A Sketch Challenge...and a GoodBye...

Happy Monday everyone! Is that an oxymoron?  - I think so.....lol (yes I am using my smilies!)
Smiley from millan.net

This is a long post and I apologize but I have a ton of things to share today!

First of all, this is my last Little Paper Shop post as a designer, so I wanted to use the {I Heart} stamp set and this sentiment - "Home is Where the Heart Is". Two years ago Julia took a chance with me and I began my journey as a stamper with a home - Little Paper Shop.

Everyone is so fun to get along with and so very supportive in everyway. It breaks my heart to leave, but I chose not to renew my contract this year and have decided to try my hand elsewhere.  As my daughter says....."Out of my Comfort Zone and into my Courage Zone"!

Thank you Julia and all the girls _ I will miss you!

Smiley from millan.net

Now onto business......Our sketch is a fun one and if you want to play along and win  a digi stamp, make a card from our sketch! Check out all the info on our blog - Little Paper Shop blog!

Here is my take on the sketch!

and see my fun new ribbon - it's that wonderful seam binding that everyone has been using! I followed a tutorial on the Embellish Magazine - Ashley used silk ribbon - but I happened to have the seam binding so I used it. --and I ironed my "ribbon" because I am not too crazy about the real wrinkled look - call me old fashioned!

Smiley from millan.net

I used K & Company designer paper along with Zva and Prima flowers also!

Thanks for coming around today and come back tomorrow when the Waltzingmouse Design Team will have their monthly Designer Blog Waltz - usually reserved for new releases but we were all too tired out from alllll the new stamp sets last month (just kidding...) Smiley from millan.net

We will be focusing on the original Waltzingmouse Stamp sets, there will be the usual prizes - and that will be a treat! (hint)

and just one more thing!!

-Have you heard about DRS Designs Stamp A Day Give Away that is scheduled for June?

Just like the name of the game says, DRS Designs is giving away one free stamp everyday for the entire month of June! You can find all of the details you need to play HERE and we hope that you'll join us on the DRS Designs Blog starting tomorrow, June 1st!!!

Thank you sweet Kettos!

I am working on some projects for this week and next so today I am going to show you a little snizzle project I put together when I was a member of the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen waaaay back when!

The theme was Winged Things, and so I assembled this little notecard set featuring the Ketto's from Stamping Bella!!

LOVE these little flying Ketto's!! Note cards are pretty easy when you have these sweet images to use!

I just stamped four different Ketto's onto white cardstock and then chose to colour them monochromatically using the light blue theme on every card!

The Thank You sentiment is from Little Paper Shop's Little Cuties - love that font!

The Spellbinders Labels Three make a perfect border for circles when you want something just a little different!

I'll have something NEW for you tomorrow!! wow she finally did it.

Stamps:  Stamping Bella, Little Paper Shop  Paper:  Papertrey Ink Stampers Select White and Spring Rain, K & Company Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics  Accessories:  Martha Stewart Lattice Punch, Spellbinders Labels Three Dies

Good Luck!

Just a Good Luck card, or a graduation card - something along that effect for you today!

I have to say that this layout is from a beautiful Becky Oehlers card in the magazine (oh my what a magazine!) A Card a Day -

I may change the title and I will let you know the page it is on, but right now I am upstairs, it is late and I am tired.....and maybe a bit grumpy - Smiley from millan.net can you tell?

I used alot of backgrounders in this card - they are soooo versatile and useful!
Smiley from millan.net

I stamped various backgrounders onto Dark Chocolate cardstock using Fresh Snow Ink. Then I cut them out in a circle shape and sponged Fresh Snow ink around the edges of the circles.

I used the Interlocking Star backgrounder from DRS Designs, the woodgrain backgrounder from WPlus9 Designs and one of the backgrounders from Waltzingmouse Stamps Pic-Nic Patterns and OffBeat Backgrounds.

I coloured in a few of the stars in the Interlocking Star Backgrounder with my white gel pen and then added gems to the stars to pretty it up! I also added more gems beside the sentiment which is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Fancy Phrases!

Then I added some Dark Chocolate satin ribbon which just seemed to pull it all together!!

Thanks for coming around - I am heading to bed and hopefully better humour tomorrow!!!

A Rose in Life's Garden

Good morning and welcome to another beautiful sunny day in Southwestern Ontario! We have been blessed with beautiful weather the last couple of days......let's hope it lasts lol!

I have a Waltzingmouse Stamps card for you today - a very Clean and Simple card - I saw a new challenge from Cupcake Craft Challenges which was to use Black and Grey and a colour of your choice for your creation.......of course I misread it and thought it said Black and White and a colour of your choice....I think I will enter it anyway....(snicker)

I used Roses in Bloom and stamped the large rose, small rose and leaf on my cardstock by masking the large rose and stamping the rest.....love the look!  The sentiment is also from Roses in Bloom!

I mounted it on Prism Black cardstock and then onto Hawaiian Shores cardstock as my base....can NOT get enough of that colour!

I added a small floral Hawaiian Shores button along with two gems that I coloured with copics - can't get much easier than that!!

Thanks for coming around and saying hello! It's so lovely when you do!

Stamps: Roses in Bloom (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
Cardstock: Black (Prism), Stampers Select White, Hawaiian Shores (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Accessories: Button (Papertrey Ink), Crystals (Zva Creative Crystals)

Count Your Blessings!

Good morning and welcome to another Little Paper Shop Challenge!

This week we have a colour challenge which is Kraft, Pink and Blue - LOVE it! If you choose to participate you could win the Jena Horse Digi! Check out Little Paper Shop blog for further details!

I used the latest sketch challenge from The Sweetest Thing for my card. ETA: Okay, it also goes along with Stars and Stamps sketch challenge and Card Positioning Systems sketch challenge and Unscripted Sketch Challenge!! - I'm putting it in all of them - not sure how "legal" that is but.....oh well....lol!

I stamped the writing background from {Behind the Scenes} onto the Kraft cardstock and mounted that onto white cardstock for a very thin border, then popped up the whole thing onto Spring Rain cardstock for my card base.

Then I added a gorgeous white Zva pearl flourish, pink and white flowers from Stamping UP's die set and my sentiment which is from {Blessings}.

Thanks for coming around and I hope you try it out!

Color Cue {4} Challenge

Good morning! Long time no blog.......yeh I know......I'm a loser lately when it comes to blogging lol! I am sure I will be straightening around soon - when these meds kick in I will be a new person yay!!

Okay enough whining.....onto the post.....

I recently received some new stamps from Wplus9 Design Studio - a lovely couple of sets called "Woodgrain Silhouettes" and Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions" - beautiful photo-polymer stamps manufactured in the United States.

And wouldn't you know it, their blog was featuring a colour challenge and so I went for it using my new stamps!

The colours were white, navy, light blue and light yellow and here is what I came up with!

Pretty self explanatory I think, but a couple of things you should know about the butterfly. It is stamped with Versamark onto Lemon Yellow cardstock, embossed with white embossing powder, cut out and popped up onto the card!

Enough babbling, I'll let you get back to your work! Thanks for coming around!

Stamps: Woodgrain Silhouettes and Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions (W9Plus Design Studio)
Cardstock: Enchanted Evening, Lemon Tart, Spring Rain, white (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Enchanted Evening, Spring Rain (Papertrey Ink)

Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz

Please scroll down for my Little Paper Shop scrapbook page challenge post - Thank you!

Good day and welcome to Waltzingmouse Stamps May Blog Waltz!

Now, if you are new to Waltzingmouse Stamps, here's how to follow our Waltz - pop on over to the WMS Forum here and register if you haven't already, it takes just a sec and we don't ask any awkward questions, lol.

Go to the 'Play Room' and you will see the Blog Waltzes posts, if you are participating in the waltz, you will want to add a direct link to your blog post in the thread called May 17th Blog Waltz, Link list and if you are just popping in and soaking up the inspiration, you will really want to follow that link to see what we have all made.... it is super easy to follow the waltz from there!

The theme this month is Birthday's - everybody has one and we could all use a little inspiration when it comes to celebrations!

I used the Nice Cup of Tea template and stamped it with Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums all around the outside of the cup and on the saucer. I trimmed the cup and saucer using my gold leaf pen -

I swear I have a tea cup and saucer almost identical to this only it has Roses instead of Chrysanthemums and it is called Royal Albert American Beauty!

For my card I used this weeks sketch from Jen del Muro's Sketch For You to Try.

I stamped the big plaid from Pic-Nic Patterns and then I layered on Very Vintage Labels No. 10 and Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums. I finished it with ribbon and the Happy Birthday sentiment from Say it With Style!

Thanks for coming around!!

Just Because

I was looking after our grandchildren, Jake and Robin yesterday, (I really was!!) and found I had time to search through my daughter Marcie's goodies (ooooo she has so much good stuff!) and make a card!

I used Papertrey Ink's Round and Round set - the 3rd year anniversary set which you have to earn - did I tell you between my daughter and I we got 5 sets??!! Yes, we have a problem and we realize it and we are going to do nothing about it....so don't worry....

I used a sketch from Papercraft's new sketch magazine and October Afternoon paper - Fly A Kite - and came up with this beauty! - is that okay to say?

I wish I had the die for this set - I will probably take care of that in this release lol!

Anyway, sorry about the short post, but the Marcie is bringing Robin over for coffee this morning-yay!

Thinking of You....

Hello and welcome to another rainy day in Southwestern Ontario, Canada! Oh my it has rained alot but the good thing is, when it warms up - the flowers will be blooming like crazy!!

I made this card for Mercy Kerin's sketch this week. There is a very special announcement on her blog this week - so skip on over and see what you can do!!

Using October Afternoon designer paper - "Fly a Kite" and Waltzingmouse Stamps "Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums"  and "Fancy Phrases" I followed the sketch and put this beauty together. It could almost be a Christmas card I think from the colours!

That gorgeous 1/2" satin ribbon is from Renaissance by Design - a 10 yard roll for $7.00!! I love a great deal!

And if you haven't noticed, on my sidebar is the badge for the next Waltzingmouse Stamps customer blog hop!

It will be May 17th (the same date every month!) and this months' theme is "Birthday"!  So if you have some WMS stamps, get your crafty little hands creating some thing wonderful!!

I am going up to the library for story hour to look after the kids since their mother is the librarian - I know she is a mother but she can't do everything!

{Father} and a challenge....

It's time for Little Paper Shop's new release blog hog and if you are coming to my blog from Tasha's blog you are on the right track!

If you are jut popping in to say hi - thank you for stopping by!! If you would like to join in our hop (and why wouldn't you?!) you should start at the beginning at the Little Paper Shop blog because you don't miss a sweet thing along the way!

Our new stamp set that we are showcasing today is called {Father} - a sweet stamp set full of masculine sentiments for the man in your life!

I used October Afternoon paper called Fly a Kite for my card today and the BIG Grandpa sentiment - I made a sort of medal because all Grandpa's are #1 winners don't you think?

My second card is for the colour challenge that Little Paper Shop has on today -you are all invited to play along- these are the colours we are using this week

and here is my card

I used one of the stamps from Little Paper Shop's backgrounder stamp set {Behind the Scenes} and stamped it in Spring Moss ink. Then I used various patterned papers to make up the rest of the base of the card.

The butterfly was made by stamping the star from {Little One} on white cardstock and then using my Sizzix butterfly die to cut out the shape.

I tried to do the ruffly ribbon thing -  kind of easy - kind of not.....I'm all thumbs when it comes to things like that lol!

Anyway, thanks for coming around and your next stop is the wonderful Allison!!

{Beach Jena}

Good morning and welcome to another preview of Little Paper Shop's May stamp releases!

Today we are showcasing {Beach Jena} - perfect for all of your summer cards and vacation layouts!

I used my new Sassafrass Nerdy Bird papers to make a little "dock" scene. I remember my friend JoAnne and I (years ago) going out to the cottage they used to rent in Long Point, Ontario. We would play in the sand for hours and hours and then wash off in the lake before lunch and supper. I also remembering almost drowning in the undertow out there - but that is another story!

I stamped and coloured the little girl image twice so that I could have two little girls with different coloured bathing suits, dipping their feet in the water.

I used my Fiskars wave punch for the water and I bought some funky new buttons from Kim Brouilette on Etsy (sorry I can't find her shop now... dang it..) The ribbon is from Renaissance by Design - great ribbon!

Thanks for coming around today and tomorrow is another great release preview so come on back!!

{Bumble Bee Jena}

It's time for Little Paper Shop's new release previews! There is a prize being offered each day of our previews so if you comment on every person's blog each day you will have a chance to win a gift certificate in the amount of a small stamp set from Little Paper Shop

On Monday we will have a New Release Blog Hop and you could win a gift certificate in the amount of a large stamp set from Little Paper Shop! How great huh??!!

Our first new stamp set we are previewing is called {Bumblebee Jena} - a sweet little girlie with wings - love her cuteness!

I used Basic Grey Origins 6 x 6 paper pad for my patterned papers. The sweet image was stamped coloured, paper pieced, cut out and adhered to a Big Scalloped Oval nestabilities that had been sponged with a combination of Ranger Vintage Photo ink and Papertrey Ink Ripe Avocado ink.

I tied it up with Ripe Avocado ribbon and can you see the sparkly wings?? I used my Sakura gelly roll sparkle pen for all that glittery goodness!!

Please take a few moments to pop around to the rest of the design team's blogs to see how they portray {Bumblebee Jena}!!

Crazy Days.....

Oh my Crazy Days - that is what we have had this week - we've been spending time driving all around Southwestern Ontario looking for a new car for me - I had leased my last car (I don't recommend that..) and now that I have to give it back next week, I won't have anything to drive. I should have given that situation a little more thought ...just sayin'..... lol!...

So I finally bought a brand new car and now I can lay back and relax and realize how broke I am ......wouldn't these chairs be wonderful to relax in??! (come on.....points for creating a segway....lol!)

This is for Moxie Fab's Three Cheers for Chairs Challenge which is up and running until the 7th!

Of course this stamp set is from  Papertrey Ink's On My Couch Additions. Using the chair die I cut out three shapes from the Pure Poppy cardstock and then three more out of white cardstock.

On the white cardstock I stamped the chair image with Hawaiian Shores ink (I can't help it, I have fallen desperately in love with this colour....) and then I popped it up onto the Pure Poppy cardstock.

I know you are probably wondering- what was the point in die cutting the Pure Poppy cardstock? -*sigh* I really was going in a completely different direction at first (tell me you have been there?!! lol!) but it just wasn't coming together....

The little kitty, the mat and the sentiment are all from the same set - On My Couch Additions.....

Thank you so much for coming around and listening to me moan about my few days.....I feel better!

Thinking of you in Gold....

When Claire first showed us this set called Asian Gardens, the first thing I thought of was gold.

But I couldn't put my finger on my idea, until I remembered the little silk jammies that my step-dad brought home for our children when he visited China years ago. They were bright turquoise with gold and brown on them - absolutely beautiful silk and they loved to wear them!

I stamped the leaves of the tree in Versamark first (maybe backwards to some I know lol!) sprinkled gold embossing powder on and used my heat gun to bring out the beautiful gold!

Then I stamped the trunk of the tree in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink- The cardstock is Prism cardstock so there is a slight texture to the trunk-which I was fine with......

I outlined the panel with my Krylon Leafing Pen - very simple to use -

The base of my card is Hawaiian Shores cardstock and I stamped the background stamp that is included with this Asian Gardens stamp set in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.

Then I tied some gold ribbon that I got at Fabricland (dear goodness don't get me started on that gorgeous store!!) around the base of the card and voila!

Thank you for sticking with me through all of these previews - I had so many I'm still previewing lol!

Little Paper Shop Monday Challenge!

Good Monday Morning!! Yay! Believe it or not I LOVE Mondays!! Such a fresh new beginning to the week!

Today is another challenge from Little Paper Shop and today's challenge is a fun sketch from new mother Julia!!

I decided to use the stamp set {Rose} as my focal point and sentiment, along with my new Sassafras Cherry Delicious 6 x 6 paper pack!

Check out the Little Paper Shop blog for more info on how you may win a prize if you join our challenge this week!!

2 May 2010

Tea Time...

Oh what a week - lots of happy things went on with Waltzingmouse Stamps - their big Birthday Celebration was an instant success so thank you to everyone that visited all of our blogs that last few days and helped us to celebrate!!

If you didn't see the creations the design team made, you can still go over the last few posts of mine - they have links to all the other girls delicious projects - what a great week!

I am still "previewing" the sets for you! I made a few extra cards because these stamps are so lovely!

These images are from the new set "Afternoon Tea Sentiments" -  The pansies and leaves are all one image and the teacup is another image.

I stamped the pansies twice, coloured them up with my copics, cut two of them out and popped the flowers up on top of each other and then "plunked" (official term) them into the teacup!

I also added some gorgeous Frosted Lace Stickles to the pansies and the butterfly (from the Martha Stewart butterfly punch)

I paper pieced my tea cup with the beautiful Basic Grey Wisteria patterned paper and then used the leftover for the bottom of my card.

My ribbon is from Renaissance by Design, a beautiful shade of lavender blue called Thistle, that matches the Wisteria paper perfectly! This ribbon seems to me to be the same quality as Papertrey Ink ribbon and it comes in a 10 yd roll for $6.00!!  (I know - I am full of deals today!)

As always, thank you for coming around to my blog and please feel free to leave me a little love -lol!

Happy Birthday Waltzingmouse Stamps!

Oh yes!! Today is the Birthday of Waltzingmouse Stamps! I can't believe it was a year ago - wow how times flies when you are having fun! and when you get old lol!

A few of the particular's that you need to know - today we are having our Design Team Blog Waltz (our version of a Blog hop!) and you should have just waltzed over from Lisa's Blog but it you didn't that is fine too - just waltz your way around, comment on all of the design team's blog in order to be eligible to win a prize and start again at the first!! It is well worth it to see what we have created with these beautiful stamps!

Don't forget to comment on the Waltzingmouse Stamps blog also (Claire's blog), in order to have a second chance to win a prize - woot! woot!

On to the fun!!

We all received a new template from Claire - this gorgeous cake template! I was able to cut it out with my SOCAL and Cricut - pretty darn fast!

I used the gorgeous K & Company papers which are deliciously vintage, for my cake and card, along with Prism and Papertrey Ink cardstock.

The gorgeous flowers are different sizes of Prima hibiscus just layered on top of each other and then a Zva Creative rose added to the very top!

My ribbon is gorgeous lace and ruffles and then the whole card and cake was sprayed with Tattered Angels Sugar Cookie mist - in real life it is so beautiful and sparkly - I love it!

Thanks for coming around and you can now waltz along to Belinda's Blog!!
