Verve, Verve!! VERVE!!!

Well, it is hard to think up titles for my posts!

But I am luvin' this
Verve Visual stamp set Heart to Heart!!

This time I used the stamp for the outside of the heart and stamped the sentiment on the inside. This set is soooo versatile!!

I cut and embossed the image with my square nestabilities, then adhered it onto a scalloped square.

The base of this card is white cardstock from Papertrey Ink, the best cardstock, IMO. It is so heavy weight, it makes a great base for your cards!

The designer paper is Karen Neuberger scrap leftover from my Think Pink package from Paper Pretties, such pretty and dainty paper!!

The photo corners are just a scalloped circle- quartered and glued to the corners. I just wanted a soft look so that I what I used!

Verve Visual has gone acrylic - did you know!! So no more mounting and cutting out of rubber stamps.....although that is not sooooo bad, if you like that sort of thing! LOL!

Now you need to tell me if the printing in my blog is tooooo small or tooooo big! I have been to a couple of blogs where I needed my glasses to read their posts, their printing was soooo small! -- so I just passed over them.....I don't want to get a headache from blurfing!!

I LOVE to blurf!!

LUCKY ME!!

I LOVE you Verve Visual!!

Okay, that may be a little much I know, but I really do like this stamp set from Verve Visual!

It stamps so crisply and cleanly and make beautiful cards!

This stamp set from Verve Visual is called Heart to Heart, and honestly it is so pretty. I really wondered when I got the package - how am I going to use these?! I am not a heart person - I mean, I HAVE a heart, but stamping with hearts is just not usually me!

But I really like these ........

I found this layout that I liked on Inkin' it Up , which is Kendra Giles' site. She has some fantastic creations and you really should check out her site - you won't regret it!!

Very straight forward card.....the ribbon and the designer paper is Karen Neuberger, leftover from the Paper Pretties Think Pink package that I had.

I stamped the heart in ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inkpad - Warm Violet and then the sentiment in Staz-on Jet Black.

I backed that in black cardstock and mounted it up with pop-dots, added a few black brads and done!!

Very simple, but beautiful (IMO)!!
This Heart to Heart set has a lot of sentiments on it, that you will just LOVE!! and I did too!!

LUCKY ME!!

23. Excluding family things, what are you physically afraid of? for me, it is bats! ugh!

Okay, I am posting a couple of cards later on, so stay tuned!

Here Puppy, Here Puppy........

This was supposed to be another Valentine for the boys.......but , not thinking, I did it in pink and brown. I was loading it into the computer when I noticed it!! Aw, well.....

This image is one I received from Carol in our swap at Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers (2) - or SBS2. Thanks Carol!! *waving wildly*
I think this is a Stamping Up stamp - although I don't get into their stamps much - so I am not too sure!! Sorry Carol!

However, don't tell hubby, but I did buy a Stamping Up catalogue - ugh - so many pretty things....!!!

Pretty easy card, being as I didn't even have to stamp it! The DP is Karen Neuberger Serenity Collection Dainty Dots Design Paper.

I glued it to my white cardstock - Papertrey Ink of course, and tied some beautiful chocolate satin Offray ribbon around it.

Then I paper pierced the top and bottom of the pink dotted paper.
I colored the image with copics and popped it up on the chocolate background. The heart was outlined with pink liquid applique and puffed up!!

I cut out a tag from the Cuttlebug small tags die and stamped "be my Valentine" from Verve Visual on it. I broke up the sentiment so I could fit it on the tag! Then I tied it around my satin ribbon and done!!

So easy and thanks to Carol at Crazy for Crafting - pretty darn cute!!

Thunder and Lightning here!!! Gotta Go!!

Valentine squeeze....

I have been asked to make some Valentine's for a Grandma (capital "G") for her grandchildren. Two 12 year old boys and two 8 year old boys - yikes!!

I decided that CC Designs Little Bits sets would work perfectly!!

I stamped and coloured the lion and then stamped and coloured his face again, so that I could cut out the mane.

I popped up the mane on the first coloured image, cut the tongs off a heart brad and popped it up on the popped up mane!! (sounds confusing)

The sentiment was stamped and cut out with my BRAND NEW Heart Nestabilities!! with some paper piercing around the edge of the heart. My slot punch was used on the heart and some red ribbon was tied around that slot.

The Designer paper is sei Granny's Kitchen and it is glued on light blue, brown and red cardstock, and then the whole thing is backed on Papertrey Ink's white cardstock for the base.

Very Easy!! I don't know if 8 or 12 year olds will appreciate it but I think it will work!!

I keep forgetting to mention about my Papertrey Ink experience!!
In December, I had ordered the Ambassador Monogram stamp set with a couple of other sets (yeah -SO??!!) from Papertrey Ink. They sent me my other sets okay, but not the Ambassador Monogram set. Instead they had sent the Trajan monogram set - which is a great set also!

I used it here on this card. So I emailed them and let them know that I would return the Trajan monogram set, but please send me the Ambassador that I had ordered. So then they emailed back and apologized and said they could see the mistake and would stick the Ambassador monogram set in the mail right away AND I could keep the Trajan monogram stamp set!!! HOW GREAT IS THAT!!

Honestly, the service at Papertrey Ink is fabulous!! And, I have got enough stamp sets now that I get the free one in February!!! YIPPEE!!

LUCKY ME!!

Cuttlebugged again....

You know I LOVE my Cuttlebug!!

So I was blurfing, last night and came across Sharon Johnson's blog, No Time To Stamp and found some of her wonderful cards made with the Cuttlebug and very little stamping!

That is what her blog is all about........if you don't have a lot of time, these beautiful cards can be made in almost no time at all!!

My card was inspired by Sharon's card here. I don't have a scripted background stamp like hers, so I left it out, which justa gives a little different look (maybe not as nice, but still A-Okay!)

I used the small Cuttlebug folder, which is 2" x 2" and embossed on one side and then the other. I added a black brad in the middle to match the sentiment and the ribbon.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.
The stamp set is called Scripted Greetings and is from Stampington & Company.

Then I added the Prima Ribbon and done!!
Sharon is RIGHT!! Very easy and quick!! Check out her site - I was in awe!!

Jake is gone home with his mom and dad now.......I cried and Ron didn't tease me or anything......

At breakfast yesterday, (our last meal with him) Jake was standing up in his high chair and I told him to sit down, twice. And he didn't. So then hubby pointed his finger at him and said in a stern voice, "SIT DOWN!"

Well, Jake sat down and then the corners of his mouth turned down and then they quivered and then he started to cry. Well, I thought hubby was going to cry right along with him. Jake was covered in peanut butter and jam toast and hubby scooped him right up out of that high chair and hugged him and kissed him and said how sorry he was!! He had tears in his eyes and so did I! Oh, I LOVE being a Grandma!!!

Aren't we a couple of spoilers!!! LOL!

Then his mom and dad came in and took him home!! Boo hoo!!!!!

Aw well, I should tell you that they live right behind us and I can walk over any time I want to! LOL!!

So I think I will, go to that right now!!

LUCKY ME!!

Beauty Queen!!

And what a Beauty Queen she is!! LOL!

Just having a little fun with this new stamp set from All That Scraps! It is CC Designs Luv Ya Lots and it is so cute!!

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and is from the Essential Sentiments stamp set.

The crown is from the Acetate Shape Ghost Variety Pack by Heidi Swapp and all I did was stamp it into my glue pad and pour glitter on it- and yes - it IS messy!!

Costco had a HUMUNGOUS (sp?) box of ribbon a few weeks ago that of course I scooped up and this ribbon is from that huge box!!

I paper pierced the cardstock and also ran a piece through the Cuttlebug - my favourite toy - although I say that about a lot of my toys!!

Jake's mom and dad come home tomorrow!! Boo hoo!! blubber blubber!

I have decided that they can't have him back, because he is too darn cute!!

However, I do need some sleep - he is up at 6 am - too early for me! We are awake at that time listening to the news, but we usually laze around in bed until 6:45 or 7--not with a baby. I had forgotten.

And they miss him soooo much! How much does a phone call from Hawaii to Southern Ontario cost? I guess they will find out!! LOL!!
LUCKY ME!!

Tilda with Luv.....

Well, after yesterday's lunch with Kim Reid, I came home so inspired and I waited (im)patiently all day to get to my stamp room!

I had stamps to be stamped! I had bought stamps and paper AND that dreaded lunchbox at The Town Scrapper, so I needed to play! I am in fear of altered projects, that is why the lunchbox is so dreaded!

What I ended up doing was stamping Marcie's stamp that she won on Kimmie's blog and making a card with Tilda and her basket! Marcie's in Hawaii -- she'll never know!!

The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Mellow line and it worked beautifully with the card I was trying to do.

Obviously, I was very inspired by Kim Reid and her work, but also by the other Magnolia designers, Inga in particular! I mean, just look at all those layers - I love the clean, sleek cards too, but I LOVE layers!!

I dragged out my Quickutz binder and found the grass die I had been hiding, I guess I was so into stamping I forgot that combining the two is an art form all its own.

I stamped and colored Tilda with her cute little basket and cut her out.
After making layers out of cardstock and Basic Grey Mellow, I combined some Heidi Swapp flowers, Prima flowers and MM flowers, added a button and some brads and made a pretty fantastic flower, if I do say so!

I stamped a layered tag with the CC Designs Little Penguins "luv ya" stamp and added some MM ribbon to it. Then I adhered it to my card, popped up Tilda and there she was. Too cute!!

I forgot to tell you that at lunch yesterday, Phebe had brought a little gift for everyone----we had to reach into a bag and pull it out. I picked a breast cancer stamp with a package of Queen & Co. mini letters!! So sweet of her!!

And the VW story.....ugh......well, hubby has been looking for a "great-on- gas" car for ages - probably because he drives a Dodge Hemi truck and that eats gas for breakfast, lunch, and supper!!

So he found a great little VW Cabrio, cheap - and it really is the cutest little car you ever did see and I love it!!

I drove it to Petrolia yesterday and when we came out from lunch, I went to put my parcels in it and I couldn't unlock it!! It must have some sort of security system, because the lights were flashing, the windows were going up and down and the doors were NOT unlocking!!

Everytime I pressed the unlock button everything would work except the unlocking of the doors part!

So I put the key in the lock and the same thing was happening---ugh!! Finally, I stood on my head, swore a bit, turned around 3 times and magically it opened!! (not really) I don't know what I did, but it did unlock.

That is my VW story today. Now I need to get the manual and start reading -

"How to Unlock Your Car Door Without Having a Stroke" on page 72 LOL!!

LUCKY ME!!

New Friends! Fun Friends!

What a glorious day yesterday!!

You know I was heading to Petrolia to meet and have lunch with Kim Reid from Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner and Phebe (owner of The Town Scrapper) friends......well I left home about 11:30 for a reservation at Actor's at 12:30. Never mind it only takes me 20 minutes to get there from my house! I was so excited and I thought I could get a few minutes of shopping in town. Petrolia is a wonderful little town full of glorious shops....so.....off I went!

Well, I drove into the parking lot, a huge parking lot that holds 100 cars I'm sure, and just sat there.

I sat and thought.

You know how, when you are so excited to do something, and then you do it, and it just doesn't turn out how you expected ?

Well, that is what I kept thinking. What if Kim is just a fake? What if they don't like me? What if we all just sit there in tense, pained silence?

I finally got out of my car (a little VW my hubby just bought me "great on gas!! you'll luv it!" - see later story!) and went in to Actor's. Ellen, the owner, greeted me and said that they weren't here yet, but that there was a fabulous little shop at the front - she got no further and off I went to do a little shopping - FANTASTIC shop!! Of course I bought a picture frame to put Jake's picture in....

When I was done I went back to the restaurant, and was seated and waited with a coffee (the best coffee!, by-the-by) and then in they came! There were six of us, Kim Reid, her mom - Nanadiana - on SCS, their friend Connie, Phebe, Ellen (owner of Actor's AND a stamper) and me!

Oh my gosh! What a fun time we had! First of all the food was fabulous (and I am not just saying that because Ellen may be reading this!!) The menu is too cool! I had a Danny deVito, there was a Sally Field and a Flip Wilson - everything is named after a famous person! There was even Betty Boop dessert - a luscious chocolate marshmallow fudge concoction that was brought out for Kim's birthday!!

I was totally in awe the whole lunch! Kim whipped out her copics and gave us an impromptu lesson in colouring and shading (I hope I can remember it!). She had brought some cards that she had made and an altered lunch box....and yes I bought one at The Town Scrapper and I am going to give it a go. I am NOT an alterer but Kim has inspired me so.....we'll see!

Then we all went back to Phebe's at The Town Scrapper and of course, I had to get a couple of more Magnolia stamps.....I LOVE them!! and some paper and the lunch pail!

All in all, it was a fantastic day! and I am so duh to fret! We have all decided that, time permitting, we would love to do it again sometime, and make sure it is at Actor's because it is too fabulous!!

I am going to post a card later......it is Jake's bathtime right now!!

LUCKY ME!!

Let's Go for a Walk.....

Can you tell that I am LUVIN' these My Favorite Things stamps?

They are soooo much fun to do....I don't know why I didn't realize it before!

Since I love my dogs sooooo much, I wanted to do a tribute to them today, with the "Let's Go for a Walk" stamp set from My Favorite Things.

This sentiment could be taken either way, I suppose. The owner could be saying "I'm Here for You" to the dogs or vice versa. Either way, it makes a nice sentiment. It is from My Favorite Things Essential Sentiments stamp set!

It really is a wonderful sentiment set and it has allllll sorts of cool sayings --even one that says "kids with fur"!

I considered using that one for this card, but since Jake is here, I didn't think that would be very good!! LOL!

The designer paper is from s.e.i. and is called Hippie Chick Sidekicks. I bought it at my favourite place, The Town Scrapper, in P-town (Petrolia, Ontario). My kids have called it P-town since, well, since forever!! Hard habit to break - but it IS a term of endearment!!

I am going to Petrolia tomorrow to do some shopping at The Town Scrapper AND have lunch with Kim Reid from Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner!!! Can you believe it!! Well, not just me but a few others too.

She sent out an invite on her blog so I said, what the heck! Hubby gave me the "go ahead" as long as he gets to go ice fishing on Saturday. WOW!! Two full days of fun.....LOL!

I am too excited about lunch with Kim and I feel bad for Marcie (just a wee bit, since she is in Hawaii) because she would have loved to meet her too! Well, there will be other times I hope.....

I added some copper elements, a flower and some brads to finish it off - not too bad!!

I should send this card to my mom for irony's sake - she is in Florida in the sunny south, sunning herself in the HEAT!

OR, I could send it to my DAUGHTER who is in Hawaii, sunning herself in the HEAT!!

Helloooo, we are up here freezing our "starts with a and ends with sses off!!

Well, I really do hope they are having a grand old time and try to bring back a little bit of warmth, although Jakie is warming our hearts every day!

Andy wonders what we are going to do when Jake goes home.... boo hoo! WAAAAAA! not going to think about that!!

I am going to bed to get my beauty sleep so I can have lunch with Kraftin' Kimmie tomorrow!!

LUCKY ME!!

Just Mucking About!!

While I was making this card, I thought "I almost miss gathering my eggs and mucking about in the barn" - the operative word being "almost""!

Since we have Jake this week, my son is gathering the eggs and doing the other "yucky" chores!! Thanks Andy!

This pretty plaid paper is from daisy d's 6 x 6 sidewalk chalk swatches (whew! say that 3 times FAST!!). There are 24 double sided pages and this week they are only $3.37! I bought them at Jacksonbelle Embellishments where everything is 25% off this week!!

I stamped and coloured the image from the Punny Farm stamp set at My Favorite Things, with my copics and cut her out with the oval nestabilities.

The dark purple cardstock was cuttlebugged with the texture embossing folder. I used this because it looks like my grandma's wallpaper and I find comfort in ANYTHING that could be my grandma's!!

That is layered onto that gorgeous coral cardstock that I bought at The Town Scrapper, my local scrapbook store - LSS.

I popped up the image, stamped on the sentiment from My Favorite Things and added some ribbon and some hearts. The hearts are from a heart punch I have and I used the coral cardstock again!

Edited to Add: Sharon (notimetostamp) posted a mini-challenge today using cuttlebugged cards - I forgot to mention that I entered this card in her challenge. I never know if the challenges on other blogs are for everyone or just design teams, but I LOVE my cuttlebug so I thought "well, I can't get fired"! so I just let her see it!!

Pretty easy card, I must say. I think I will send it to myself!!

LUCKY ME!

23 Jan 2008

Happy Birthday Mr. Dinosaur!!

Heavy on the Mister!! He's got BIG teeth!

I don't have any cards for little people's birthdays, and with Jake toddling around this week, it got me thinking that I should get doing some little people cards!!

My Favorite Things has this neat-o set of stamps that can be used for little kids and so I did up a birthday card!

It is fairly (wowsers!) bright! so I think it would appeal to a little guy or gal! I made it unisex so I will be able to grab it at the last minute - I am not a think or work ahead kind of gal!

The flowers are Prima and Phebe at The Town Scrapper in Petrolia threw them in our bags, when we bought stuff there! How sweet is she!!

The plaid and retro paper is daisy d's sidewalk chalk swatches and they are so cool! They come in a acrylic sleeve and are 6 x 6 pieces of bright paper in all sorts of cool patterns. I love it!

I bought it at Jacksonbelle Embellishments who, by the way, is having a 25% sale on right now. I don't know if it is on everything, but everything I looked at was on sale!!

I did some faux sewing around the card and the image and sparkled up his hat and the bow on his gift with my glitter pen!

I added flowers and balloons and he is ready for a party!!

Well, I was undressing Jake for his bath and it was bound to happen ---he peed on me today. Well, not really on me but at me - I was able to dodge it, but poor Rosie (our Schnauzer) ARE THEY NOT TOO SMART!??

She just stood there and watched it rain down on her paws......can you say DUH?! Jake giggled so much, I wondered if he did it on purpose! LOL!!!.....So then I had to bath Jake and the dog - not together mind you.....although it flashed through my mind and it might have been quicker.

It is too much fun!! True!

LUCKY ME!!

My Favorite Chocolate.....

I have always loved this stamp set from My Favorite Things, but was always hesitant to buy it because of the sentiment about sisters.

It's not a secret that my sister and I have a very tumultuous relationship, all her fault of course, unless you ask her and then......well you know.

We used to be quite close and then things happened.....and then we weren't, but I do miss the relationship we had at one time, so I broke down, had a weak moment and bought this stamp set -"How Sweet It Is".

I bought this beautiful yummy coral cardstock from Phebe at my LSS, The Town Scrapper . (okay, I admit I don't REALLY know what LSS means, but I THINK it means local scrapbook store). This coral colour is a theme in the next few cards I am making. I love it!!

The plaid paper is from Basic Grey Two Scoops that I bought from What We Found. They had fantastic prices so I "scooped" it up....LOL!!

I paper pieced the dress in the plaid paper also.....and not too difficult to cut out, considering her skinny arms. Chocolate and skinny. I can hardly say that without laughing hysterically!! I stickled the chocolates - even the big one in the corner -- yummy!! I wish it was real!

The ribbon is from Walmart.

I really like this set and despite it's historical significance -to me (LOL!), I WILL use it again!!

LUCKY ME!!

22 Jan 2008

Snowbunnybella is HERE!!

My Snowbunnybella arrived today from Paper Pretties!! YAY!!

I have been expecting her so I was VERY pleased when she showed up.....I had a whine on BIG time......which usually happens right before I get my parcel!!

Paper Pretties had a few glitches this month, with paper being backordered and Christmas postal season...anyway, she is here now......and isn't she darling!!

I followed the directions that were included and only had to sneak a peek at the actual picture on their website once.

Everything on this card is included in the card-in-a-box except the pop-up glue dots, the puff up stuff and the sentiment......which is great because then you can add what ever sentiment you want!! Well, I guess you could anyway but you know what I mean!

All the paper and cardstock is cut up for you so there is absolutely no measuring of paper and the instructions are so easy to follow......and if you get lost or confused.....just check the site and there is always a picture of the Bella of the month card on the site!!

I haven't looked since I finished the card but I imagine it is pretty close. And anyway, there is enough supplies for five more cards so I can change it however I want, and make her my own way---but why would you want to - she is so freakin' CUTE!!

I had some time tonight, since Jake went to bed and I actually wasn't dead tired!! I am including another picture of him - sorry to bore you - but he is too cute not to share!

This picture is of him peeking outside at the dogs playing. He didn't want to step on the register grate!!

We have another dog besides our Schnauzer and she is a Border Collie mixed with every other kind of dog on earth. Her name is Queenie and she is SUCH a little lady!

She treats Jake with so much respect. Ron says she is just steering clear of him......could be true......

I am SOOOO glad I was able to stamp tonight........it is just a breath of fresh air to go down there and shut the door!

LUCKY ME!!

I'm Trying........

Yes, I am trying to get to my stamp room.....but Jake is soooo much fun to be around, it may be few and far between this week!

He has his own teeny tiny play couch that pulls out to a teeny tiny play bed, and when he gets tired, he pulls it out and lays down on it, kind of on his head and shoulder, upside down sort of (you have to be there).

Rosie (our Schnauzer) cocks her head to one side and watches him and then lays down beside him. Then Jake smacks him one aside the head and Rosie will leave into her own bed. Then Jake gets up and follows her and stands and cocks his head to one side and watches her and then lays down beside her in her bed!!

Then I rescue Jake from the dogs' bed -just because- and the whole thing starts all over again!!

Too cute!

He is sleeping right now and so is Rosie - resting up for another round I suppose. I think I may go rest also......I really don't remember my 3 kids being this busy!!!

Hope to post something later......

LUCKY ME!!

I am tooooo tired to think of anyone, but tomorrow I will think of some people. Tomorrow is another day!! ( Do I sound like Scarlet O'Hara??!)

To bed for real, now!!

LUCKY ME!!

Poops and Giggles!

I have not been able to post anything these last two days!! We have got our little grandson staying with us for a few days and MAN, how busy is he??!

My title post is Poops and Giggles and that has been our main focus this weekend......giggles from us and poops from him, in case you were wondering! LOL!! (although....never mind)

I was able to rush a card in between naps (mine, not his - true).

This beautiful Magnolia stamp of Tilda holding her baby!! She is too cute! I bought her at The Town Scrapper, AND I plan to get more!

I cut her out and mounted her on some blue cardstock so that she would pop out more.

The designer paper is from Basic Grey Perhaps line. Flowers are Primas and the dollar store. Flower centers are Stamping Bella pearl baubles.

The sentiment, Much Love is from My Favorite Things and is the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set.

I used some quickutz in this card. They are for the leaves on the flowers.

I colored Tilda with my copics and used pearl stuff (I'm so tired I can't even think of it) for her wings - I will post it when I go and look tomorrow!

My blog candy winner!! was pulled earlier this evening!! I never thought to have everyone add a number in front of their name, so I printed off all the comments and cut them up and then had Holly draw the name!!

I will announce it tomorrow morning!! and if I have their e-mail address, then I will let you know. If not then the winner has until Wednesday night to e-mail me with their street address.

Thanks everyone!!

I AM GOING TO BED!!

Thanks you to EVERYONE who wrote such wonderful comments for my candy!! It was sooo much fun!!

Wish You Were Here....

I made this card for my mom and step-dad who are in Florida enjoying the non-freezing weather up here!

Oh, did I sound a tad bit envious? Well, I am.

I would love to get out of these sub-zero temperatures--but not just yet!

Because.....yay!! we are looking after little Jake for 10 days !! whoop! whoop! whoop! I get to play with a baby again!! (she said singing and clapping!!)

His mommy and daddy have gone to Hawaii to celebrate their 5 year anniversary!! I know, I know......but Jared travels so much that he has soooo many air miles and so they can fly for free and stay in a Holiday Inn for free - so why not!?

Now this card is a direct case of this card on AmyR's site Prairie Paper and Ink. I think her card is the last one BEFORE Amy started doing her sketches for people to try.

You should go over and cruise her site if you never have before. You will be in for a great surprise!! It really is fantastic---it is the first blog that I ever looked at-because she has soooo many Stamping Bella cards - honest to goodness - I spent day and night on that site for days!

The stamp set is CC Designs Little Penguins and I bought it on All That Scraps.

I coloured him/her in with my copics and of course spruced up the balloons with my Sakura glitter pen - I LUV that pen! I have a copic glitter pen too, but I like to give my pens fair time each! You know....

The cute little design paper is from daisy d's Maybe Baby Valentine Paper - so sweet and full of soft colours - I LOVE it!! I bought it from Jacksonbelle Embellishments, that and a few other things....

I added a Prima flower, as Amy did, but I added a Stamping Bella pearl bauble to the middle. Ribbon is offray from Walmart.

The sentiment is from a new set I just got from My Favorite Things called Essentials Sentiments. It is so cool and it has tons of sayings like "Cool Beans" - perfect for a coffee card, and "Hey Sexy" - I've seen that one on a Grumpabella card!! Perfect for that!!

Well, I hope I did this card justice! I think it turned out great!

It is late and off to bed I must go, for Jake is sure to wake up early in the morning and be a little out of sorts, so I will have to spoil him SILLY!!!......I am so LUCKY!!

Don't forget about my blog candy! Leave a message on this post and I will be picking a number/drawing a name on Sunday and announcing the winner on Monday

I'm Getting a Little Ahead of Myself....

Well, wouldn't you say so?

This little chickadee stamp from High Hopes is so dang cute!!

I think she is all set for Easter in her Easter bonnet!

She is coloured with my copics and then I added some Sakura glitter pen to her feathers, ribbons and frills!

I know what you are going to say--that chicks don't wear Easter bonnets during Valentine's season......but I happen to gather eggs every day in a layer barn and I can justifiably say, that YES, they do wear Easter bonnets - whenever they want to, AND they have glitter on their feathers too!

I'm really surprised you didn't know that.....

Oh my gosh, I love that glitter pen, and although you can't really tell, she is all a twitter....uh....glitter....and sorry about the shadows.....I didn't really notice that until it was posted.

I had my Happy Valentine's Day stamp all ready to stamp, but I couldn't do it. I just couldn't. So I said, ahhh phthth! Happy Easter it is! from Papertrey Ink's Limitless Labels.

The DP is from Basic Grey and is STELLA!! Ruby, and the little stick pin is from Fancy Pants. The ribbon is from Wal-mart and is Offray. I am so weak....and everytime I go in there I have to pick up 3 or 4 rolls.

So....my first Easter card....I'm waaaayyyyy ahead of you!! LOL!

LUCKY ME!

Don't forget about the blog candy!! Leave a comment on this post and I am drawing a name/picking a number/standing on my head and clicking my heels together on Sunday and announcing the winner on Monday!

17 Jan 2008

Let's start at the very beginning.....

Just thought I would post a few of my scrapbook pages that I did years ago, being as I have NOTHING for you today in the way of a card!!

This first page is of my daughter when she was about 6 years old, (she's 24 now, *sigh*) playing in one of those tunnel things at the park. I LOVE the bright colours in this photo, so I transfered those colours over into the rest of the page!

These next two pictures are our fishing vacation up north in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. We have gone for two years now with friends and yes, I am the one in the green and blue and bright orange life vest, looking like a dork! with the fishing guide. I didn't feel like a dork at the time..... I was pleased as punch to have caught all those fishies!! My hubby is the man in black - with the Tilly hat.

These are some of the pages I have done over the years. I am more into the cards lately, but like I said, I am doing a Breast Cancer 60K Walk scrapbook for a friend, so I still dabble in it.

There has been a lot of talk on the blogs lately about losing your Mojo.......well, mine has also gone wherever those lost Mojo's go!

Actually, I think is just lost in my stamp room somewhere - I kind of went into the stamp room and couldn't find a thing after all this shopping.....so until I wade into my room, undercover some stuff, clean it up, put it away where it belongs - wherever that is .....nothing much is going to happen.

Hopefully later tonight, or tomorrow morning!

Don't forget to post a comment on this post here on my blog, for blog candy!! I will draw it on Sunday night and post on Monday!!

You will have until Wednesday night to claim your prize by emailing me with your full address. PLEASE put the words "Lucky Clucker blog candy" in the subject line. I do not open mail from people I don't know!!!
sorry, I do not like being bossy....

LUCKY ME!!

One Magnolia, Two Magnolia, Three Magnolia, FOUR!

I went shopping in Petrolia today; P-town to my kids - where they went to high school, where my mom and step-dad live, where Ron's brother and niece live, where my mom was the minister at the United Church for a few years- gotta LUV Petrolia, Ontario!! in-laws, out-laws, you name it - we know people!!

Well, I didn't get four Magnolia's but I did get three!! Two Tildas and some fish. Not sure what I am going to do with the fish, but The Town Scrapper thought that there is a mermaid, sooooo....I can envision it now!! I got some High Hopes stamps also!! I am sooo happy!!

Oh my goodness, what a SWEET shop she has!!! And not sweet as in sugary, but sweet as in ever-luvin' DROOL!

Can you say High Hopes, Magnolia, My Favorite Things, Whipper Snapper all in her front room shop! Cuttlebug, cardstock , brads (yep), eyelets. I was holding onto little Jakie (grandson) who really is the love of my life, while Marcie shopped (we were taking turns) and all I could think of was, my turn, my turn, my turn.......poor Jake....he might have gone out with the bath water - so to speak!

Phebe (pronounced Fee-Bee - no "o") was so great, she brought out toys for him to play with....which did work for a minute.....ah well.

Marcie had story hour with Jake.....so off she went while I got down to some serious shopping.

A few $$$'s later, and after making two new friends -hi Phebe, hi other lady who was there too! *waving* - I was out the door, speeding home, wanting to PLAY!!

I inked up my new Tilda stamp and jumped into the sketch challenge on SCS today. I coloured her with my copics and sparkled up her wings, shoes and ponytail holders with the copic glitter pen.

I used some Bling cardstock (luv it!) that I got at-- ta-DA!--The Town Scrapper! Basic Grey Gypsy was used for her pants and the background and then Offray ribbon was tied to one side of the card.

I stamped "be mine" from Papertrey Ink's Limitless Labels onto a circle cut out with the "nesties" and popped it up on the image!!

Some blingy brads and a couple of acrylic embellishments later, I was done!! Whoop whoop!!
Many thanks to Kim Reid, for cluing us into The Town Scrapper.

If you ever find yourself in P-town, head over and prepare to be amazed!!

LUCKY ME!!

The Facts of Life

We had news the other day of the death of one of our friends.

She was over 80 and had a full, wonderful life on the farm she shared with her husband.....and she got hit by a pickup truck crossing the street, in town and was killed.

I mean, having lived that long and then dying that way, is just kind of weird for me to comprehend. I wish she could have died of old age instead of in such a traumatic fashion, but that was not in her plan I guess.

The image is from Papertrey Ink and is the Spiral Bouquet stamp set. Sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly. Ribbon is from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

On a MUCH brighter note, I have crossed the 5,000 hits mark, and so don't forget to add a comment on this post here to win some awesome blog candy! Click on the words "post here" to be taken to that post to enter your comment and check out the candy!

I am going to "The Town Scrapper" in Petrolia today!!
I might even buy something for myself!! YAY! I found out about her on Kim Reid's blog Kraftin' Kimmies Korner.

I've edited because I forgot to leave the link for Kraftin' Kimmies Korner! Sorry about that Kim, I guess I was in too much of a hurry to get to The Town Scrapper!! (and what a morning it was!! tee hee! -next post!)

Honestly, I can't believe that The Town Scrapper has been there all this time and only a few miles away and I DIDN"T EVEN KNOW IT!! Sometimes, right in your own backyard!!

and also I have absolutely NO willpower......hubby will KILL me.....

I have to go clean up my house??? because the cleaning ladies are coming today!

Honestly, after picking up, wiping up, throwing out and sweeping the floor BEFORE they come - WHY do I even need one!? Because I do, that's why! None of that stuff would get done if they weren't coming because I spend so much time in my stamp room - AND I LOVE IT!!!

LUCKY ME!!

Well, when I purchased my Little Penguins set from "All That Scraps" I actually thought ahead to this day and got an EXTRA set!! Just for you!

Also, there is some pink liquid applique (I don't have a clue how to use it but I plan on looking it up SOON!!),

I am sooooooo pumped!!

LUCKY YOU!!!

Be Mine Little Penguin....

I so LOVE this stamp set!!.....again, I think I start almost every post this way!!

But seriously, he is sooooo dang cute!!

I broke out the Basic Grey Periphery pad and actually used some paper from it!

I don't know what it is about a NEW paper pad, but I detest using it-for fear I will use it up - I mean look what happened to my Figgy Pudding! GONE!! Well, I could probably scrounge up some scraps - but come on!

This little guy is from CC Designs and is EZ Mounted Little Penguins - that is they are all cut out and ready to be used. As soon as they arrived from All That Scraps, I opened up the package and started stamping - so freakin' FUN!!

Pengy (as I lovin'ly call him - hard "g" by the way) was colored with my copics and I used my NEW copic glitter pen for the little flowers - this pen is similar to the Sakura glitter pen but apparently it has ground up glass in it to make it REALLY **sparkle** Personally, I couldn't really tell the difference, but I guess I will have to use it ALOT!! *wink* and I will tell you again what I think....

I cut him out and embossed him with my nestabilities, then adhered him on various shapes and sizes of my beloved Periphery (I know, I know - my Figgy was beloved too-and it was!)

Scrappin' Great Deals has nestabilities, by the way, and they have new shapes and sizes in too!! Don't forget about her Wednesday sale 9:00 am - 9:00 pm, but she usually posts it about Tuesday night at 9:00 pm, so you can get in on it early!!

I used my white gel pen to make white scallops around the scalloped square and then popped the whole thing up onto the back ground of - yes - you guessed it- Periphery!!

The little tag was cut out with the small tag Cuttlebug die and then stamped with "be mine" by Papertrey Ink's Limitless Labels.

I tied it on with some Stamping Up celery ribbon (I can't BELIEVE I am starting to know the colors..... yay me!) and done!!

Thanks for looking!!

Magnolia Winner!! Woo Hoo!!

No, it wasn't me who won the Magnolia stamp over on Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner.....

it was my daughter Marcie!!

YAY! MARCIE!!!

Jump over to Kimmie's and see Marcie's card!

LUCKY MARCIE!!

A Caardvarks LUUUV Challenge.....

This card is for the Caardvarks Challenge. I saw the link to this challenge on someone's blog I was reading - oh yes - it was ScrapMomof2 on Crazy for Crafting and I thought, sure, I'll put something in.

I am busy making Valentine's Day Cards so I can surely use a fresh sketch......leap on over to Caardvarks, check out the sketch and enter a creation right now - you never know!! They are taking entries up until January 18th.

This card was made completely with daisy d's Maybe Baby Valentine paper.....I have been using it ALOT lately....but I LOVE IT!! I purchased mine at Jacksonbelle Embellishments - a great store with a ton of stuff!!

The "l-o-v-e" letters were done with Making Memories letter stickers...they are soooo cool!!

They are sticky on both sides, so you just peel them off and stick them where you want them, then peel off the other side and pour your glitter on it. It is so pretty!! I LOVE GLITTER!!

The flower is from Heidi Swapp and it was white but I used my copics to color it dark pink (or whatever heck color that is!!!)

Then I dipped the white heart brad in glue, and then in the glitter and let it dry...... so very easy!!

I just want everyone to know, that I have been TRYING to post on everyone of my SBS2 sisters blogs and others, but blogger is not co-operating. It is doing a pick-and-choose on what blogs I can and cannot comment on. So bear with me, I am going to go down to our library and see if that works - it will-. WHEN OH WHEN will I ever get high-speed internet!!

Apparently, it is supposed to be showing up in March 2008, which everyone knows really means June 2008 or later!! LOL!!

I am going to hop on over to Papertrey Ink tonight, to check out the new stamp sets that are debuting tonight! Hopefully, I can get a set or two!!

LUCKY ME!!

Pink Cat with Orange trim?!!

Ah yes, what I mean is my Pink Cat Studio Oriental Cat stamp with orange trim... LOL!!

I really didn't know how to color this stamp, but I love a challenge, so I delved right in!

I colored her with my copics and LOTS of pearl accents!! Her blue flowers are done with blue liquid pearls - I LOVE the liquid pearls!! so much so, that her eyelids are also liquid pearls - white this time!

She is popped up with dimensionals on Basic Grey - Mellow designer paper - PERFECT paper for this image, as it has lots of blues and oranges and greens in it - green to match her SPARKLY green eyes!!

Her sash and neck are done with copper stickles. I LOVE sparkly things!! (I might be half crow - lol!!)

I popped up her little oriental word --I'm really not sure what it means, but it is surely all good!!-- and added a folded orange flower behind her head. When I find out what the oriental symbol means, then I can stamp a sentiment inside the card!!

My sewing machine came in handy on this card, as I stitched up around the edges.

I love it!

Did you see on my anniversary post that Stampin' When I Can linked me up!! because she loved the card!! How great is that? I didn't even make the card - my daughter did..... Kudos to her!! Check out her gallery here!!

Thank you everyone for the kinds words and blessings you have offered us for our anniversary!! Love it and it is so wonderful (and fun!) to get such thoughts!

LUCKY ME!!

High Hopes!! Sweet-hearts!

I am inking up my High Hopes Chef Pierre today!! He is so DARN cute and honestly, doesn't he look SOOO proud of himself!!

Kraftin' Kimmie's Corner is having a free stamp contest!! Just log on here and find out all the details......this is what this card is for!!

Chef Pierre has baked up a fresh tray of hearts just for you!! Well, actually just for me!!

I colored this cutesie-pie with my copics and added some Fruit Punch Stickles to the cookies, so that it looks like little sprinklies on them!!

I traced around Chef Pierre's hat and oven mitts with my Sakura glitter pen, and then I added some glitter pen to his buttons too!

This designer paper is from daisy d's Maybe Baby Valentine collection and I purchased it at Jacksonbelle Embellishments. It is such a sweet pack of paper and it is 8 x 8 which is wonderful!!! Sometimes the 6 x 6 is just not BIG ENOUGH!!

The sentiment "sweet" is from Papertrey Ink and is the stamp set "Piece of Cake". I stamped it on an oval circle that was cut out and embossed with the oval nestabilities.

I ties some offray ribbon around the daisy d paper and then popped the image up with some dimensionals. Then I double popped!! the sentiment up with dimensionals also!!

I added a photo corner and a couple of blingy brads to the card and then done. How cute is it!!
I love these High Hopes stamps! They are nice and crisp and give great detail!!

LUCKY ME!!
