Woo Hoo!! I am Back.....

Yes I am here finally!! My computer is fixed and I am up and running once more!

I think it is just TERRIBLE how dependant we (meaning me, haha!) are on these dang computers.....

That being said, while this silly PC was in getting fixed, upgraded, virus-freed -whatever -I had them install my Adobe Photoshop. I had bought it in the summertime over the internet and was unable to download it because we are on dial-up (yes, I am still in the last century). It would say something like 42 hours 23 minutes left to download.... I mean, come on....then it would time out and disconnect so I was not able to load it onto my computer. Geeeeezzzz....

Anyway, it is now installed, so hopefully I can figure it out and have some FANTAAAABULOUS pictures!!

Well, my daughter finally graduated from university!! YIPPEE! We are very proud of her.....she finished it even though she had some barriers. She is married, has a one year old baby crawling around, her hubby travels ALOT, manages her home and still she was able to study, write exams and pass her exams to earn her degree! YAY FOR MARCIE!!
So I made her this graduation card, with none other than you-know-who ----> Diplomabella! from Stamping Bella. I had to buy her on the sly, so Marcie wouldn't find out. Whew, it is hard keeping secrets from someone who makes cards and scrapbooks with you.
I stamped Diplomabella and coloured her with my prismacolors that I bought from Paper Pretties. Then I blended her with gamsol (a mineral spirit) and a stump or stomp or whatever it is you call them.
There are a few great tutorials that I looked up and each one offers their personal way to color with prismacolors and spirits. "A Lifetime of Color-Debbie Gimbel", and Gina K. Designs has a great video (I had to watch it at the library since we only have dial-up and those videos take awhile to download).
Flashback to last Saturday night - ma and pa walking to town to go to the library so we could use their internet system....... (true story).....like I said-- last century...
Back to Dimplomabella....I used my oval nestabilities to cut and emboss her - I got them from Scrapping Great Deals - they are a great deal too -I ought all four circle dies (large circle, small circle, large scalloped circle, small scalloped circle) I think close to 26 dies ( I don't want to go and count them right NOW!) for $75!! and if you buy over $100 worth - FREE SHIPPING!! what a deal!!
I keep getting off track--but I haven't been on here for so long and I have so much to show and tell you!!
Well, I traced around the scallops with my 14karat gold pen - (I mean, Marcie deserves that at least) and popped it on my card. The background is red and black cardstock that was embossed with the Cuttlebug in the script embossing folder. Then I trimmed it with gold rick-rack -whew...that is a word from the past -- lol!!
I took a Heidi Swapp ghost arrow and traced around it with 14karat gold also and attached it with clear glue dots.
I loved making this card and I had to practically wrestle it back from Marcie so I could show it to you!! But I won!!
LUCKY ME!!

I really like how you used the gold-leaf pen/marker/thingy. I have one and have been reluctant to use it for lack of ideas, but now I have a few thanks to you! What a beeee-autiful card!
