A Baby Shower!

Paper Makeup Stamps is having a surprise baby shower blog hop!!  SURPRISE LISA!!

Yes, our own Lisa McKinney is expecting her second child the beginning of August - which is pretty much right smartly isn't it?!

If you are coming here from Christi S.'s blog then you are on the right track (and almost done I might add!!)

If you have just popped in, why don't you start at the Paper Makeup Blog, so that you can see all the baby cards we have going on!

I don't have very many baby stamps yet from Paper Makeup Stamps, so I had to improvise and make a card with just a sentiment, using Cutie Critter Sayings, and I decided that this sentiment applies to babies too!!

I made up a little quilted card using October Afternoon paper - because nothing says babies like a quilt! and then added the sentiment, added a button and presto-- baby-o!!

Now you are off to see what the amazing Anita has put together for Lisa!!

M4TW Challenge!

Today is Paper Makeup Stamps M4TW challenge! That means it's our Makeup for the Weekend challenge!

This week we were challenged to make a set of cards!

I love having cards at the get go, but since I was packing for CHA (I know, enough already....) Smiley from millan.net I only had to time to put together two cards - but I still love them because I love this set of stamps called A Cut Above!

I used my Cosmo Cricket Delovely paper because I erally love the colours in this pack - so fresh and pretty!

That's all for today - hope over to the Paper Makeup blog and join our challenge won't you??

Christmas in July sketch challenge!

Good day! Right now I am on my way to Chicago to the CHA Supershow (that's Craft and Hobby Association) yee haw!! so hopefully this is posting on time!

DRS Designs is hosting the last week of Tuesday Morning Sketches birthday month! This month you could use any sketch over the last year to follow to design your card AND since it has been so hot - you must use a Christmas theme!! What a cool off - yay! If you want to play.....follow this link - you could win some awesome stuff!!

I chose to go back to the first of their year and use the second sketch, TMS#2

and here is my card and as per usual I changed it up a bit..lol!

The snowman is Large Snowman Portrait, which I coloured up with copics.

I ran a piece of red cardstock through  my Candy Cane Cuttlebug folder and then swiped my white ink across the top to look like a striped scarf. I did the same with the card base so it would match.

I stamped the background snowflakes with the Interlocking Snow Background

Using my blue and yellow Marvy snowflake punches, I punched out one large snowflake and two small ones and attached them with glue dots and added buttons!

Okay, on to my project!

What about these new sets being released today---Midnight Feast and Wanda's Pantry - they are just divine!

I've made up some little candy jar samples - like I said in an earlier post - I am getting fat with all this candy - but oh how yummy!!

I have used chocolate covered gummi bears (which are now gone), grape shoestring licorice (which is now gone) and sour peach gummies (yum - gone)

Thanks for coming and now you need to move on to the fabulous Laurie who has something gorgeous to show you!!

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop!

Good afternoon and welcome to the Papertrey July Blog Hop! This month's theme is office supplies! Can you say - out of my comfort zone????

Anyway,  I decided that the closest I was going to get to office supplies on my card would be to use the Just the Ticket stamp set for this hop!

This was for my mom's 75th birthday - I think she thought it was pretty bright, and seeing it up here in my blog, I would have to agree lol! - but I do like these colours together!

I used a strip of Cosmo Cricket Delovely designer paper for the bottom, of course the Just the Ticket stamp set, Alli Miles Birthday Bash Sentiments and Heather Nichols Library card stamp.

The tickets were punched out with the Just the Ticket border die and the Library card stamp was stamped onto the Spiral Notebook page die - which is a little small for the stamp, but I made it work!

My cardstock is Gina K Designs Sweet Corn and Gina K Designs Vivid Dye Ink - called Straw!

Waltzingmouse Stamps Preview Day Two!

How did you like all the previews yesterday!  Weren't they spooky??!!

Today's previews are being shown by Claire,  Julia, Lynn, Anya, Mona, Jennifer, Belinda and I!

Okay, here is another one using Midnight Feast - oh, how I chuckle when I hear that name!

When I was in Stratford this week, seeing Evita (oh I know you are jealous- it was fabulous!!) there was this delicious shop called the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and I was able to find these chocolate dipped licorice - yummo - you know this month the candy alone is a factor in my weight gain......lol!

Anyway.....I thought they went perfectly with this label - "partially decomposed fingers" LOL!!

The bats and the moon are from last year's Halloween stamps called Hallowe'en Party. I jusst stamped them all over the belly band that I made.

You know that I love my ooey gooey punch so I took the opportunity to use it along with a gorgeous Zva Crystal flourish to finish it off. I attached some gorgeous burgundy ribbon with another Prima center gem in the middle!

Thanks for coming around and let me know what you think about my spooky belly band!!......

Waltzingmouse Stamps August (sort of) Preview Day One!

Oh, I'm so excited! I love preview time for another fantastic release at Waltzingmouse Stamps!

Two fabulous Hallowe'en stamp sets will be released on July 27th!!

Over the next three days, Claire and the design team will preview the new sets for you. A bit earlier than usual, as Claire is going away on a much deserved vacation, and she wants to get your orders out before she heads out....... but what fun to see everything early!!

The first thing I am showing you is a card and an altered item using both of the new sets- "Wanda's Pantry" and "Midnight Feast" - what fabulous names, don't you think??!!

The card is so simple really. I ran the white card base through an Impression plate so it would have some texture. Then I cut out the image with a Spellbinders Labels Die.

Using my favorite punch, the Drippy Goo edger punch, I added a black border and then for a bit more punch, I adhered a red Websters flower with a Prima black center crystals on the inside!

And look at our new witch Wanda!! Isn't she just the cutest thing ever??!!

I just used the Drippy Goo edger punch and the Picket Fence edger punch, to cover up the label of a Cranberry Cocktail bottle - easy as pie!

Please take a minute to visit the other designers who are showcasing the new sets today! and please welcome the fabulous Mona Pendleton as one of our new designers YAY!!! Mona!!

Silver Linings!

What a beautiful day it was for a balloon ride - but instead I went golfing with my son which was just as rewarding and also challenging to say the least!

I made this for a couple of challenges today. One is for Crafty Caro's challenge in the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges on Splitcoaststampers this week - sooo many fabulous challenges to enter and so much fun!!  Only if you are a fan club member can you see the challenges and play - if you are not a fan club member well why not?? It's alot of fun and you get so much inspiration and a lot of benefits! Check it out here!

This is also for Moxie Fab's Fun and Cute Challenge - there are four challenges over at Moxie Fab's this week and you have until August 2 to enter ETA: change that to the Classy & Elegant challenge......

I thought I would get my glitter out for the clouds, since the sentiment talks about a silver lining!

I stamped the Waltzingmouse Stamps backgrounder on the cardbase and then using the Papertrey Ink cloud dies, I cut out the clouds. Then I sponged around the negative space with Fresh Snow Ink. Using the glue pen I traced around the edge of the cloud and then sprinkled glitter on top - I love the look!

I stamped the balloons from the Up, Up and Away stamp set onto the die cut balloons and ended shading in one of them. The other two are solid images which are great too!

Thanks for coming around - off to clean my clubs after getting my clock cleaned lol!!

Wishing You.....

I made this card with the Embellish Ric Rac challenge colours in mind, but I soon realized that it would be eligible for the  Dare to Get Dirty challenges that are going on all week on Splitcoaststampers too!

Here are the colours of the Embellish challenge, with my card following using DRS Design stamps.

I used DRS Designs stamp Four Corner butterfly, but I only used one of the stamps for the grass. This stamp is actually one large stamp that I cut up to make four single stamps. BONUS!!

I received a new BIGZ Sizzix flower die in the mail, that I just love and you will probably be seeing it a lot more in the future!

The sentiment is "Wishing You" and one I use quite often for a general card and then I just do my own correspondence on the inside of my card - I seldom finish the inside .....eeks!! I know.....lol!

Stamps: DRS Designs
Paper: Hawaiian Shores, Orange Zest, Kraft and white Papertrey Ink
Ink: Dark Chocolate Papertrey Ink
Accessories: Sizzix flower die, PTi eyelet die and ric rac die, twine and button

July Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz! (for real)

So sorry this is late - blogger messed up again......

Good day and welcome to the July Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz!

On the 17th of every month, we celebrate with our friends, asking them to join us in featuring their works of art using Waltzingmouse Stamps. And, of course, there are prizes to be won! One of the blog waltz participants will be randomly chosen to receive a stamp set of choice, and one waltzer who correctly counts the number of watermarks in the Design Team and Claire's blog waltz posts will be randomly chosen to also receive a stamp set of choice! You'll find all the details on the Waltzingmouse Stamps blog.

The fun takes place in the Waltzingmouse House forum... you find the links to the Blog Waltz participants in the July 17 Blog Waltz Link List and a place to chat and enter the "watermark" contest in the June Blog Waltz Chat Thread.

The Blog Waltz theme this month is The Colours of Summer - blue and green!. Since I have a love affair with Hawaiian Shores right now I had to use it as my blue!

Of course the sketch I used is today's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!! Isn't that fun - we have so much going on here at Waltzingmouse Stamps!!

You can see that I used Afternoon Tea for my main image and then Afternoon Tea Additions for the sentiment, which is partly covered up by the watermark (oooops!!, I gave it away...lol!)

For the beautiful background, I used the Spellbinders Impressabilities Flowers - that Claire sells in the store - yay!!  All I did was ink up the Impressabilties with Versamagic ink (not sure of the colour, but it is very close to Hawaiian Shores, as you can see)

Then I placed my background cardstock on top - this was Neenah white as it is not as heavy a cardstock and I wasn't really sure if the heavier cardstock would work.

I ran it through my Cuttlebug in this order starting at the bottom - the A plate, B plate, Impressabilities with ink, cardstock, B plat.,  It came out beautifully!

The circles were punched with the yellow Marvy punch - I never know what the proper name is - so yellow it has become! I stamped the same Versamagic turquoise ink onto the circles usingone of the smaller circles from the Vintage Circle, Small stamp set.

Okay that is it!! Don't forget to count up the watermarks on all the designers and leave your answer in the forum!! hiss hiss......lol!

M4TW Challenge!

It's Friday woot woot!!! the weekend is almost here yay!!

Today is my oldest darling daughter's birthday - Happy Birthday Marcie - love you! and I even made a card for her (patting myself on the back...) but I can't show you until I give it to her because she reads my blog - silly girl!

Today is also M4TW challenge! That means (and yes, I had to ask because I didn't know) Makeup for the Weekend challenge with Paper Makeup Stamps!

This week your challenge is to use felt on your creation! Easy as pie or cake or buying a pie!! When you have something, link it up to the Paper Makeup blog post right here. What could be better for a weekend!!??

I used a new July release, little Felicity the Fawn for my challenge card today. She has a cute little flower attached to her on the stamp, but I snipped it off so that she could smell a felt flower...sinful but do-able...

I used Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg 6 x 6 paper pack and made little rolling hills for Felicity to wander through!

I found a Maya Road chipboard tree in my stash so I painted it up kind of funky-like and added a few leaves that I had pinched together so they would add some texture like stuff - awwww you know what I mean! lol!

The sentiment is from Cutie Critter sayings that is also part of our new July release.

Now if you want to play along in our challenge, you certainly don't have to use PMS stamps, but we'd LOVE to see them if you have them! Please remember to tag your photos with MWTW35 if you upload to any public gallery like Splitcoaststampers or Paper Craft Planet. Tag them with Paper Makeup Stamps too please!

Smile! and a sketch challenge!

Good Day!

Today I have a couple of little note cards I made using DRS Designs stamps....Since Wednesday night is golf night I thought these were rather appropriate! ;)

They are definitely honest cards and since I am always not where I should be on the golf course,  I added a Maya Road chipboard tree.

I also LOVE the sentiment that just seems to go with these golfer's perfectly! "Sending you a Smile" - I would never be that good at my direction LOL!

I am making these for Moxie Fabs Fun and Cute Challenge because I think they are definitely fun and really cute!!

I used the Male Golfer and Female Golfer for my card and also the sketch that DRS Designs is using for their sketch challenge this week!! That's right!!

DRS Designs has a sketch challenge on right now and you can win either a Beach or Golf design package of awesome stamps! Skip on over to the blog and find out all the information!

This Sketch challenge is so close to the Splitcoast sketch challenge today, that I am going to  put that in there too....slap my hands!! lol!

Beauty and Kick *!#

It's my day  to review one of the stamps from the newest releases at Paper Makeup Stamps!

I am reviewing the new set called "Kiss and Makeup" - isn't that a clever name??!! and in order to really make a statement I didn't colour - again!

I chose to use RED to be bold and only coloured the lipstick and highlighted the word "red"!

I do apologize for all the shadows - I took the photo outside in the sun because the day was calling to me - yep that's it!

Have a great day!

Stamps: "Kiss & Makeup - Paper Makeup Stamps Paper: Papertrey Ink Accessories: ribbon, cuttlebug swiss dot folder, corner rounder

Sorry......

My DRS Designs card today uses the....

.... Color Throwndown colours this week, and DRS Designs is one of the many sponsors of the Throwdown!

I also used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #77 this week - it was a little different and I was up for the challenge - believe it or not!

I stamped the Lily Sympathy Cross and semi-coloured it with my copics so that I could match the colours The background dots are from the Easy Dot Background - jut a cute little stamp with several dots on it....great for all sorts of backgrounds! The sentiment is another new stamp - Sorry for Loss greeting and is perfect for your sympathy cards!

I have one more picture for you - Ron and I travelled to Heidelberg, Ontario to a VW show on the weekend with Ron's brother Brad and his wife Susan and his other brother Jim and his wife Pat.

I think I had one too many pops because these pictures were on my camera when I downloaded my card pictures.......d'oh!! It was a fun weekend!

Enjoy Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge!

Good day and welcome to another Waltzingmouse Stamps sketch challenge! I just got a new computer so I am trying to figure out this new keyboard which is slightly different from my old one. The shift button is over a little farther so \i may have things like that happening lol!

I really liked this sketch and I had to get out my pretty new Basic Grey Olivia Papers to play! As you can see, I turned the sketch around sideways and then I stamped using the new Rescue Remedies Additions!

enjoy

The little scroll was stamped in Distress Ink and the word “Enjoy” was stamped with Raspberry Fizz ink. I added some Zvabling and a few Prima roses to compliment.

The blue “ribbon” is Basic Grey Olivia paper ribbon – FUN!! but I kept licking it because I thought it was sticky, but no *snort* – so use glue – and that was kind of hard getting it on the card and not seen – oh the trials and tribulations of a stamper!!
Smiley from millan.net

We would love for you to play and you may use any stamps of your choice in our challenge entries. Of course, we love to see what you come up with using Waltzingmouse Stamps images, but they are not required to play.

Today I am showcasing Scentsational Perfume for you (isn't that a great name?!!) and you will certainly notice that I have no colour on my card!

These stamps are so spectacular they stand out on their own, colouring or not! I did use one of Zva Creative bling flourishes as an embellishment, but I think it just adds to the whole card!

What do you think?

Thanks for coming around and now you are on to the sensational Christi Thorsen's blog where she has the next letter for you!! yay!!

DRS Designs and the Color Throwdown!

Today is my day to post over at the DRS Designs blog and it is also the first day of sneak peeks for our new release!! So here is a peek at the peek!

I used the Color Throwdown colours for my card - EXCEPT I noticed that I missed the pink entirely-- argggghhhhh! I could have coloured the nose pink for heaven's sakes.....okay pretend the nose is pink.....dang it...

Faith...

Good day and I hope you had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend! We went out to the St. Clair River last night and watched the American fireworks from my brother and sister-in-law's dock!

You guys sure know how to put on a show - it was fabulous - we go every year and it only gets better and better! Thank you!

I have a DRS Designs card for you today and I love this sentiment - it is one of my favorites!

I stamped the Faith Greeting sentiment twice, once in Vivid Aqua and once in Memento Rich Cocoa. I cut out the words "Faith" and "is knowing"  and adhered them on top of the sentiment that was cut out with the Spellbinders Labels 4 - one of my favorite dies!

The base of the card is run through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder and the Aqua cardstock trim was cut with the Stamping UP! scalloped punch!

If you are still enjoying your long weekend, I hope it is a hot and happy one!

My Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peek Day!

If you must know I was going to entitle this post "My PMS Day" but I just couldn't do it lol!

This is my first day to post about Paper Makeup Stamps and I couldn't be more thrilled with these stamps. They are a high quality, deeply etched rubber, and when you stamp them you just go "ahhhh"!! I love it!

So, this stamp set is called Retail Therapy and some of the Makeup Artists have been given this stamp set to showcase today! This is Day 2 of the peeks, and on the Paper Makeup Stamps blog, they have peeks from the other stamp sets!

I used my Cosmo Cricket Delovely designer paper for this card - I cut out one of the sheets with the Stamping UP! Top Note die and did some zig zag sewing and straight sewing (please don't look too close lol!).

I stamped and coloured my image, and then cut it out and popped it up, along with the cute sentiment which has a bit of added bling (well, of course!!)

Take a shopping spree around to the following Makeup Artists to see the cute things they have been making!

It's Your Day!

Good Day!

Did you catch the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz yesterday?! If not there is still time to enter and win a stamp set! J

Just leave a comment on every designer's blog - don't worry - there are not too many of us -and you are entered to win a stamp set PLUS leave a comment on the Waltzingmouse Stamps blog, and then you are entered to win another stamp set! woohoo!

Today I have a card I made for a twelve year old boy (yikes!) who likes army tanks.......well, I don't have any army tanks but I did have the helicopters from Kim Hughes stamp set Little Guy, so I made a sort of army card.

I used one of the sentiments from Papertrey Ink's Star Prints and then highlighted it in white. Kind of hard to see - I should have maybe just stamped the whole thing in white...what do you think?

The cloud die cuts and felt are also from Papertrey Ink, as is the Kraft Cardstock. The designer paper is some that I have had in my stash for awhile......gotta use up that stash!!

I hope he likes it!

Waltzingmouse Release Blog Waltz!

Good day and YAY!! it is finally time for our Waltzingmouse Stamps release Blog Waltz! We are releasing 6 new sets today and boy do we have some awesome creations for you!

Of course there are prizes - so leave a comment on every designer's blog for a chance at a new stamp set AND on the Waltzingmouse Stamps blog for another chance to win a stamp set!  Double the fun!

If you are coming here from Lisa's blog you are on the right track! but you should go back to the beginning at Claire's blog so you don't miss a thing!

Okay on to my creation!
I LOVE the new set called Rescue Remedies - I had created a tag with this set but then the wheels started turning, as occasionally they do, and I started thinking Home Decor - love decorating but can seldom afford what I would like to do.....

My kitchen is painted brick red and I have chosen to decorate it with black accessories.

Well, I recently came across a frame buried deep in my stash, and the backing was just like the back of a peg board.

I really liked the distressed look, complete with all the discolourations, and so I used it for my creation today.

I took the glass off so you could see it without the glare, but I have it up in my kitchen on my side table with the glass on.

For the first tag, I used the Plaid stamp from the Off Beat Backgrounds set, stamped it with Walnut Distress Ink, and cut it out with the largest Labels 4 Spellbinders die.

Then, using the same ink, I stamped the Rescue Remedies stamp and cut it out with the next in line Labels 4 Spellbinders die.

I popped up the image onto the plaid background, tied a black bow with a button and twine and added it to finish it off!

I then made two more tags, using the Rescue Remedies stamps with the NEW Victorian Fripperie backgrounder and the polka stamp from Off Beat Backgrounds.

Okay now, from here you go on to Anya's blog and see her fabulous creation!! Have fun!

Fun News!!

Two things today:

First, and I am excited to say, I have recently joined Paper Makeup Stamps as one of their designers!!  yay!

We have an awesome lot of designers - check them out on the side bar - and some fun challenges coming up!

I just received my stamps yesterday so I am making up samples as we speak/chat/type! and my first post with PMS Stamps (don't you love it?!) will be July 4, which is Sunday! woot! woot!

And second - come on back to the old bloggerooni at 2:00 pm TODAY, for our Waltzingmouse Stamps release Blog Waltz!! and of course there are prizes to be won!
