Happy Canada Day!

Good Morning! and if you are Canadian - Happy Canada Day! and if you are not Canadian I wish you a happy day regardless!

We are not doing much because of this whole silly year and Coronavirus et al,  but I am leaving the house to pick up groceries yay! Strange how little things excite me now 😁.  Hubby has gone fishing so I hope he brings home supper - that would be awesome!

I made a Canada Day card to celebrate the day - this cute little Mountie image is from Taylored Expressions and is from The Moka Collection, which is now retired I believe.  I bought her way back when and brought her out this year.

I stamped the Mountie image on a panel of Sugar Cube cardstock and coloured her up with my Copic markers. Using stamping mask paper, I masked this cute little Mountie and then using the Set the Scene-Clouds Stencil Strips, I stencilled the clouds with Sea Salt Ink - a beautiful very light aqua.  I also stencilled the grass using two different colours of ink using a stencil I previously owned.

I removed the mask and gasped! LOL  I love the reveal - the best feeling ever.  I stamped the little maple leaf with Cherry Cobbler ink, die cut it with a heart die and sponged it up to match with the sky and grass.  I popped it up beside the Mountie and adhered the panel to a piece of red cardstock.

For my card base, I used the Plaid Layered stencil with Sea Salt Ink and Cherry Cobbler and popped up the panel onto the base.

I added some red and white twine because - well - Canada Day!

Choose Joy!

Don't you just love that sentiment?! We should all be trying to choose JOY right now - especially during these crazy times - it just feels better!

I recently purchased this "Fresh Picked Florals" stamp set and matching dies from Taylored Expressions. It's a photopolymer stamp set which makes it so simple to layer - yay!!

To begin creating my card, I stamped the red rubber Shiplap background with Toffee Ink, then I went to work stamping and layering my flowers.  I used Lollipop, Cherry Pop, Plum Punch, Pineapple, Candied Corn,  Cookie Monster, Blue Raspberry, Lime Zest and Cilantro for the images. I love how they just come to life with the different layers!

I tend to make a whole bunch so that they are available for future projects and while I am in the stamping mode - let's STAMP!!

After die-cutting all my flowers and leaves, it was easy to arrange a small floral arrangement onto the Shiplap Background - popping up some images and adhering others with Tombow Mono adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment from Handlettered Sentiments with Poppy Seed ink from Taylored Expressions. Did you know that all of their inks are named after food??!!! YUMMY!

I popped up the stamped panel onto Kraft cardstock and added some pretty little Studio Katia gems for lots of sparkle!

Oooo it feels good to be back stamping again!

Up The Happy!

Good morning - and what a dull and dreary one at that.....   I know, what a cheerful greeting right? Lol - well it has been an unusually chilly spring here - and I have been freezing for weeks - oh dear poor poor me :)

Inspired by All the Little Things has a cute photo this week which cheers me right up!

I LOVE airplanes - not jets (notta, no, nope) just airplanes.  My hubby has owned two during our married life, a PA-11 and a J-3 Cub, and his father was an airplane enthusiast, so airplanes sort of came with the marriage haha.

However I didn't use an airplane on my card - weird I know.  I acquired some new stamps - knock me over! - and I wanted to ink them up and why the heck not?

Ellen Hutson has a great line of product - Essentials by Ellen- they have never been on my radar and now I am wondering - why the heck not? (did I say that already...) AND they come already in their own plastic storage envelope - I didn't have to get my little printing machine out or anything - perfectly perfect in every way!

I used the Up the Happy stamp set and created my card.

I die cut a small hill out of patterned paper and stamped the super fun sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.....shoulda/wish I had used my Misti gah! I stamped several balloon images from coloured cardstock, fussy cut them and made a glaggle (my word) of balloons.  I stamped the cute clouds and added a few hearts.

After trimming down my card panel, I popped it up onto another cardstock panel and added some washi tape down the edges - cute right?!

Go and have a fabulous day - and Up the Happy!!

CAS-ual Fridays New Release Sneak Peek Day Five!

Hey there everyone - today is the last day of sneak peeks for CAS-ual Fridays new releases- tonight at midnight all product will be up in the store for sale - YAY!!

…..and did you know that every day of the sneak peeks there has been a new question on the CAS-ual Fridays blog to answer?  You have until 9:00 pm April 29 - aacckkkk - that's today!! to answer the questions and you will be eligible for a gift code to the store woohoo!

Now onto the pretty stuff!

Today's post is all about the backgrounds!  We have a new one called Tin Roof - which can be used vintage-y, modern, classy - whichever way suits your fancy.

I decided to go very black and white - and just be classy with my creation today.

I had a little help with our Pretty Posies sentiments from our new release and Casual Trees Fri-Dies for my embellishments, choosing to tuck those sweet trees into cute little grouping of Prima flowers.

I stamped the sentiment onto a slip of white cardstock and backed it with black cardstock.

I adhered baby blue seam binding ribbon and silver twine onto a doily (from the stationary section at the grocery store haha) and then added my flowers with the attached sentiment.

Then the doily etc. was adhered to my Tin Roof stamped background which was in turned glued onto white cardstock and a Soft Stone card base.

This creation may take a bit of extra padding (and/or postage) but wouldn't it be totally worth it?!!

I hope you have enjoyed our creations this week - I know I have had a grand time playing with all the new product - have fun shopping!!

Faith Can Move Mountains

Oh my goodness - February and March are the busiest months in the park - we are gearing up for the annual Golf Tournament, and I am in the middle of my match play series.  We are having a blast.  Ron's brother and his wife are coming for a few days as well, so we are really looking forward to showing them around!

This week's challenge - on The Challenge - has a great colour theme...still Valentine-y and I'm not quite ready to let that go!

…and...I am absolutely in love with Reverse Confetti's newest release, so I am getting inky with it….

The Lord's Strength is a beautiful faith based set that is perfect for Bible journalling or card making.  I have yet to enter the journalling phase - but I love the "feel" and hope to become familiar with it some time in my future.

I stamped and die cut the beautiful three step flowers from Garden Bunch - I only used two steps - purely your choice.  My inks were Hibiscus Burst and Pure Poppy - both from Papertrey Ink.

I designed my card around the "faith" sentiment, using the flowers as a border and adding a few die cut Layered Laurels Confetti Cuts.

I stamped the sentiment onto a die cut from Love Note, and then cut a second one in red and offset the sentiment onto the red to form a slight border.

The cute little scalloped frame is Mama Elephant's Madison Avenue Framed Tags, cut from Papertrey Ink Gold Luxe Foil Patterned Paper.

I finished my creation with some black and white twine and little black baubles….

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

So Glad to Call you Friend

Good morning!  The Papertrey Ink 9th Anniversary Celebrations are all over and there were so many prizes to be won - over 90 prizes were given out - not me of course - I'm just lucky in love and life *smugness inserted here.

And the TIME OUT Challenge this week is all about love and flowers  their inspiration words are "Love is the Flower you've got to let Grow"- which is right up my alley - so I am entering this into their challenge!!

I didn't have time to upload my card for the last challenge which was to use the Papercrafting Alphabet from PTI to create your card, but I blogged about it regardless.

My initials are BON naturally, so I needed to use a Banner, Ombre and something New.

I used a sheet of cardstock from the Ombre Stripes Patterned paper pack which is also my something NEW that hadn't been used.

I watercoloured a sheet from Bold Blossoms Watercolor pack using my Zig Real Brush Markers and then trimmed it to fit onto my Hawaiian Shores cardstock base - also using a diagonal cut.

I diecut a sentiment from Scripted Sentiments and added the Banner to finish off the sentiment.

These challenges were so much fun - well really the whole anniversary celebration was just fabulous!!

I can hardly wait until next year Lol!

Howdy!

Papertrey Ink's 9th Anniversary Celebration is ongoing and another challenge is up on the block.

This time it is a Color Pop challenge - and we had a Color Pop sheet to download, print and play with! - My colours were Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz.

I was fine with the blues, but I must admit that the Raspberry Fizz rattled me haha.  Perserverance is my middle name however, (not really) and I managed to create a cute little card - kind of CAS but had my brain working for sure.

Petite Places has so many series and one of them is the Barnyard Mini Set.  I die cut and stamped the barn three times and added it to my card base.

I die cut the teeny fence and windmill - too cute! and tucked them in here and there.

The tractor had to be pink - I'm a farm girl - not born and raised but definitely in my blood since I married a farm boy - he's a cutie!  It's the only way I will ever have a pink tractor so I am pouring it on!

The "roadway" is from "A Walk in the Park" stamped in Soft Stone….

Try out the challenges - there are lots and you can win prizes yay!!
