Cutie Petootie!

Good Sunday Morning to you!

Just a quick post today, as I NEED to clean my stamping room and prepare something yummy for supper tonight!

I have been neglecting my house and family, with of all this card-making/craft bazaar stuff, but now it is over and hopefully things will slow down a bit!!

A little bit of Stamping Bella cuteness and Kim Hughes goodness featured in this card.

The layout is one that Michelle Wooderson used for one of her Bella cards months ago, and it worked for this little Kittycattabella!

I stamped the Lined Paper Backgrounder onto Papertrey Ink aquamist cardstock and covered the bottom half with Basic Grey Obscure paper. I paper pieced Kittycattabella's pants with the same paper and coloured her with my copics.

I added a few stray ribbons and voila!!

Don't forget to find out who won the blog candy - it may have been you!!

Stay Warm or Scrap that Challenge!!

**Just a reminder** --I have blog candy that I am drawing for tomorrow right here!! There are two different packages -so two chances to win!! yay!!

Don't I just have the most awesomest titles for my posts!!! - she said sarcastically......hehehe...........

Today's challenge on Embellish-it Scrapbooking was Suzy's responsibility and boy - what a great one!! Use the scraps that are laying around your play area and make a "something"!!

That was easy enough - lately I have got tons of crap, I mean scrap, laying all over the place!!

I had this robot stamped and coloured with my copics ,so of course I was going to use that. But I wanted to incorporate a Christmas theme since Marcie and I have been doing our Christmas bazaar's and we need all the Christmas card's we can!!

While this is not really Christmas-y, it is using Basic Grey Wassail and he is wearing mittens - so it passes!!

The mittens are from Kim Hughes set "Christmas Cheer" and the robot is from the "Little Guy" set - both very cute!!

Hero Arts felt snowflake, Basic Grey Wassail buttons and Cuttlebug snowflake folder finish it off!

A little "out there" but cute none-the-less!!

Sketch Challenge 204!

******There is blog candy, here, that I am going to draw for on Saturday!! Two packages - yummy!

It's hard to believe that the sketch challenge is up to #204!! I have only been around for the last 60 or so but even that seems amazing!! YAY!

Loved the sketch today so I made a card in a hurry before I go get my blood taken for my physical. Well, I had my physical a couple of months ago but didn't get the blood drawn because you have to fast, so right now I am starving......

AND if this card seems yucky to you, it's because I am hungry and weak! haha!!

I couldn't get the colours to photograph properly, but this Thomas Kincaid paper is so beautiful with its dark, rich colours.

I used kraft cardstock as my base and a bit of Spring Moss to stamp on. The sentiment is from Little Paper Shop and is called, appropriately enough, In Loving Memory.

I added a few copper brads and three little stitches, a thing that I saw Michele Boyer do and I think it is so classy.....so I am going to try to be classy like Michele! Good luck to me - hahaha!!

Have a great day and have a Happy Thanksgiving week to all my American friends, and don't forget to search the web for all the fabulous Black Friday sales!!

Ellen Hutson, Tinkering Ink, - there is a Stamping UP! post here that you can check out.

I thought there might be a thread somewhere stating all the stamping sales, but just do what I do - sit on the computer all day and surf!!

Vintage Santa!

Two chances of blog candy is available on this post here......the draw is Saturday!!

You know I just love the vintage look - although sometimes pulling it off, is another story!

These Crafty Secrets Christmas Vintage Image & Journal Notes are just fabulous for creating your vintage looks! (cripes that a big name for such a cute little book!)

I just took out a page of the notebook, which is perforated at the top, and trimmed it down to the size I was looking for.

I sponged it all up to make it appear even more old and then adhered it to some Ripe Avocado cardstock by Papertrey Ink.

The base of my card is also Ripe Avocado with some K & Company Christmas paper on top. It is all kind of old and vintage-y so I thought it would be great paper to use!

I added some stitching around the edges and then popped up the main image onto the card base.

As a well needed afterthought - which should have been a forethought - I shoved in a snowflake that was cut out with the snowflake Cuttlebug die which could be why it looks kind of lop-sided! Shoving in a snowflake is never good.

I adhered some cranberry ribbon from Flourishes with an antique brad.

Such a quick and easy card to make with the help of these Journal notes!!

Blog Candy...........finally.........

ETA*** again.........This post is now closed.

ETA*** This post is staying at the top (if I can figure that out - LOL!) until Saturday when I will announce the winner!!

So I have finally got tired of tripping over the blog candy I have had sitting in the scrap room for the last 2 months!!

I promised this blog candy at my b
logaversary, way back in September....... then promptly forgot........ and then remembered......... and then pushed it aside because I was too embarrassed to post it - but now here it is!!

This is the "blog candy because I remembered about the blog candy" candy!!

And because I was so late, and you are sooooooooo patient, more patient than I deserve!!, I am going to offer two packages of candy !! YAY!!

Okay, Candy #1 consists of

- the Cuttlebug Christmas tree embossing folder,
- a package of Basic Grey Sugared buttons
- a package of Spellbinders Tag Die

Candy #2 consists of

- a 6 x 6 paper pack of Boxer Archaic paper
- The Cuttlebug Christmas Ornament embossing folder
- a package of Basic Grey Cupcake glazed brads

I won't make you do a dang thing except leave me a comment on this post and tell your friends because this candy is way too good to miss!!

I might even add a few extra's to the winner's loot!!

Sorry, but this candy is limited to Canada and United States only - I detest saying that.......

LPS Monday!!

Little Paper Shop Monday and I'm at it again - posting late that is! What can you do?

It's snaining or rowing - which ever way you want to call it - YUCKY!! and this is just the beginning!! bah...........

Here is my card with the sentiment only from Little Paper Shop "Beauty of Nature" acrylic stamp set!

The paper is from the 6 x 6 papear pack of
Memory Box Sprout and I did a wee bit'o sewing.

Actually, my thread ran out halfway around the card - which you can't really tell thank goodness! I had asked my assistant days ago to keep watching and make sure to change that thread when it got low so that I wouldn't run out - but did he/she/it listen??? Nope.

Now, you KNOW I don't have an assistant, I am just blabbering on today!

I added a few Prima flowers and really had to force myself NOT to add any ribbon. I really wanted to but I sometimes have a problem with enough is enough!!

The sentiment is cut out with the
Spellbinders tag die and if you like this set of dies I am FINALLY offering up my blog candy tomorrow and this tag die set is included, because my assistant ordered them twice!

I may have to let him/her/it go if he/she/it doesn't smarten up!

The blog candy is one I should have/was going to do, for my blogaversary, a
nd I completely forgot all about it (grrr....that assistant again!) so because of that I am going to offer up two little packages!! but again, that is for tomorrow's post.

Thanks for looking!!

Two, two, two challenges in one!!

Super fun Limited Supply challenge today on Splitcoast Stampers and that is to use a chocolate anything in your creation!!

Also, on Embellish-It Scrapbooking Free for All Friday Challenge, we were challenged to use yummy chocolate, raspberry and orange in our creation!!

Once I saw Christina Fischer's post today I was inspired BIG time and I have a whole package of boughten tags to decorate!

The first thing was to find the dang things.........oh there they are.......

I started by deciding which stamps to use and I chose the Hugs and Kisses stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms because:

1. it has the word chocolate in it and
2. because it has the word chocolate in it!!

I stamped the Perfect Plaid Scrapblock in Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate.

Then I ripped a corner off of my Fancy Pants Happy Holidays paper pack - and glued it onto the tag.

I added a couple of Prima flowers with brads and bling.

Then, using my smallest label nesties, I cut out a label, but before removing it from the die I sponged some Summer Sunrise and Pure Poppy ink around the inside so that it left a border around the outside - I love that look and I saw it on someone's blog and be danged if I can remember - soooooooo sorry!

Then I stamped the little sentiments in Dark Chocolate (yay! chocolate!)

I added some ribbon that was a very light pink with dark chocolate polka dots, but I was able to go over the ribbon with a copic marker to colour it the shade of raspberry I needed!! Isn't that just the COOLEST!!!???

YAY! chocolate bookmarks yummo!!

Butterfly sympathy with a Pearl...........

Today's Ways to Use it Challenge is to use pearls! I LOVE using Pearls - with a capital "P" because I LOVE using Pearls!!

My card base is Prism blue - I don't have a clue to the special names - baby blue, light blue, sky blue, basic blue, not quite blue, could be blue but it's not, - it's too much to remember. Suffice to say it is a lighter than dark blue and quite pretty!

I stamped the silhouette flower's from Kim Hughes set Nature's Silhouette in Vintage Photo distress ink and Adirondack denim ink.

The designer paper is Basic Grey Granola and I stamped right onto the designer paper, along with the sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink set Birds of a Feather, which is a beautiful font that I just love using!

I trimmed the bottom piece of dp with my threading water punch and then added a couple of lines of embossing with my Scor-Pal.

My mail lady delivered my Cuttlebug Tag Team Butterflies just this morning - yay!! and it was perfect to use for this card!

I added a (rather large) pearl brad to the center of the butterfly to make her pretty!

Ready to send on its way - although I detest having to make these type of cards, hopefully the recipient will find some comfort in it.............

Soccer Mom!

I know this is a little off season, but I just got this Soccer Mom Bella from The Paper Pickle and had to try her out!

What a great card for a mom who is driving her kids all over the dang place, here to there, one field to another, each and every weekend of spring, summer and fall!!!
Oh sorry.........lost my train of thought there.......

Stamps: Stamping Bella
Ink: Brilliance Black, Copics
Papers: Chocolate Chip, Fancy Pants, and stash
Accessories: sewing machine, Prima flowers, basic grey brads, dimensionals

Feel Better Soon......

A Feel Better Soon card in the Colour Challenge colours. Today's colours were Kraft, Basic Black and Real Red - a lovely combo if I do say so myself!

Kim Hughes stamp set Comforting Hugs was what I used today - such a cute "do all" set for feeling good - and from Emma's Paperie, my Jenni Bowlin papers that are so cute!! - this set of papers comes already in 4 x 4 so you just have to plunk it on your paper!

I stamped the broken heart in Brilliance Black and then coloured it with a lipstick red copic.

My plan was to add my chili pepper red fun flock, and, if you are like me, you don't want to leave your flocking abilities to chance and expect it to be even. So if you colour it first and then add the flock - it still looks uniformly red!! - kapeesh??!!

And really, nothing says "feel better soon" like flock!! I think my grandma told me that one time....

And check out that cuddly ribbon! I got that in a ribbon share with
Jody Morrow - such a perfect fuzzy wuzzy ribbon - guaranteed to make you feel better! Don't you think?!!

I used my new - FINALLY got them!! - label dies from Spellbinders, which were on pre-order like forevah!! - I mean really, these were advertised back in JULY.........'nuff said. Perhaps I am meant to really appreciate them now.......ooops.....'nuff said......and I do!..........oops.

Look what greeted us this morning!! Isn't it pretty??!! That is the barn waaaaaaaaaaaayy in the background where the I go and gather the eggs. trudge. trudge. trudge. sliiiip....... trudge. trudge.

Little Paper Shop Monday goes Global!

I am so ashamed to say that I have never used my Little Paper Shop Global stamp set. I guess we were away on holidays when this set broke loose!

So I stamped it today for Little Paper Shop Monday and combined it with yesterday's Featured Stamper Challenge.

Kendra was the featured stamper yesterday and I chose to case
this card.
I thought the Global set would fit perfectly onto this sort of design!

I know that Kendra's creation was an actual card, howev
er, sometimes things happen beyond anyone's control, and the nestabilities just don't want to move up a bit so that you can keep a fold! Sometimes the nestabilities just cut one layer, instead of two, and you have a Christmas ornament instead of a card!

Okay, before someone gets on my case, the nestabilities had nothing to do with it, it was me - in case you didn't guess................LOL!

I used DCWV Glitter Winter Stack - you can't really see all the pretty glitter, but it is there - maybe if you click on the picture you can see it.

I used my NEVER used tag curler and added a cute little tag that says LAUGH - I thought that was pretty appropriate, since I kind of screwed it up and instead of shredding the thing to pieces I just laughed - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! - kind of in a maniac way..........and you know what I mean........

What's in a Name?!

Take a look at the honour that CCEE Stampers bestowed upon me this week...... I am extremely flattered!

Who knew farm living could inspire such wonderful creations!

Another Obsession!

Well this could certainly become an obsession, and that is digital scrapbooking! I am definitely NOT a scrapbooker but I am definitely a wanna-be.

I love all the beautiful pages that capture a moment in the day of our lives, so I enrolled in Jessica Sprague's Digital Scrapbooking Class.

I love this class because you can take it at your own pace - this was a huge selling point for me! that and Julia Stainton who has taken that class and when I see her digital pages I am just "jaw-dropping" awestruck!

So, I started and this week I made this page!

I still have to do the homework, but I am actually looking forward to it - my first thought was "yuk,
homework" but then I remember I am 50 and I am really not that afraid of failure - well not at digital scrapbooking!

It's not like I am going to get a D or anything!

Challenges!

It's time for the Inspiration Challenge and since it is the 15th of the month it is also the Little Paper Shop Challenge!

This Little Paper Shop challenge was issued by Elyssa and we had to

- use (2) Little Paper Shop stamp sets,
- use an image that we could colour and
- add some glitter!! LUV glitter!!

For the Inspiration Challenge I chose this scarf and was inspired by the leaves and the theme which is why I also chose to use the Beauty of Nature stamp set!!

First of all - so sorry this is late - our hydro went out about 10:30 am - it is now 4:53 pm and it just came back on....ugh! Of course, if I had have posted it before the hydro went out then all would have been well!!

And, by now, you have probably already seen all the other Design Team's creations 10 times over by now, but if you haven't, (and why not?!) hop on over and see what they came up with!

The layout for this card was from a card that Alli Miles did ages ago, and I thought it would work for this card . Thanks Alli!

The first stamp set I used was
"Beauty of Nature" and has such pretty birds and sentiments to work with. I actually paper pieced this pretty bird's body with Memory Box Daffodil paper - well, anything that is yellow was paper pieced, BUT I did colour everything else!

The card base is Prism paper with Basic Grey Perhaps as the designer paper background - which I Cuttlebugged with the Leafy Branch embossing folder!

Then I made a frill out of the Daffodil paper and stamped with my second stamp set, Flourished Dove, by using the swirl border only. I inked up the swirls with three different colours of versa ink and stamped it onto the yellow frill-y paper.

The bottom border of paper is from the Memory Box set Sparkle and it is actually a piece I had laying around on my table. (But I hope it doesn't look like it is just a spare piece!) I ran it through the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder and glued it to the Basic Grey paper.

Then I started sponging distress ink on anything that wasn't glued down to make it seem a little vintage-y looking! and layered stuff on top of each other. A few little buttons and ribbon and it was done!

Thanks for coming around........!

Cupcake-a-licious!

A little Verve-a-liciousness today!! Cupcake City!! Warm and Fuzzy felt stuff to go along with it!!

That is the challenge this week on Embellish-It Scrapbooking! Ching had the honours this week and her challenge was to create something with felt, out of felt, with felt attached.

I attached a little felt heart (not to be mistaken for heartfelt, and a little felt button from my Fancy Pants Designs Felt Shapes to the side of my Cupcake - to make it yummy! not that it could be any yummier!

I actually used my pink liquid applique!!! - yes, I have been hoarding it for just that special occasion.......which is..........um............a very special occasion that is soon coming my way that I may need pink liquid applique for - THAT is why I am hoarding it!

Oh, who knows why I hoard things???!!!

The card is made from Basic Grey Urban Prairie designer paper and the Cupcake is from Verve Stamps of course, and that set is called Cupcake Affair - love it!!

Here we go..........on a personal note, I took Holly to a doctor's appointment yesterday and I got the nerve up to ask about my breast ultrasound.

After all, it has been almost 3 weeks and no one has let me know
anything!

The report says it is just a cyst and to keep up the mammograms. Well, you think they could have called and told me that.

Anyway, I walked down the hall and started crying - right out of the blue!! I guess I was more worried
than I thought.

I think I will go and have a Cupcake Affair right now!! to celebrate of course!

Trim the Tree!

I LOVE happy mail! and lately - because I'm a buy-a-holic Christmas is coming, I have been getting a lot of happy mail!

YAY! I'm happy!! - and that is the point after all............

"Trim the Tree" caught my eye and Sophia is so cute! She is from Paper Pretties -yes, I joined the club!! I LOVE clubs!!

I don't think this Sophia even been released yet..............aren't I lucky??!!

I decided to paper piece and cut her out and I finally used some of my K & Company chipboard letters - which I scored BIG at Costco - my huge box of letters that I now have to use up.......

I have a tonne (2,204.6226 lbs) of these letters!! - which is more than a ton! (2,000 lbs), unless of course you are talking about a long ton (2,240 lbs)......roll your eyes and say 'whatever'
.

And, she comes with a little stamp that says "trim the tree" - which is somewhere on my desk, lost in the obliviousness of that mess!

I was going to stamp the "trim the" part over top of the "TREE" letters which would have completed this card to the fullest!!!

The base of my card is Ripe Avocado and the patterned paper is a luscious new Christmas pad, Peppermint Twist by K & Company - pretty papers!!

I trimmed it with a couple of buttons and a glazed brad from Basic Grey.

Hope you like it!

Bitty Baby card!

Another cased card, this time from Taylored Expressions! I loved this the first time I saw it and decided with all these babies coming up, I better get started!

I used Ocean Tides and Kraft cardstock and Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set along with swiss dots satin ribbon -- all from Papertrey Ink - for this quick and easy card!

The polka dot background is from All That Scraps and is called Big Ol' Backgrounds Polka Dots.

I scored along the top with my Scor-pal for a bit of added interest.

Thanks for looking!

A very quick card and a very quick post - on my way to Math Class with Holly..........our Tuesday together and always/usually enjoyable!

Thanks for looking!

Dreaming about LPS

Yes, that is a pretty lame title for a post.......but really, sometime I do dream about stamping and how to layout cards - and don't you dare laugh because I know you do it too!!

Today is Little Paper Shop Monday and I give you another Little Paper Shop card with the Little Paper Shop stamp set "A Dream"!!

I also made this card a l
ittle vintage-y because Friday's challenge at Embellish-It Scrapbooking was to make a vintage type card which I love doing, however I didn't get around to it until yesterday!

The paper I used on this card is from Basic Grey Offbeat and while it may not seem like the kind of paper to use on a vintage-y card - I think it came out rather nice!

I inked around the edges of the card base, which is Papertrey Ink's Ocean Tides (perfect match!!) with white ink and then also sponged with dark chocolate around the sentiment!

Primas, buttons, twine and a bit of paper ribbon completed this card - which I am quite happy with today! yay!

The Other Purse...........

Here is the other purse that I made with Nicole Heady's tutorial and it is pretty dang cute if I do say so myself.

Not as fluffy as the other one, but sweet just the same!

I stamped the Frog "Prince" , as I like to call him, onto white cardstock and coloured him with my copics.

I cut, scored and folded my Imaginisce paper, as per the tutorial and attached the ribbon.

I had some MM pink velvet stickers in a drawer, at the back, that I found, so I used the little pink wings and attached them to the box.

The Frog Prince was cut out and glued on top of the wings........! and Voila! Another little purse for Lip Smackers and such!!

Sweet Grace's Purse!!

Before I get started, Little Paper Shop is having a 15% sale today (Saturday) only on everything in the store!! How cool is THAT!!
Hop on over and scoop up those sweet stamp sets!!

Okay, how about one more project using that adorable Imaginisce "Fairest of Them All" papers??!

This project is from a tutorial by the amazing Nicole Heady, for her Clearly Creative Purse she made way back in December 2007!

Using a clear, soft fold box and your craft knife,
and before assembling the box, carefully cut the clear box in half. This is a heck of a lot easier to do when it is unassembled and laying flat!! I used a ruler and ran the knife alongside to ensure a straight cut.

Now you have two sides, so what could I do but ma
ke two purses?!! I will show the other one tomorrow.....

Now assemble the clear half box, which is just the flap at the end, and set it aside.

Using a double sided piece of designer paper, I used Enchanted Garden for my "grace" purse, cut a piece 6 5/8" X 4 3/8".

Then, using a Scor-Pal, (you
have to get one of these babes!!) score the paper at 2 7/8" and 3 3/4" from the long side.

At this point, I added my ribbon to my designer paper, because I wanted to decorate the outside of the "purse" without the ribbon getting in the way. I added a few little glue dots on the very bottom of the paper before I inserted it into the box, so it would stay put, and around the top edge.

Using the complimentary "Crowning Moment" DP pape
r, I cut a strip and made a border with my scalloped punch and adhered it around the top outside of the purse.

I dug out my Thickers and my Paint Dabbers and dabbed up the letters, first with Pink Sherbet, then Watermelon and then went over top with the Pearl dabber, and I really love the outcome of the letters - all mottled like that!!

I embossed a small scrap of vellum with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and punched out a butterfly with the Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I added a bit of Hero Arts bling and adhered it with rolled up glue dot.

I added a few Prima hydrangeas with Stamping Bella baubles and it is ready for our sweet little great niece (gawd!! I sound freakin' old!!) Grace to use for her lip glosses or Smarties or even a little baby doll!
