Happy Birthday......

I received the new Birthday Basics set from Papertrey Ink last week and that gorgeous new paper!!

I HAD to use them again.....they are too beautiful to be sitting for long!

The card is pretty self-explanatory except I had teeny weeny issue with a teeny weeny stamp.......I dropped it......ugh!!!

I wanted to stamp just a few little leaves from the Out on a Limb stamp set from Papertrey Ink in Spring Moss ink so I peeled off the teeny leaf stamp (which is not that teeny) which I had not cleaned the last time I used it (BAD ME!!) and so it was not tooo sticky.......and it fell off the acrylic block onto the floor!

My stamp room is not the size of a gymnasium ......it couldn't have gone far, could it?? Yep, I couldn't find it anywhere.....I even kept the dog out because then I would have blamed her.....I never did find it....still looking......

So I took the large leaves stamp and inked up ONE teeny leaf and stamped the few leaves that I wanted on this image.......what a dummy I am.....

Anyway, I used both months releases of cardstock from Papertrey Ink, Spring Moss and Berry Sorbet and the pink patterned paper.

The sentiment if from the new Birthday Basics stamp set from Papertrey Ink. The ribbon is the spring moss swiss dot ribbon, also from Papertrey Ink - obviously it is a Papertrey Ink day again!!!

I LOVE IT!!

Amy R's Sketch......

Okay, don't shoot me, I promise this is the last Riley the moose card!

Well, there are actually two cards - but I love him so much that I can't resist......I WILL be using him for Father's day obviously. I think he is a fabulous image!! (can ya tell!!)

This card is for Amy R's Friday sketch which you can find here.

I used Dream Street Paper's Daydreamer patterned paper in the 12 x 12 sheets and just cut them into 4 x 4 pieces so I can make 9 cards from one sheets - Great!!

I stamped Riley, that I snatched up at The Town Scrapper, and the A Muse sentiment with Brilliance graphite black ink on Papertrey Ink white and coloured in ol' Riley with copics!

The little dot stamp is from All That Scraps and is called Big Ol' Backgrounds Polka Dots.

I used my blending pen to kind of put a bit of shine on his nose, but I think all I ended up doing was making him look like maybe he had a bit too much of the whiskey in him and went for a tumble!!! LOL! Let's hope not.....but then again --- it IS his day!!

This second card is Riley again, obviously!

This time I used Basic Grey Boxer , for both the patterned papers.

Again, I used Papertrey Ink cardstock for the base and that is also that paper I stamped both the images on!! VERY versatile paper! I love it!

The sentiment is from Inkadinkado and was stamped in Stamping UP! ink Not Quite Navy, some ink that I was able to buy from Julia Stainton when she was purging and I was buying!! (which I always seem to be!! cripes!!)

Ribbon is from The Paper Pickle, because they have these HUGE glass jars at the till - like 6 of them, as big as me, I swear! full of yards and yards of ribbon and you just TRY to check out and that ribbon is staring you in the face screaming --"BUY ME!! BUY ME!! Help me get out of these HUGE glass jars at the till!!"

So I helped them......I did.

And good thing, because it really goes with this card....whew.

Look at his cute little crown!! topped off with a Stamping Bella pearl bauble!!

I love this card!!!

Riley the Moose.....relaxing....

Well, this is something I might not get to do for the next couple of days!!

Jake is coming for a sleepover!! YAY!!

His mom has a wedding to go to today and is staying over so that she doesn't have to drive *wink*, and Jake's daddy is travelling/working so he doesn't even get to go to the wedding!!

I think that would suck, but that is the way their life is, and they seem to be handling it wonderfully, better than I would I think!! Kudos to both of them!! (well-- all three of them!)

Here is Riley again! I am luving' this little guy! He reminds me of my grandpa, sitting in his big ol' easy chair, drinking his coffee and eating his cheezies!! ?? Cheezies???

Actually he never ate cheezies but he was a big smoker and because his fingers were stained with nicotine, I always thought he had been eating cheezies!! The mind of a child.......

This card has a lot going on.......but I just love the paper - My Minds Eye - This was an old piece I picked up half price somewhere? but I loved it and I knew I would use it for something VERY important! and here it is!

I coloured him with copics and his mug with my silver leaf pen so that it would look aluminum, like camping! I guess I am thinking about summer haha!! like that is ever going to happen......!

And do you see the coolio steam coming out of the mug - you can barely see it, but then steam is like that ya know!! Those little swirls are from Maya Road and I have to find different ways to use them up (there are a lot in a tin!) so any "mug" picture you see will probably have some "steam" coming from it!! LOL!

The flowers are MM, yep, MM with a blingy brad in the center and the ribbon is Offray.

The little funky border on the bottom is part of the sticker set that came with Basic Grey's Boxer set - quite a few neat little stickers in that package!

The footstool was coloured in with lime green Stickles - more blingy thingys. I don't know how comfy that would be IRL, but anywhooooo!

A great male birthday card or another Father's Day card!! Man I am so far ahead I am tripping over myself!!

Stamping Bella meet Papertrey!

My Papertrey Ink purchases came in the mail yesterday!! Oh my! Oh my!

Beautiful colours.......Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush mingle together so fabulously!!

AND Stamping Bella's Wedding Gown Circle thrown in for fun with a dash of Stamping UP!

That sounds like a recipe for a great card, don't you think?!

I stamped the Wedding Gown circle on Papertrey Ink white cardstock and then again on two separate pieces of the Papertrey Ink Pink Patterns Patterned Paper ---whew! I know I can't say that 3 times fast!

I coloured the image with my copics and then used liquid pearls for the buttons on the back of the dress.

I cut out the bow and attached it with pop-up dots and then cut out the background of the image and glued it on a white cardstock circle Papertrey Ink cut out with nestabilities.

Then I used the nestabilities again to cut and emboss and scalloped circle and popped up the image on that.

I glued my two matching pieces of patterned paper onto the Berry Sorbet cardstock base and stamped the Stamping UP! sentiment in Brilliance black.

I removed the guard from my corner rounder and made the scallops on the patterned paper. Then I took my paper punch and cut out little circles from the lighter patterned paper and added them to the scallops.

I punched out a half scalloped circle with the giga punch and glued it to the end of the card to let the image stand out a bit more!

It is VERY pink!!

I used Beate's sketch for this card and I kind of altered it a bit, but I am sure that is allowed!!

I was thrappy (thrilled and happy!) for this sketch because I was having a real "crapIcan'tfigureanythingouttoday" moment and I didn't know how to portray this stamp!

Sometimes......you need a little shush (shove and push!)!!!

Relaxing Riley the Moose!

I picked up this stamp at The Town Scrapper when I had lunch with the girls last week!

Oh my goodness, I have wanted this stamp since it first came out, (I could say that about any stamp, pththth!) but the shipping always scares me on these things......at any on-line store! So I was so excited when I saw that Phebe had them in and I grabbed it up!

The patterned paper is from the new line at Basic Grey called Boxer that I grabbed up at the Paper Pickle yesterday! Isn't it grand!!

This particular piece is called "Bowling Shoes" - why? I dunno.....I guess they have to call it something!

I stamped the image with Brilliance Graphite black ink - because it doesn't smear or run or be crappy when you colour it with copics, which is just what I did!

I used my nestabilities to cut the image out, along with the mats of red and green.

The sentiment is from A Muse Artstamps and is stamped and embossed with white seafoam embossing powder.

Then I just glued it on helter skelter, added some buttons and ribbons and done!

Such a fast and easy card - maybe Father's Day?

Whoa!! I am getting ahead of myself - but for me early is never early enough!!

I HATE THIS!!

Winter that is! I am HATING winter! Yes, I agree that hate is a strong word but I can't think of anything else to say about it right now.

I promised I would be back to give you the details on the last post and here I am!!

That card has that cutie Bitzy Bugz Tubby Time stamped on Papertrey Ink white cardstock and coloured with copics.

The cuttlebug folder that I used is the spots/dots embossing folder from Scrappin' Great Deals.

Scrappin Great Deals is having a sale right now and all week!! If you order $60 worth of merchandise you will get $15 off!! This is on all week while they are in Florida (where I bet it isn't snowing!) so take advantage while you can!!

For Goodness Sakes!!!!!

I just got this weather warning e-mailed to me.....

"SNOW...LOCALLY HEAVY...WILL THEN OCCUR
THROUGHOUT THE EVENING HOURS BEFORE EXITING EASTWARD AFTER
MIDNIGHT.

TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES FOR
LOCATIONS SOUTH OF AND INCLUDING THE I 69 CORRIDOR. SLEET MAY

YUCKY!! We are in Southern Ontario, but we generally get the same weather as Ohio and Lower Michigan.

I have a Riley card to post tomorrow. I can't post it tonight because when I take pictures at night, it is a complete disaster LOL!

Tata for now!!

I've Lost Control!!

I have just a quickpost today and I will get the details to you later! am on my way over to look after Jake while his mother goes to work and I am sooooo late, but I wanted to post this cutie-patootie!!
I used the new Basic Grey paper "Cupcake" and cuttlebugged the whole thing! ....patterned paper and all!!
AND my Papertrey Ink "buyings" came in today and I am just dying to use everything----but it will have to wait until later......
OH Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, ribbon, ribbon, ribbon........

I'm Limited and Late!!

I'm limited in supplies that is! and late at that challenge!

Friday's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers is always a limited supplies challenge.

This week (well, last week) the challenge was this:

DIRECTIONS: Make 2-4 cards using the SAME stamps, designer paper, and color scheme. Things that can change to make each card unique are layouts, tools and accessories. The main idea is to get many different looks using the same stamps, designer paper, and colors. It can also show the importance of tools, embellishments, and layouts on cards... how it can really make a card great and how it can really change the look of an image for a totally new card.

So, on the weekend, I got out a 12 x 12 sheet of Basic Grey Lily Kate paper and cut it into 9 - 4" x 4" pieces.

I used 3 sheets of Papertrey Ink's Spring Moss 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and 3 sheets of some other lilac cardstock I had and made the card bases by cutting each sheet in half.

Some I cut on the 8 1/2" side and some on the 11" side KWIM?!

Then I stamped my butterfly, (I also did a snail) from Technique Tuesday's "Buggin' Out" on white Papertrey Ink cardstock and coloured the images with copics.

I also added a whooole bunch of stickles and glitter on the butterflies so they would be nice and pur-tee!!
I cut them out and embossed them with the nestabilities - some square and some rectangle and mounted them on a scalloped piece of cut and embossed matching cardstock.

The sentiments are all from Papertrey Ink's stamp set Faux Ribbon.

After scrounging through my meager ribbon supply - yeh right LOL!! I found some matching ribbon!

I put them all together and here are three of them done for the challenge!!

Math class Tuesday today!

I may go to the slots while I am waiting - a lady here in Ontario won 9 millions dollars on the slot machines the other day!!!!

Of course, on the other hand, maybe she won it all and there will be nothing left for me!! Dang!

24 Mar 2008

Pregabella!

I have been calling her Preg-o-bella, but I finally went on Stamping Bella to be sure and I was wrong!

Can you even believe it?!! phthththt!

Yep, another one of those every-luvin' Bella's!!

I used Basic Grey Two Scoops, such a FUN paper!! all those scrolls and hoopy things! I love it!

I stamped her in Brilliance Graphite Black, which is an awesome ink because almost as soon as you stamp you can colour with your copics and it doesn't smear, or run, or bleed - or whatever you want to call it!!

I even gave her a little belly button bling!! 'Cause she's a sweet thang!!

"Welcome baby" is from Papertrey Ink's Limitless labels!

Ribbon is a beautiful shimmery May Arts ribbon and then I just tied a stray piece of aqua and green ribbon on to the shimmery, shiny ribbon!

Of course, it wouldn't be complete without the Stamping Bella baubles!!
Love her!

Missing You by the Seashore

I think that making up a title for these posts is the weirdest thing to have to do regarding blogging......

I mean, you can only say Happy Birthday, or Merry Christmas so many times! You need to be kind of clever with the titles and clever does not comes easy after breathing in glue fumes!!

Actually, there are no fumes......I am just making up excuses as to why I have crappy titles... haha!!

Saturday's challenge on Splitcoast Stampers is an inspiration challenge. Today, this is the inspiration we had to work from. How pretty is this bracelet eh? (I had to say eh?)

Now, I am not sure if I am allowed to post this picture of the bracelet without permission from someone, but I am sure I will find out!!

I was shopping at The Paper Pickle today and picked up this stampset "by the Seashore" from My Favorite Things!

It must have been fate that I buy it, because I have wanted this one but never had the opportunity to buy it. Okay, that is a lie - I have always wanted it, and I have had the opportunity - just never took it!

But, when I was in The Paper Pickle, Kim told me they had a new line of stamps that were kind of neat, and lo and behold! My Favorite Things!!

What could I do? I was helpless........

So sorry about the picture quality.....it is kind of dark......but it is nightime here and my lighting is sh^&?(*tty!!
Edited to add: Fixed it!! yay!

That being said, I stamped the main image on Very Vanilla and coloured it with Copics.

The patterned paper is from one of my Paper Pretties boxes in the fall, so I am not sure what it is. Flowers are of course Prima, and Ribbon is Offray. The card base is Kraft from Stamping UP!!

I am soooo glad that I got some cardstock from Stamping UP! through Kraftin' Kimmie because I love it!

I love being able to read about Groovy Guava, and Certainly Celery and actually have a clue as to what you guys are talking about!!

Now for the sentiment.......don't look too close ....it is kind of wonky.

I don't know what the heck I was doing when I was stamping that! I guess I blacked out for a sec because when I realized what I was doing I was smushing it all over the card, for heaven's sake!! More fumes! phththththt!!!

That's it for today.....I am having Easter here tomorrow so I probably, most likely, won't be blogging tomorrow so have a Happy Easter Day!!

What's Up Peeps??

I bought this sentiment stamp from Stamping and Scrapbooking Jungle and I actually went there especially to buy some A Muse Artstamps. I just love these stamps and especially this font!!

So then I had the sentiment with no matching stamp.

The way I took this picture you can't really see it but it says " to one of my favorite peeps"! How cute is that??!

But, as luck would have it, when I was at The Town Scrapper the other day, she had in a new supply of Stampendous stamps and this stamp just flew up and hit me in the face! Truly - so I had to buy it!! and good thing because it matches perfectly with the sentiment - go figure!

I bet you have NEVER had that happen.......
This main image is from Stampendous and is from the Calendar Chick collection. I absolutely have to have the little chickie stamps since I am The Lucky Clucker and everything!!

The blue stripey paper is Imaginesce - For Peeps Sake and is the back of the paper. DCWV is the pink patterned paper and it is out of a HUGE paper pack that I bought when I first started scrapbooking - way back when......

The mat is from Papertrey Ink's new line of cardstock called Perfect Match quality cardstock and this one is called Spring Moss! The ribbon is from Papertrey Ink also and is Spring Moss grosgrain!

I added a few brads to match EVERYTHING and then it was done!! TA-DA!!

I would like to wish everybody a Happy Easter and I hope that all of you have a safe holiday!

Stretch!!

Yep....this is Stretch! One of the new stamps over at High Hopes. Go check them out!! They have soooo many new stamps and oh so cute!

I bought mine at The Town Scrapper in Petrolia yesterday during our fabulous lunch date with Kraftin' Kimmie! Phebe has so many stamps, not to mention paper, Prima's (which I missed because I was gawking too long at the stamps!!) cuttlebug stuff! Tons!

The patterned paper is part of the Boys Nursery Pack from DCWV and of course, Groovy Guava is Stampin' UP!'s line of cardstock.

I also used So Many Scallops, which was part of the free stamp set that I got when I ordered sooooo much stuff from Stampin' Up through Kraftin' Kimmie!

This little "sweet one" stamp goes perfectly with what I was going for - the wee little baby card!

Ribbon is the aquamist from Papertrey Ink and so is the little piece of scalloped paper under Stretch! I made the scallops with my corner round without the guard! Neato trick!!

I need some sleep...I just came back from a girl's night out with a wee bit'o wine and goodies to munch on!!

Always a bad idea for me to eat past 9:00 pm! Not good for the digestive system! Okay, ya know you're old when you start talking about your digestive tract......LOL!!

Oh, did I tell you about the time........ BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

21 Mar 2008

Good Friday Old Friend!

Happy Good Friday everybody! It is a beautiful day in Southern Ontario with the sun shining and it is almost sweater weather!!

Well, not really sweater weather, I am still wearing my winter coat to the barn, but the sun is shining and it feels GREAT!!

I am so behind on my challenges on Splitcoast Stampers, but I jumped in and did the sketch challenge on Wednesday --a bit late mind you--but I had things happening!! Exciting Things!!

Marcie, Jake and I went to lunch in Petrolia today at Actor' (ohmygoodnessitisthemostfabulousplacetoeat!!) with Kraftin' Kimmie and Phebe, The Town Scrapper! What a grand day!

I met so many fellow stampers who are just as enthusiastic about stamping as me!! woohoo! It is always so fun to find people who stamp and then you honestly stop thinking you are the nutty one!!

Let's see if I can remember everyone!

Of course, there was Kim, Marcie and little Jake, Lin from Chatham, Diana (Kim's mom), Connie, Maria from Sarnia, Phebe, and of course, Ellen who own's Actor's and- crap I had to jump over to Kim's blog to see who else - I forgot the other lady's name - Irene - sorry Irene!

I ordered the Sally Field salad which was a mixture of spinach, strawberries, mushrooms, red onion and a bunch of other "good for you" stuff with a fabulous tangerine dressing! Yummy!! Like I said - FABULOUS!!

On to the sketch challenge which was this sketch but I turned my card sideways because I think it fit the sentiment and picture better.

I used the background stamp of itty bitty dots from All That Scraps - it fits so great over your cards and more!! It is BIG!

The Patterned paper is Ginger Blossom from Stampin' UP! and the ribbon is May Arts from All That Scraps.

I stamped GinaK's baskets of happiness stamp on Very Vanilla and coloured it with my copics..... and glittered the flowers up with the copic spica pen.....you can't really see it but it is too pretty!

Oh my gosh! I keep forgetting to tell you that I LOVE GINAK! I mean, honestly, I do!

Yesterday's mail came and there was a little package and I knew I wasn't expecting any happy mail! except Papertrey Ink but that will be awhile probably :(

I opened up my package and out came 6 copics ciao markers!! Oh mother, I forgot I joined the Copic Club,(how you forget that, I'll never know!) I love her - I really do.....!!

19 Mar 2008

Make a Wish!

My Favorite Things always has the neatest stamps in their collection!

For this card I used the
"You Take the Cake" set which I have had for-evah! but I just haven't inked it up yet--silly me!!

My inspiration for this card is from Kendra Giles because ya know----- I cannot find my imagination every day - sometimes any day!! LOL!

I used this beautiful SEI paper again called Dill Blossoms, I just can't get enough of it....and I only have 6 sheets of it!! cut in half!! but I love it so much I can't stop using it!!

I mounted the Dill Blossoms paper on Very Vanilla and tied my aquamist satin ribbon around it.

I added a little bit of sheer chocolate swiss dot ribbon to the tie just for a wee bit o' interest!

I mounted that onto Bazzill (bazill?) cardstock.

I stamped the table first, then the cake, and then the candles onto Very Vanilla cardstock and coloured it with my copics. I also used my turquoise Sakura glitter pen for some of the flowers and then highlighted the rest of the flowers with the Copic glitter pen.

The copic glitter pen seems to leave the true colour when you use it. For me, The Sakura makes it kind of grey......just me maybe!!

I mounted that on the Bazill cardstock and back onto Very Vanilla. I stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla and glued it to the side of the picture - just like my hero stamper, Kendra!

Then I popped it up on the patterned paper and ........

it looked barenaked!

So I doodled around the edges (just like you-know-who!) and then it was finished!!

Holly's worker took her to math class yesterday, and hubby was fishing, so I got to stamp away the day! YAY!

18 Mar 2008

It's the Little Things....

I got a new Stamping Up set of stamps that are soooo pretty!!

It is called Happy Harmony and it has the most beautiful fancy font! I love it!!

I used Papertrey Ink white cardstock for the base of my card. I do this almost all of the time because it is such a great, sturdy cardstock and who wants a flimsy old card anyway?!

I saw this layout on Shannan's blog and I was soooo inspired by it -- so I cased it.....because.....I LOVE it!! Thanks Shannan (with an "a")!!

I just tried to find which card it was that I cased and I cannot find it sooooo...... you are just going to have to go through every one of Shannan's posts to find it!!
THAT will be hard chore to do......;) heehee (ohmygodyouwillseriouslyloveeverycreationsheevermade!!!)

The striped patterned paper is from Basic Grey - I'm not sure which one.....the paper was laying in the Basic Grey drawer...sooo?

I embossed the turquoise Bazill cardstock with the swiss dots embossing folder that I got from Scrappin' Great Deals and glued it to the striped paper.

Oh yeh, don't forget that Scrappin' Great Deals has their weekly sale on starting tonight at midnight until tomorrow night midnight. Every week!!!

I added tied this freakin' gorgeous chocolate satin ribbon (which I got at Jacksonbelle Embellishments, who by the way has a brand new shop online and NOT ebay!!) around the paper and added 3 copper brads. Then I glued that whole thing to the white card base.

I inked up the stamp with Versamagic Ocean Depth chalk ink, Versa color Pinecone and Papertrey Ink aquamist and then huffed and puffed on the stamp and stamped it.

I thought it came out great!! It kind of looks like a second generation stamping but that is the huffing, I suppose.

Then I stamped the sentiment in Brilliance black ink overtop. I like the effect!

I popped up this sentiment on the card and yippee do!! done!!

17 Mar 2008

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Goodluckabella is wishing everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I coloured her with pink and green for MY version of the happy day today!!

I cut her out and embossed her with my nestabilities, and then cut a slot in her for the ribbon with the Stamping Up slot punch!!
I then tied a little good luck bingo chip to her side.

I was able to cut a hole in the game piece with the crop-a-dile (GREAT tool!!) and slipped a pink ribbon through it and tied a knot.

I used Basic Grey Two Scoops paper on the whole thing, except the card base of course, which is Papertrey Ink white cardstock which is such a perfect paper, 110 lb weight, for cards!!

The sentiment is from A Muse Artstamps - I love this little saying!!

So everybody have a splendiferous day! I know I will....I am going to look after little baby Jake!! woohooooo!!!

16 Mar 2008

Celebrate Today!!

Well, personally I think we should celebrate any day that we wake up breathing!!

I used Basic Grey Two Scoops paper and Papertrey Ink Aquamist for the base.

I tied Papertrey Ink swiss dot satin ribbon around the patterned paper and added an opaque flower and tied it ala Amy Rysavy.

I used the Mixed Messages stamp set from Papertrey Ink to stamp the sentiment "celebrate today" and then the Borders and Corners square set to stamp around the sentiment.

I cut it out with my nestabilities and popped it up on the card!

So easy....and I luv this one too!!

Stamping Bella House!

Oh yes, Stamping Bella has more than Bella's, although they are the rockin'est girly stamps around!!

She has lots of other things on that site that you should check out!!

This is the Stamping Bella house and sentiment which I stamped in Brilliance Black ink. It is the greatest because you can stamp and when it dries, you can colour with your copics and they don't smear!! Fantastic!!

I doodled around the edges and added some glossy accents to the windows and doors to make them look like glass! Cool, eh!?

The paper is from a 12 x 12 paper pack I have had for ages from DCWV, but I just thought it looked so homey!! (not homely....)
Prima flowers and ribbon and it's done!! easy easy easy and luv it!!

Coaster Tags

I bought a copy of Paper Creations yesterday and I have been looking at it ALL day!

Page 72 has a tutorial on making large tags, so I thought why not use my coasters (since I have 97 left out of the 100 I bought!!)

I really didn't vary much from the way it was done in the magazine.

I like to try to follow pretty much the same idea until I get the feel of what I am doing and to make sure that I like what is happening!

I started with a 4" coaster that I got from Scrappin' Great Deals and cut my double sided SEI dill blossom paper the same size and glued it on. Then I trimmed the corners and sanded the edges till smooth.

I turned over the patterned paper and used that side for the strip down the middle after adhering it to some coral bazzill cardstock. I painted the edges and the back of the coaster coral to match the trim.

Then I just added some rub-ons from My Mind's Eye and SandyLion, flowers from the Cuttlebug dies and the tab from Stamping Up tab punch.

I added a few buttons along the side of the tab just like the magazine article and traced around it with faux stitching.

I tied it with some satin ribbon to a recycled bag filled with a few goodies for our neighbours who just moved into a new home!!

Seven Random (Weird) Facts about me!

I have been tagged by Danielle from Wild Dragonfly Designs! Check out her blog - absolutely wonderful creations!!

I never used to like doing these tags but they are kind of fun to discover things about each other!

Okay here it goes;

1. I am so deathly afraid of spiders. I almost pee myself. I usually grab a shoe and slam it down on the spider, all the while shrieking loudly, and then leave it there until hubby comes home and deals with it....

2. I only have nine toenails.....gross - I know....but I did NOT have a fungus or anything, it just died because .....

3. I broke my leg in the barn 3 years ago when 6 sheets of 4' x 8'- 1" thick plywood fell on the back of my leg. ( I am giving you the measurements so that you will know how heavy it was and feel sorry for me....) I was the only one in the barn, so I had to crawl out from under the plywood to the phone that was up on the wall. The broom was right there so I hit the phone with the broom handle and it fell right next to me (thank goodness-no further crawl/dragging)

4. Since I was 11, I have had 10 dogs in my life. Tippy the Beagle, Heinzy Sam, Spitz the Samoyd (sp?), Randy-the most beautifulest black lab, Scorch- he was a bad dog, Stan the biter- he never bit us, Winnie the Poodle, Queenie our border collie and of course Rosie-osie-osie!! I forget the name of our very first black lab (in between Spitz and Randy). We only had him about 10 minutes when he got hit by the neighbour (she drives very fast).

5. I can absolutely, not even wait for spring to come so that I can go golfing!!! I LOVE to golf!!!

6. I am going to be 50 years old this year and I am sooooo happy about that!! Some people don't get the opportunity to be 50! - so think about THAT! LOL!

7. I am going to let my hair go gray starting from the last time it was coloured.....I don't care! The older I get, the more worried I am about putting chemicals in/on/under my body - wine doesn't count either......

Well, that is another tag done and it really wasn't so bad! Sometimes I have to reallllllly think hard......

Okay I am tagging Marcie, Becky, Savitri and Alex

My Happy Book!

Edited to add: The links, the links, the links are not linked!!! Better now!

I have said to my kids, as my mom said to me and I am absolutely positive my grandma said to my mom "if your friend were to jump off a bridge would you do it too?"

The first time my mom said it to me I remember thinking "wha...!?"

This all being in reference to wanting to do what your friends are doing.

I have seen on numerous blogs about people altering a notebook here and there and always thinking how pretty they look and how hard that would be and I would never try it and that was that.

Now, I am jumping off the bridge, so to speak, and doing what my (cyber)friends are doing!!

I bought a small notebook from Staples (I vowed never to set foot in that place again,(long story) and yet.....) and proceeded to alter it to use as my sketch book, as does Michelle Wooderson, my very best resource in the world and I love to stalk her blog unhealthily; don't go blabbing that though, I have heard about restraining orders.....

ANYWAY.......I measured up my new little book on some Basic Grey, Stella Ruby patterned paper. I tried using Stamping Up's spiral punch to make the holes but the holes were too far apart and then I thought I should start all over but blechech!...I just cut another strip of patterned paper, made some scallops on it, punched holes with my paper punch and glued it on the (kinda) messy part!

I used Stamping Up's Warm Words "happiness" (for obvious reasons) on Very Vanilla cardstock with aquamist ink and then cut it out and embossed it with the petite oval nestabilities. Then I cut out bigger ovals on Papertrey Ink's Spring Moss and Aquamist cardstock.

I paperpierced holes on the scallops and then used the Papertrey Ink's Borders and Corners Oval stamps and stamped an oval on the aquamist scalloped piece of paper with aquamist ink.

Then I adhered it with tombow monoglue. I added Papertrey Ink's aquamist satin ribbon and then I was soooooo very happy with the results!

And on the inside I have a few sketches started that are actually my own!! haha!

I was telling my husband this morning, when I was gathering eggs, that the barn and my stamping room are the two places - right now in my life- where I can go and find some peace.

Since I am NOT going to alter the gathering room, My Happiness Book will have to do!!

I'm SOOOOO Lucky!

Savitri nominated me for this award and I thank you so much!! I am so glad that I made her day!!

Head on over to her blog and check it out!

She is sooo awesome at digi-scrapping......I just cannot get the hang of that--- not to mention we are on dumb ol' dial-up so that won't happen soon!!

Now I am nominating Marcie - naturally because she always makes my day!!

Gracie's Gift Bag!

We had a birthday party to attend on Sunday for our niece.

She was a big one year old!! So definitely hard to believe!!

Of course I made her a card, which unbelievably I forgot to take a picture of! ugh....

But I did snap a picture of the gift bag that I altered!

I just used one of the paper bags with handles that the Paper Pickle uses to send home your goodies in!!

The paper is from a big paper pack from Me & My Big Ideas, Primary paper collection.

The letter G is from Technique Tuesday's Williamsburg capital letters Extra Large and the ink is a mixture of paper salon petal and Versamagic pixie dust.

CRAP!! I just remembered that this is not our niece.....it is our GREAT niece.....*sigh*....we are getting kind of up there.....ah well.....

Here is the ....and more....!!

The last post my title was "Cupcake Challenge....and more!" and then I didn't post the ....."and more"!!!

So sorry about that, but the little hens and their eggs were calling......but now I can post the next challenge that I did and that was Beate's Challenge!!

You can check that sketch challenge out here!

I started out with the brand new not-yet-released paper from SEI called Dill Blossom. Marcie and I won it at an auction! Well, it might be released by now, but I like being able to say it....

I cut it up into four equal sections and sponged the edges with Versamark Jumbo Java ink. Then I applied it to my base card which is Papertrey Ink's Spring Moss cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment which is from River City Rubber Works in the jumbo java also and sponged the edges with it. River City Rubber Works has soooo many fabulous stamps with beautiful sentiments ready for anything you are going to make! They also have a 30% off section which is too good to pass up!!

The flower is from Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Blooms and I stamped and cut them out by hand and then put them all together with pop up glue dots.

Those freakin' dots......I put the flower on and then thought - "crap, it's too high" and I mean immediately, I went to pull it off and-- NO way!! It is stuck for life!!! So there it is.....

I paper pierced a stem freehand and then popped up the sentiment with "those freakin' dots"!! LOL!!

I love this sentiment. When things look bad and sometimes things ARE bad, you really need to remember all that is goodness in our lives......which is A LOT when you start thinking - and sometimes digging deep!! Sometimes it is hard - but like it says - entirely possible!!

It's a Cupcake Challenge......and more!

I certainly had the time this weekend to stamp (Lucky Me!!) being as we were so snowed in, so I took on a couple of challenges that some of the girls have on their blogs!

Every Friday Taylor has a cupcake challenge on her blog, that is to make a card with the given sketch and it has to include a cupcake! Just a little twist on a sketch challenge so I jumped right in!

I had my new Cupcakeabella that I bought at the Paper PIckle so I inked her up and paired her with the -oh so very pretty -Gypsy paper by Basic Grey!

I cut her out with the nestabilities oval but it was way toooo big for the sketch so I trimmed off the edges and used her like that!

I added some baby blue stickles to the BIG cupcake and some pretty Verve Visual bling is the cherry on top!!

I bought the fantabulicious! ribbon at the Paper Pickle and threaded it through with the help of the slot punch from Stampin' Up.

The flowers are actually Hero Arts flowers and of course I had to get three packages - some in every colour! Aren't they pretty and bright!

The sentiment is "hey cupcake" by A Muse and it fits perfectly with this image!!

She's too cute, but I hope her mom can get that crazy blue icing out of her dress! LOL!

More Everyday Blessings.....

Another card with that beloved patterned paper called Everyday Blessings from Papertrey Ink.

I feel that I need to say which patterned paper from Papertrey Ink that it is, because no doubt, on the 15th they will be coming out with another line of patterned paper! Oh my goodness I can hardly wait!!

The sneak peaks comes out this week starting on the 10th!! Wahoo!!

This card is very selfexplanatory.....

I used the Aquamist cardstock for the cardbase and then Everyday Blessings patterned paper and Spring Moss cardstock blued on top.

I ran the Spring Moss cardstock through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Aquamist ribbon was tied around the card and then I stamped the "Aunt" and "Happy Birthday" from Women of Life stamp set in Spring Moss ink.

Wow! Is this time change killing anyone else!! I can't believe it is hitting me so soon! It is only 5:30 pm and I am whooped....good night!
