waltzingmouse Stamps Victoriana digi paper and my Sizzix Tag die I cut out the shapes and inked them up with the tea dye duo.

The sentiments on both tags are from Waltzingmouse Stamps Roses in Bloom set - love that font!

I added Zva Pearls flourishes on both tags also -Don't be afraid to cut them up to your liking - they are your flourishes and after all - you can use them any way you wish!

On these tags I cut the flourishes apart and laid the various shapes under the flowers to get them to look the way I wanted!

Thanks for coming around and be sure to stay tuned for Waltzingmouse Stamps next release! - The previews start on April 27th wahoo!!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps Roses in Bloom

Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz!!

If you are looking for the Little Paper Shop Blog Hop please click here!! Thank you!

Good day and welcome to Waltzingmouse Stamps April Blog Waltz!

Now, if you are new to Waltzingmouse Stamps, here's how to follow our Waltz - pop on over to the WMS Forum here and register if you haven't already, it takes just a sec and we don't ask any awkward questions, lol.

Go to the 'Play Room' and you will see the Blog Waltzes posts, if you are participating in the waltz, you will want to add a direct link to your blog post in the thread called April 17th Blog Waltz, Link list and if you are just popping in and soaking up the inspiration, you will really want to follow that link to see what we have all made.... it is super easy to follow the waltz from there!
The theme this month is Mother's Day - one of the most wonderful days of the year (since I am a wife and mother I can say that lol!)

I have a project for you made by a wife and mother (me) for a garage/bake sale organized and put on by her husband and daughter - BUT as always the wife and mother (me) stepped in and needed to provide cookies!

So this is what the wife and mother has been up to instead of making my Mother's Day project!!

Using an envelope and this tutorial, I made 12 of these pretty treat bags or "bag-a-lopes" and added cookies to them.

I went with a black and white colour scheme since I think it always looks very elegant!!

Using the grid background stamp from "Off Beat Backgrounds", I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the bottom of the bag. Then the Very Vintage Labels No. 4  stamp set was stamped in Fresh Snow ink onto black cardstock and cut out with the Spellbinders Labels Four nestabilities.

I think stamped the word "cookies" from the Little Box Labels stamp set - and it was cut out with the Petite Oval Nestabilties and adhered it to the Very Vintage Labels No. 4 die cut.

I punched the top of the bag with the Martha Stewart Floral Vine Deep Edger punch - isn't it pretty?!!

All together I think it looks just lovely!!

Introducing.... Behind the Scenes.....

ETA: So sorry about the screwiness of this post.....Blogger is being nasty to me today! ugh.

More details on that challenge as we draw closer to Release Day.

Little Paper Shop Monday!

Good Monday morning and welcome to Little Paper Shop Monday!!

We have a fun challenge for you this week and that is to make something 3-D! Your prize could be a digital image of Ice Cream Tyson!!- Check out all the details on the Little Paper shop blog.

I actually groan when I think of making a 3-D item, but luckily I had just downloaded Lauren Meader's Pick of the Petals container, and I really wanted to try out my Cricut cutter with the .svg files and thank goodness it worked like a charm!!

I used the Little Paper Shop stamp set called Christmas Tags- weird to use it in the spring, I know - but the tag fits into the oval nestabilities so well!

The "Cookies" sentiment is from the same set and the sentiment actually says "Cookies for Santa" but I taped over the "for Santa" part, inked up the stamp and then removed the tape so that only the word "Cookies" had ink on it. Then I stamped it into the middle of the oval! Perfect!

Check out what the other girls did for their 3-D challenge!

10 Apr 2010

Wishing You.....

I dug out my Verve set "Wishing You" again because I LOVE this font - can't seem to get enough of it! and so I have made a cheery get well card - the inside says "a very Speedy Recovery".

I think I have to decide who to send it to though.... we have so many friends or relatives ailing lately - colds and sniffles and more serious troubles - blech.....

I framed the sentiment with Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage Labels No.4 - The frame was stamped in yellow and then the sentiment a bright red to match the gorgeous Cosmo Cricket Material Girl designer paper - yummy!

I used Mercy Kerin's MTSC68 sketch - it really fit perfectly for this card - the outline of every designer paper panel was sponged with ink to pull it all together......hope you like it!

I am off to enjoy the sunshine today - hubby is in Toledo at a remote control airplane show this weekend so I have the place to myself! I LOVE that - for awhile anyway!

Need a Couch Day?

Good morning and where did the warm weather go to? Yikes - a little chilly here but I think we were quite spoiled last week - I mean it is only April! lol!

Moxie Fab World had a cute little sketch that I thought I would try out.

I used my Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety chipboard to show the harried mother chicken running along with her brood of chickies chasing after her. "Need a couch day?" I thought the sentiment was very fitting lol!

I remember those crazy days and a Couch Day seemed so luscious and so far away, and it really was far away- about 12 years!!  The couch days are finally here and now I am babysitting my grandchildren because I miss the harried life - yeah right? lol!

Have a great day!

Stamps: On my Couch, On My Couch Additions (Paperatrey Ink)
Cardstock: Lemon Tart, Stampers Select White, Spring Moss (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Bitty Box Squares (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Aqua (Gina K Designs); Rich Cocoa (Memento), Vintage Touch Inking System (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Garden Variety Chipboard (Cosmos Cricket); my funky sewing machine, Cuttlebug distressed stripes folder, Fiskars Apron Lace punch

Colour Challenge....

Good morning - what a rainy day it is.....perfect for a little stamping!

I've been working on projects for various celebrations so be prepared for some awesome new line-ups from Little Paper Shop and Waltzingmouse Stamps in the weeks to come!

I participated in the Splitcoaststampers Colour Challenge on Tuesday and am now posting it while I have a minute - before running off to library hour with my grandkids - my daughter is the librarian so I am priviledge to be the "mom" today.... Love it!

The colours were Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede. I had to substitute Papertrey Ink's Spring Moss and Hawaiian Shores and Memento Rich Cocoa.

I used Waltzingmouse Stamps Roses in Bloom and chose not to colour the rose or leaves and just leave it - not so bad.

The sentiment "Mom" is a separate stamp and both are from Roses in Bloom.  The polka dots are from Off Beat Backgrounds - love it!

Thanks for coming around today - off to the library!

Little Paper Shop Mermaid!

Good morning and welcome to Little Paper Shop Monday!

We have got three guest designers for the next few months and boy will you love them! We have Kelly Booth, Julie Elak and Tasha Beasley! Check out their blogs - they may have a post ready for today!

We have a fun sketch for you to work at this week and you may win this little mermaid digital stamp that I have used today! Check out all the info on the Little Paper Shop blog!

Oh my goodness - isn't she a sweetie! I coloured her with copics making sure that she was totally dry by using my heat gun first. I still had a bit of blurring but I may not have hit that part with the heat gun and depending on your printer ink , it may not happen to you at all!

I layered my SEI Dill Blossom designer paper (an oldie but I still love it!) onto Kraft cardstock and inked all my cardstock edges with white ink so it would stand out.

Check out the rest of the design team's blogs to see how they interpreted the sketch today!!and don't forget about our guest designers!!

4 Apr 2010

Easter Greetings....

Good Sunday morning and Happy Easter to you and your family!

We had a wonderful family time (and eats!) at my mom's last night and saw family that we hadn't seen for years -a wonderful surprise for sure!

I thought I would finally use the Nestie Eggs set from Waltzingmouse Stamps with my Spellbinders Nested Eggs dies to decorate a small box that I made.

I used my Sizzix Bigz XL Die #3 for the box - terribly easy to put together and then I punched the edge of the flap with the Martha Stewart eyelet edge punch for a sweet finish.

I stamped the egg three different times in three different inks and cut out each one with my Spellbinders Nested Eggs die. I cut two of the eggs apart and then pieced them together on the remaining egg to make the different colours.

I stamped the sentiment in the middle and then attached it to the beautiful silk ribbon (from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply store).

I attached a small doily under the ribbon to make it pretty and then attached an Aqua Mist button with a Jenni Bowlin pearl embellishment on top.

We are off to Ron's family Easter today - I have made scalloped potatoes plus a hash brown casserole plus couscous salad plus a rice salad for the vegan's in the family - it's so hard to keep up nowadays LOL!!

3 Apr 2010

Happy Spring!

Good morning! What a beautiful sunny day it is here in Southern Ontario - loving it!

This card uses Mercy Kerin's sketch for this week - I just received my Papertrey Ink new colour and stamps and I could just picture these images in this sketch!

I used Papertrey Ink's new stamp set Springtime Doodles , along with the new Hawaiian Shores cardstock and Green Boutique patterned paper.

I coloured up the butterflies with my copics and popped one up in the corner to follow the sketch.

ETA: I think I will use this for today's inspiration challenge too - here is my inspiration - I was only inspired by the colours - this was not my favorite hat site for sure - kind of weird for my taste! lol!

Have a great day - We are going to my mom's for Easter supper today and then to Ron's family's tomorrow for more Easter eats!! Lucky us!
